"This is CC-1807 to command, be advised our entry point into the sewers is blocked by a large crowd of protesters we're moving to the secondary entry point how copy?"

"Hold on... disregard my last, the General is going to draw the crowd away, we'll be making entry at the primary location."

" Eh sure is useful having one of them around isn't commander?"

"Since you like him so much Jester, you can take your squad and watch his back."

"Feir'Fek..."

"Command be advised we are entering the sewers now."

"Hound take your squad and establish a security position down stream of the target area, Atin take your men and circle around up stream, watch our backs and keep an eye out for runners... we don't want anyone slipping away. "

"Roger that sir."

"On it"

"Cease fire cease fire!"

"Anyone have eyes on the target?"

"He's right here commander, the shabuir got himself killed..."

"Feir'Fek. Notify command that the target is kia, and mission accomplished."

"Commander I got a live one up here! We taking prisoners?"

"Negative."

(The sound of a lone blaster firing is heard, followed the dull thud of a body falling from the catwalk)

"Trooper what's the meaning of this!"

"Shab... General?"

"The mission was to take them alive, not slaughter them while they stood blind in the dark."

"General with all due respect, the mission stated dead or alive. I wasnt going to risk the lives of my men trying to take these Di'kuts alive."

"They weren't soldiers, just angry civilians, they didn't pose a threat, they didn't have to die..."

"They were armed and you don't have do be a soldier to get lucky... I'm not sure what your superiors briefed you on before they assigned you here, but this is the 253rd General, we're the best of the best. We're dropped into some of the worst battles, ones with little chance of success and expected to win. Every trooper counts and I will not risk the lives of my men fighting fed up laborers in the core."

"Lucky have your squad fan out and search for any actionable intel linking this cell to the Seps and what their endgame was. The rest of you prep the incendiaries, we're done here..."

It's great to be on break and to have a week to do relax, build and put off a calc project : P

Really happy with how this build came out, though it was a struggle to figure out the posing for the figures, regardless it was a ton of fun and honestly the whole idea came from me wanting to use those yellow cross pieces for something.

As always thanks for viewing and have a good one!

Astronomers using NASA’s Hubble Space Telescope have uncovered surprising new clues about a hefty, rapidly aging star whose behavior has never been seen before in our Milky Way galaxy. In fact, the star is so weird that astronomers have nicknamed it “Nasty 1,” a play on its catalog name of NaSt1. The star may represent a brief transitory stage in the evolution of extremely massive stars.

First discovered several decades ago, Nasty 1 was identified as a Wolf-Rayet star, a rapidly evolving star that is much more massive than our sun. The star loses its hydrogen-filled outer layers quickly, exposing its super-hot and extremely bright helium-burning core.

But Nasty 1 doesn’t look like a typical Wolf-Rayet star. The astronomers using Hubble had expected to see twin lobes of gas flowing from opposite sides of the star, perhaps similar to those emanating from the massive star Eta Carinae, which is a Wolf-Rayet candidate.

Instead, Hubble revealed a pancake-shaped disk of gas encircling the star. The vast disk is nearly 2 trillion miles wide, and may have formed from an unseen companion star that snacked on the outer envelope of the newly formed Wolf-Rayet. Based on current estimates, the nebula surrounding the stars is just a few thousand years old, and as close as 3,000 light-years from Earth.

Visitors never cease to arrive in my yard! On April 19, 2019 this little Cub bear of barely fifteen pounds at the most came to inspect my yard. It's the smell of sunflower seed residue that probably led him to my house... No mom to be seen? We notified the conservation officers and removed our feeders temporarily in case mom arrived... It as been over a month since he was reported by my neighbors south of me and without his mom in early Marsh which is very unusual, after having talked to them 5 days ago, they had not seen it for 2 weeks and now it resurfaced at my place? The Cub spent the evening at my place eating the seed residue under the feeders and we nicknamed him Fearful because in the evening I had as usual to visit 4 raccoons who made him flee at first contact to never be seen again ... Let's hope that mom found him ....

