Sunday 19.3.2017- no lightning to speak of just a couple of storm cells moving through the Junee Shire NSW Australia, from east to west. Normally tracking west to east.
As a gardener, I dislike these in my yard, but as a photographer, I can enjoy the dandelion gone to seed (as long as it's in someone else's yard).

Tatsächlich handelt es sich hier bloß um das Foto einer Wüstenpflanze - gedreht und gespiegelt... :))
In fact, it's just a photograph of a desert plant - rotated and mirrored... :))

Bold Venture Park in Darwen features a waterfall formed by the Bold Venture Brook as it enters the northern part of the park. The brook then continues through the park as a series of smaller falls and pools. The largest pool, predating the park's design, forms the centerpiece of the late 19th-century layout and is surrounded by formal gardens.

The Full Moon of July 31, 2023 rising at the end of a long line of high tension towers across the prairie near Milo, Alberta. Some smoke in the air made the rising Moon even redder than normal, making it look like an eclipsed Moon. This night the alignment of the rising point of the Full Moon coincided with the angle of the powerlines off to the southeast at 135° azimuth.
This was the evening before the day of actual Full Moon, which ocurred at midday August 1, so the Moon the evening before was almost as full as it would be the next night, and the alignment was better this night. This was also a "supermoon," being a Full Moon close to lunar perigee.
This is a single exposure with the Canon RF7-200mm lens at 200mm anf f/4 on the Canon R5 at ISO 100. A mild soft focus effect added with Nik Collection 6 Color EFX.

Pretty hard SE breeze, the high key tones help pick out how bleak this place can be. Makes me wonder just how hardy must have been those who worked the land.

There are other images in this project that might have greater technical excellence, but expression adds impact for me and this one has plenty of impact.

... and the show started unfolding before me - or rather inside me...
My family and I were in Umbria, a beautiful region in central Italy extremely rich in beauty - art, history, and nature (including, regrettably, a propensity for earthquakes) - and the homeland of so many artists and saints - one among all, St. Francis of Assisi. It is one of those selected places where I really feel at home, so I could not miss the opportunity to try and capture at least a shadow of its beauty (incidentally, we stayed at a beautiful country house, L'olmo: I warmly recommend it to anyone who would like to spend some time in that region).
I had been scouting the surroundings for several early mornings, eagerly waiting for a sunrise with at least the legal minimum of clouds, studying viewpoints and interesting landscape features while pretending to wander about with our dog, Pepa*.
At last I opted for this spot (look at the map for details): the border of an olive grove on the left, some majestic oaks on the right - and, in between, the rolling hills, the mists rising from the unseen valley, and the blueish outline of mount Subasio in the distance. It had something definitely theatrical about it... - hope that you enjoy it!
* Well, I like to enjoy my rare, precious sunrise sessions in a peaceful mood, so Pepa was not with me when I actually captured this scene. Her presence used to stir quite a huge bit of a mess in a nearby farm - they keep some sixty (yes, 60) hounds who would start barking an endless cacophony in a myriad different canine idioms as soon as they sensed Pepa approaching (i.e. when we were still more than 200 meters away).
I have worked a lot on this photo in post-processing... The most difficult task has been to decently highlight the beautiful textures of the bark of the oak while not overdoing the whole thing, so spoiling its beauty.
I have obtained this picture by blending an exposure bracketing [-1.3/0/+1.3 EV] by luminosity masks in the Gimp (EXIF data, as usual, refer to the "normal exposure" shot), then I added some final touches with Nik Color Efex Pro 4.
It may rain but theres still so much beauty in liverpool, enjoy it, like i did taking this, regardless of the rain....
After returning from an Alaskan cruise, I had to sit in the Seattle Airport for 14 hours before my flight was to depart. It was a nice treat to watch a beautiful sunset before it was time to board the plane.
Seattle–Tacoma International Airport (Sea–Tac Airport or Sea–Tac) is the largest airport in the Pacific Northwest region of the United States. It is in the eponymous city of SeaTac, Washington, about twelve miles south of downtown Seattle and is the primary airport for the Seattle metropolitan area.
The airport has flights to cities throughout North America, Europe, the Middle East and Asia. It is the main hub for Alaska Airlines and its regional subsidiary Horizon Air, whose headquarters are near the airport. It is a hub and international gateway to Asia and Europe for Delta Air Lines, which has expanded at Sea-Tac since 2011.
In 2015 the airport served over 42 million passengers. The airport is the largest generator of vehicle trips in the state, and its 13,000-car parking garage is North America's largest parking structure under one roof.

Another set for my ongoing project around a group of street performers in my home town that like to play with fire. I hope I was able to capture this lady's grace in these images as her interplay with the fire was entrancing.
