Happy nifty fifty Friday guys, Oh I'm not feeling well and that's why I'm at home today in my warm bed, cause I just can't play with my health anymore! My Voice Is Going Out Lool xD

I'm so sorry I didn't visit you all yesterday, will try to do that over the weekend!

Wish you guys a wonderful day! :)

Please no large glittery graphics or big group invites!

Quote of the day...

"A relationship without trust is like a car without gas, you can sit in it all you want but it won't get you anywhere."

Brought that to a certain young man's attention this weekend after hearing him complain about his insecure girlfriend. Everyone who overheard it broke out laughing, not sure what was so funny but maybe it's the way I said it. It's raining again so I have some time to kill, got a lot accomplished while away from Flickr :)

For the past several days we have had what is often called the January Thaw here in Western Pennsylvania. Temperatures were in the 60s - and even today with a steady rain, it felt more like March. Before the rains came, yesterday I went for a walk at the golden hour and found tons of bittersweet vines. they're such a welcome bit of color in the brownscape of winter.

1955 Chevrolet Bel Air

Half way through the nifty fifties, the second generation Chevrolet Bel Air, appropriately dubbed the “hot one,” appeared with all new “motoramic” styling and an optional, new statement-making V8 power plant. Chevrolet enabled the everyday man the opportunity to own a virtually custom car without reaching too deep into their wallet, and Chevrolet savored the positive response.

William L. Mitchell (July 2, 1912 – September 12, 1988) is responsible for creating or influencing the design of over 72.5 million automobiles produced by GM, including such landmark vehicles as the 1938 Cadillac Sixty Special, the 1949 Cadillac Coupe deVille, the 1955-57 Chevrolet Bel Air, the 1959-1984 Cadillac DeVille, the 1963–65 and 1966-67 Buick Riviera, the 1961-76 Corvette Stingray, the 1970-81 Chevrolet Camaro, the 1976-79 Cadillac Seville, and the 1980-85 Cadillac Seville.

Mitchell spent the entirety of his 42-year career in automobile design at General Motors, eventually becoming Vice President of Design, a position he held for 19 years until his retirement in 1977. His design stewardship at General Motors became known as the 'Bill Mitchell era'.

I think this is a young male (more ruddy around the flanks).

He's been flitting in and out of The Pixies for the last couple of months but I've never been able to catch him...This is not a great photo but I was happy to see him on the gate post, this afternoon, and he waited just long enough for my excited clicks.

At The Pixies

SW Scotland

The Pixies is our name for the area where our track crosses The Burn. It is situated about seventy feet down from the natural lie of the land and is heavily wooded with hazel, oak, rowan, sycamore, birch, ash, elder, alder, blackthorn and hawthorn trees.

The wildlife, here, is quite diverse and I've often spotted roe and red deer, grey squirrels, hares, badgers, buzzards, goshawks, merlins, wood pigeon, collared doves, owls, curlews, pine martern, otters, common lizards, pipistrel and Leisler’s bats, among others. The Burn has an array of wee fish (no idea what they are...)

We have always thought of this area as being enchanted, hence the name, The Pixies, who may or may not live here... I recently set up a 'bird-feeding station' (less grand than it sounds) here, as it is about a mile, northwest and about five or six hundred feet lower than my house. I don't want my cats to intrude upon the lives or habits of the wee birdies!

I finally joined the Nifty Fifty club. It's taking some getting used to, but what else is new. I'm excited to see what we can do!

Week 16 of my Nifty Fifty for 52 challenge

This week's prompt is: It's a Song

I was having a hard time with this prompt, though I don't know why since we are a musical family. I think I had it in my mind that I wanted to literally turn a lyric into a picture. My daughter had pulled out her guitar this morning and as she was playing bits of favorite songs, I decided this was perfect for the challenge.

I found myself in Utah again last week, so I took a few minutes to make a quick stop at FrontRunner's shop. As it is fairly close to the Salt Lake City airport, I could only get a LAANC clearance to 50 feet, but that was enough. Here, we see eight trainsets laying over for the weekend, with downtown SLC in the distance.

This is what happens when our weather is not at all nice! Coffee and a chocolate chip cookie at home .. honestly, I only had one cookie and I cleaned up those little crumbs!

I met Cassie years years ago, she came to visit today and when she arrived she had this bump with her...so here it is...cassie and her bump. Definately not the best comp but I like it anyway! Before you think it LOL , I don't have a fetish but I love beautiful eyes and often comment on them...this is Cassie's natural eye color.