"When the orders came arrived to move in on the spaceport it was obvious that troops were excited, many of them were "green" replacements, shines, who had just had their first taste of combat during the short skirmish that took place hours ago. For the veterans of the company the only thing we felt was a looming dread on what was to come, especially when reports showed several squads of Jabiimi Nationalist troops. We had faced them before on Jabiim and witnessed the carnage brought about by their hands. We entered the city on high alert expecting heavy resistance from every house, street, and alley, but we were only met with mines and small droid patrols. It soon became abundantly clear that the majority of the Seps were amassed closer to the city's center. We advanced at a slow pace breaking into small groups in order to cover more ground as we cleared houses. We were almost to the city center when we bumped into the first civies they were holed up in a small structure which just happened to be housing a Sep gun crew, who we silenced with ease. At first, the Twi'leks seemed to be afraid of us, maybe they thought we were Sep? It wasn't really clear and we didn't have the time to waste finding out. We moved on and as we went the presence of droids increased and we even bumped into a squad of Jabiimi soldiers. Blitz who had traded out his Z6 for a blast shield was the first to go down when a lone Jabiimi ran out from behind a hut firing a heavy blaster pistol wildly, the shots hit the shield doing little harm but the impact must have knocked him out. As this was happening a pair of snipers appeared on the huts roof targeting Rook and Chemo, lucky for them the Jabiimi didn't appear to be very good shots. After a speedy recovery from the Jabiimi ambush and a brief counter-attack the Jabiimi squad lay dead at my feet. Knowing the toll the day had taken on my men I gave the order to dig in and rest, when the sun rose, we would continue onward.

Jaisalmer, nicknamed "The Golden city", is a town in the Indian state of Rajasthan. It is a World Heritage Site. The town stands on a ridge of yellowish sandstone, crowned by a fort, which contains the palace and several ornate Jain temples. Many of the houses and temples are finely sculptured.

While Jaisalmer may always have been remote, it is filled with many artistic structures and monuments of local historical importance. Jaisalmer's medieval mud fortress and walled township make it a popular tourist destination. The surrounding desolate landscape evidences a stark, austere beauty. Camel safaris through the nearby desert dunes are popular with tourists; competition for business is fierce. Prices range wildly and one has to bargain for everything, hotel rates included. Jaisalmer is known for huge mark-ups which range between 400% to 500% depending on the product. So buying shawls, carpets, jewelry etc. can be a very time consuming and nerve rattling experience. A few quiet days spent wandering around the town and the surrounding desert can be a wonderful way of unwinding from the chaos of larger Indian cities.

I have some very special friends, whom I have given exclusive nicknames...

For most of them, only I call'em by the nickname, but some fit so perfeclty that other people close to them, call'em by the same name I gave'em as well.

So I was talking to someone darling to me, trying to pick a nickname for him...

He >> No! not that one! =P

me >> hmmmmm what about "****"?

He >> no... call me "****"

me >> no! everybody calls you like that...

He >> why do you want to give me a nickname that only you will call me by?

me >> Because when you hear it, you will know it's me calling... also, whenever I'm not around anymore and you hear the word you will remember me...

He >> Dammit! You want to make everybody cry, that's kind of smart, but still pretty evil!

We were a bit late to the party on Kashyyyk.

Our objective was to safely escort the chieftain to the cave where he hid some gunboats which we will be using to take out the lizards‘ airship.

Me and Courage chose reliable Republic-made speeders to carry out our mission, the rest of my squad hopped on the Wookiee gunboats. We were expecting Trandoshans with jetpacks and were supposed to take care of those.

“Let‘s go hunting shall we?“

Not too soon after starting we got our chance to hunt. They must‘ve had a gunship of their own nearby since we were on the open water and there’s no way in hell those lizards just fell out of a tree.

