Bürgerpark Wernigerode/Harz GER
Anlässlich der Landesgartenschau Wernigerode im Jahre 2006 entstand der heute als Bürgerpark bekannte, 15 ha große Landschaftspark. Dieser wird durchzogen von einem breiten Band aus mehr als 60 Themengärten. Bestandteil des Bürgerparkes ist einer der schönsten Miniaturenparks Deutschlands. Dieser zeigt etwa 60 kulturhistorisch interessante Bauwerke des Harzes in einer faszinierenden Miniaturlandschaft mit Zwerggehölzen, Felsen und Wasserläufen.
The spider was so tiny that I did not even see it when I took the capture. Taken at the Krumme Lanke in Berlin-Grunewald. The Krumme Lanke (krumm = curved, because of the lake's shape) is a beautiful lake surrounded by woodland, and a popular bathing lake. Most of the lakeside is fenced, nowadays, to protect vegetation, and wildlife. I got very close to the screw (what you can see of it
was about 1,5 to 2 cm / 0,59 to 0,78 inches; the image is cropped).
Das Spinnchen war so winzig, dass ich es erst am Monitor entdeckt habe. Aufgenommen an der Krummen Lanke (wie das vorherige Foto). Das Schräubchen am Zaun stand so ca. 1,5 bis 2 cm hervor, das Bild habe ich beschnitten.

... some minutes before I took this image the sky was 'burning' beautifully, but I couldn't be there fast enough
Editing: Affinity Photo with Color Efex Pro 4 Filter (layer with 75% coverage), HDR Efex Pro 2 filter (layer with 40% coverage and a layer mask to exclude the sky), replacing two little-ish parts of the image (merging) ... and then some more addtional editing in Affinity Photo (gradation, saturation, selective color correction, selective sharpening ...).
I am not completely happy with the result, but at some point you have to let go ... and I am still learning and I love to experiment ;))

A simple choice for "Tool": one of my – now that many of us mostly type on a keyboard – shamefully underemployed fountain pens. A classic, the Pelikan Souverän. The original model is black and green, but some 20 or so years ago, when I bought my pen, there also was a blue/black version that I chose. Apparently, Pelikan doesn't sell the blue version anymore, so my pen now seems to be a rarity of sorts.
Writing with a fountain pen is associated with beautiful handwriting, but, well, mine has always been messy, regardless of the writing tool I choose. In elementary school, we also got grades for our handwriting, and in the German grading system, which is a scale from 1 (excellent) to 6 (failed) I never exceeded a 3. So in my case, it's probably better if I type so it's readable, but it's still a pity that I use this beautiful pen so scarcely nowadays.
The setup was really simple, I put the pen on a small glass jar, placed both in front of a black foam sheet, natural light from above, a warm LED light from the left, and from the right I illuminated a gold-coated cardboard "reflector" (positioned on the left behind the pen) for more golden, warm tones. The nib and the small part of the fountain pen visible in my photo are 2,6 cm / 1,02 inches long.