Me and Courage fell back to deal with said green-skins while the gunboat with the chieftain went ahead.

Taking care of those flying lizards definitely wasn’t an easy task but we managed to hit them like one would hit some annoying flies.

But it would not be war without tragic losses. Courage got shot in the chest by a sniper and lost control over his speeder. He ultimately died due to a broken neck.

The Westland Lysander (nickname the "Lizzie") is a British army co-operation and liaison aircraft produced by Westland Aircraft used immediately before and during the Second World War. After becoming obsolete in the army co-operation role, the aircraft's exceptional short-field performance enabled clandestine missions using small, improvised airstrips behind enemy lines to place or recover agents, particularly in occupied France with the help of the French Resistance. British Army air co-operation aircraft were named after mythical or historical military leaders; in this case the Spartan admiral Lysander was chosen.

They were nicknamed The Root Beer Falls

As we close in on the end of this virtual Ghost Tour there are a few other incidents of hauntings worth mentioning about the Queen Mary. Unfortunately these hauntings take place in areas which I either didn't visit or have no photos for.

During WWII the Queen Mary acted as a troop ship and was nicknamed The Grey Ghost because of her grey wartime paint scheme. Up to 15,000 troops travelled on the Queen Mary during each troip, and the story goes that the food was so poor on one of them that a riot broke out among the troops being carried to the front. The cook responsible (or more likely just some poor guy working in the kitchen) was found and things got out of hand: the cook was stuffed into an oven and burned alive. I don't know if this story is true, but it's said that you can still hear his ghastly screams in the kitchen, which are also a site of strong poltergeist activity.

Sounds of children can be heard in the forward storage room, where the ship's archives are kept. The morgue is supposed to be haunted as is the bosun's locker. The ghosts in the ship's morgue could have a number of identities. Sixteen crew members, two GI's and thirty-one passengers have died on the ship.

The bosun's locker is the area of the hull that sliced through the Queen Mary's escort ship Curacoa as she was zig-zagging to avoid subs during one of her wartime convoy runs. The Queen Mary was under orders not to stop so she was unable to save any survivors. 338 crewmen froze or drowned in the waters of the North Atlantic as a result. It's said that in the bosun's locker you can sometimes hear the sound of tearing metal, rushing water, men screaming and the pounding of their fists beating frantically against the hull. You can also hear them in the Engine Room near the stern of the ship. Perhaps that's because many of them died when they were dragged under by the tow of the ship and were shredded in her propellers.

Finally, Senior Second Officer William Stark is said to haunt the Queen Mary. He was accidentally poisoned in 1949, when Stark drank tetrachloride that either the crew or the captain kept in an old gin bottle.

And that's that! Thanks muchly for following along to everyone who has been reading this virtual tour. I hope you all enjoyed it. If you ever get the chance to go to see the Queen Mary, even if it's just to take an afternoon to walk her decks, I strongly advise you do it. This tour was put together as a Halloween treat, but there's much more to see on the Queen Mary aside from hunting her ghosts! Over the next few weeks I'll be posting images from the QM that aren't related in any way to ghosts, including shots of the beautiful Art Deco Observation Lounge and shots of details from the ship, but for the next while I'll be taking a little break as this virtual tour has literally doubled the number of shots I have on Flickr, and getting it all out in a week has been a bit of a strain with a string of long nights - which is probably why I've been jumpy recently. Some of these stories and memories are pretty creepy, especially at midnight! Besides, I have to catch up on all of your photostreams!

So thank you one and all, and hope you had a great Halloween!

"The patrol was largely uneventful, with little excitement save a herd of rouge livestock which almost trampled Tracker after he got too close. Compared to the Two-Fifty-Third's last two engagements Dantooine was proving to be a well needed break from the constant fighting the troopers of Vornskr had endured over the last month. Galaar led his men at an easy pace, taking advantage of the quite to both memorize the area surrounding the GAR basecamp as well as pass on several valuable lessons in hunting and tracking, which had be taught to him mere months ago by Vhonte Terhvo. Eventually the sun began to set and with nothing to report the squad began to head back to camp. Silently Galaar hoped that the spooks up in intel were wrong and that their entire stay on Dantooine would be just as quite as the patrol had been... "

A bull moose that we nicknamed Jaspy at Moose Lake In Jasper National Park. We were hiking at Maligne Lake and to Moose Lake when we saw this guy coming in the water towards us, feeding under water just 30 feet away. What an incredible experience! Jaspy stayed with us for about 15 minutes then slowly walked away into the woods. Then a few minutes later a female moose came close and followed a similar path. Amazing!

Nicknames are usually plastered on early in life and stick with a person. But I doubt this barn started out with the nicker it picked up when some farmer with time on his hands built this wonderful edifice that undoubtedly starts many a conversation in those who pass by.

The three grouped buildings with nicknames in London, firstly from the River Thames, then from The SHARD, The CHEESE GRATER (The Leadenhall Building), The WALKIE TALKIE (20 Fenchurch - with Skygarden), The GHERKIN (30 St. Mary's Axe).

Big Ben is the nickname for the Great Bell of the Great Clock of Westminster, at the north end of the Palace of Westminster in London, England, and the name is frequently extended to refer also to the clock and the clock tower. The official name of the tower in which Big Ben is located was originally the Clock Tower, but it was renamed Elizabeth Tower in 2012 to mark the Diamond Jubilee of Elizabeth II.

The tower was designed by Augustus Pugin in a neo-Gothic style. When completed in 1859, its clock was the largest and most accurate four-faced striking and chiming clock in the world. The tower stands 316 feet (96 m) tall, and the climb from ground level to the belfry is 334 steps. Its base is square, measuring 40 feet (12 m) on each side. Dials of the clock are 22.5 feet (6.9 m) in diameter. All four nations of the UK are represented on the tower on shields featuring a rose for England, thistle for Scotland, shamrock for Ireland, and leek for Wales. On 31 May 2009, celebrations were held to mark the tower's 150th anniversary.

The can/bottle opener top right has been given the family nickname "Spanish Inquisition".

"We've taken them by surprise! Oya Vornskr! Oya! Let's go! Push into the trenches!"

Our push from the LZ had so far been a major success with Legion forces suffering minimal casualties snuffing out pockets of surprised Jabiimi rebels. The gunships had dropped us off under the cover of a massive hurricane, a storm which prevented us from landing our heavy weaponry, but masked both our deployment and rush on the Jabiimi lines. My squad, Vornskr had managed to catch a Jabiimi pillbox during a resupply cutting down several Jabiimi soldiers outside the fortifications as well as destroying the bunkers guns before they could fire on us. Using the captured bunker as a staging point I lead Vornskr into the trenches, engaging the Jabiimi in brutal melee combat as we cleared out the fortifications. The muddy trenches took their toll on my men slowing us down and claiming several casualties, but by nightfall our sector had been cleared. Hopefully tomorrow the storm will clear and our artillery can land, it would be much easier if we could just blast the Jabiimi positions from afar rather than clear them with blaster and blade..."

"I had my doubts about this assignment from the get-go, a sketchy transmission from the Chancellor ordering us into the uncharted region with no apparent purpose and the random Jedi Knight who boarded the Endurance seconds before our jump to hyperspace. I knew that I shouldn't worry, but something about it just didn't sit well in my gut. I spent the majority of the jump reflecting on our last mission, Ryloth, I had lost the majority of the troops under my command on that dustbowl and if it wasn't for Lucky I probably would've died on the rock aswell. When I wasn;t deep in thought I was either inspecting the Bolt-Caster I had picked off a dead Jabimii back on Ryltoh or getting to know the fresh blood in the company. It was during a routine inspection of the troop quarters when the Endurance came to a sudden stop throwing everyone off their feet and not long after that, the first explosions could be heard rippling through the ship. My training soon kicked in and I found myself headed for the bridge to report in, access the situation and receive my orders. Before I could make it there my comlink chirped and the voice of Hotshot, the legion's combat adviser could be heard ordering me to round up my squad and set up a defensive line inside the bridge, apparently we had been boarded. Upon entering the bridge a frantic officer quickly brought me up to speed on our current predicament, informing me that the order to abandon ship had been given and the Admiral wished to scuttle the ship before it could slam into the planet's surface below. Before he could finish the briefing, the blast doors leading into the bridge were violently thrown from where they stood, killing Tango and Ace, along with some of the bridge crew instantly. The firefight which the proceeded to unfold was a brief one due to our superior numbers and firepower, I guess the Jedi helped too. Once the all clear was given the bridge crew along with Admiral Wyndaru and the Jedi knight was quickly ushered to the remaining escape pods, which were boarded and then launched. As my pod spiraled away I managed to catch a glimpse of the Endurance crashing into a floating mass of rock before my pod shook violently and everything went black."

This Stratofortress, nicknamed "Wise Guy," is only the second B-52 to be returned to service from the vast military boneyard (or AMARG) in Tuscon, Arizona where she had been parked since 2008. She was pulled from storage and many long hours were spent making her airworthy again. Once it was cleared to return to the skies, it was ferried gear down to Barksdale AFB, around a week before this photo was taken. Regenerating bombers from the boneyard is a rare occasion and this BUFF was needed to replace another B-52 that was destroyed in a takeoff mishap at Andersen AFB in 2016.

//Shogun stood in the bay of the LAAT, gazing into the yellow plains of dantooine through the half open door. The rest of his squad stood behind him, grasping onto the mesh netting above them to stay upright. The gunship soared across the endless field of grass, low enough to blow the dead stems out of the ground and to leave a trail of compressed sod in it’s trail. Gradually, the endless fields of grass began to turn from immersive towering blades to small stems and dirt.

Blunt hoisted himself onto the republic walker behind the other men on the gunship as both side doors of it's doors unfolded fully.

“Alright boys, these are the coordinates jester gave us. Have fun down there.”

“You heard him boys. let’s go.”

The rear door of the gunship unlatched, and the walker leaped out. Shogun was the next to jump, followed by Killi and Krit. They touched the ground, and a plume of dust materialized from the landing site as the at-rt began to unfold.

“Remember men, we stay low, and watch for any seppies or settlements. We scout until nightfall. Then we contact Muck, and move to the nearest village. Am I understood?,” asked shogun.

“Sir yes sir!”

“Krit, are you picking up any unusual signals?”

“No sir. In fact, I’m not picking up anything aside from our comms.”

“Alright then. Let’s get moving, we have plenty of land to cover.”

Shogun withdrew his macrobinoculars, and the squad began to march.

-

“How’s the leg blunt?” asked krit.

“Ah I'm fine, that bacta really did some miracles for me.”

“But you still get to ride on that thing. Now I'm wishing that I took that fall, my legs are killing me.”

“Yeah that’s what happens when you carry around a big kriffing comms array on your back krit”

“Oh shut up.”

-

“Any luck krit? Are you picking up any signals?”

“No. How could I be? There’s absolutely nothing around. Just a bunch of kriffing dirt.”

“I don’t know, I kinda like it,” Blunt remarked, “It’s nice to see new things around the galaxy.”

“We were bred for war, not sightseeing.”

“There has to be more to life than just war, krit.”

“Not for me.”

-

“Alright men,” Said Shogun, “Let’s stop here. Krit, contact the base camp, update them on what we’ve found.”

“So, nothing.”

“Woah. We have beasts at nine o’ clock,” said blunt.

The men came to a sudden halt.

“What in Kriff are those things?,” Exclaimed krit.

“Thunes,” said shogun.

“What?”

“Thunes.” Shogun paused.

“You’ve seen one of those things before?”

“Protectors like me saw lots of fauna during our training and some like this, we just watched and admired.”

“They’re beautiful,'' Blunt replied.

“The galaxy holds so many beautiful creatures, That's part of the reason why I fight.”

“We should fight for the glory of the republic,” said krit.

“Sure, sure. The republic’s all well and good, but why do you fight?”

“I fight for the republic!”

“But why do you fight for them?”

“I was bred for it. Bred to fight. The Republic is the reason why I am here.”

"Sure, sure.”

Krit paused, and stared at the grey beasts. Shogun and the others trudged on, and krit soon followed.//

China, Beijing, “Birds Egg”, the Nickname for the Grand National Theatre.

The ellipsoid dome of titanium & glass is surrounded by an artificial lake, the entrance is leading into the building after walking through a tunnel like hallway underneath the lake. Small unregularly placed lights installed on the outside shell of the construction seem to blend in with the stars on the sky,…if it is not clouded, but even so

The arts centre containing an opera, music & theatre hall, with a total of seats 5,452 people in the three halls with almost 12,000 m² in size. Construction, designed by French architect Paul Andreu, started in December 2001, the inaugural concert was held in December 2007.

The dome measures 212 mtr by 144 mtr & is 46 meters, seven floors public area high. The main entrance is at the north side. Guests arrive in the building after walking through a hallway that goes underneath the lake.

NICKNAME: Galaar

RANK: ARC Lieutenant Grade 1

UNIT: Vornskr, First Regiment, "Bralor's First", 253rd Elite Clone Legion

The fighting along the temple wall was brutal, but Vornskr held the line, repelling wave after wave of droid infantry until an armored division attached to the 501st led by an young Jedi mounted a counterattack and shattered the droid offensive. Once relived Lieutenant Galaar and his men were summoned the GAR command center by General Kenobi, the lead Jedi General and commander of all operations on Rhen Var. Along with several other ARC troopers from the Two-Fifty-Third, Galaar was briefed of a developing situation within the data archives of Bravo Base. While the troopers had been busy repelling the droid attack an unknown assailant had slipped into the base and accessed the data core. This infiltrator is believed to be a Dark Jedi, a traitor who had followed in the foot steps of Count Dooku. The Dark Jedi had already been engaged by both troopers stationed at Bravo Base and ARC troopers from the Two-Fifty-Third, both were reporting heavy casualties and failure to stop the intruder. The task of intercepting the Dark Jedi and recovering the stolen data now fell on the ten ARC troopers gathered in the command center who General Kenobi would personally lead.

Upon dismissal the ARCs made their way back to their squads, who they hastily briefed before boarding the gunships, doing their best to pass on the most critical parts of the anti-Jedi training they received on Kamino, to the regs under their command.

The flight to Bravo Base was short and the gunships got them as close to the Dark Jedi's last know location as possible, dropping the strike team off in a courtyard within an ancient Jedi temple. Galaar had been tasked with clearing the Northeastern most region of the Temple and lead his men at a slow pace, constantly checking his scopes for any sign of the rouge force user.

The signs of battle were everywhere, burn marks and deep gouges covered the walls, and all around lay the broken corpses of fallen brothers. With a sigh Galaar signaled his to keep moving, there was no way they would be able to stop this "Dark Jedi", Galaar wasn't even sure he had enough training to take one on alone and he knew for sure the regs wouldn't stand a chance. The squad ventured deeper into the temple, leaving the carnage behind as they entered another interior courtyard. Stepping the doorway Galaar's scopes suddenly lit up bright red notifying him of hostile forces along the opposite wall, a squad of B1s and a figure dressed in black robes. Cursing Galaar turned and shouted orders to the troopers behind him.

"Romeo get on the long range comms and notify General Kenobi that we've found the Dark Jedi, relay our coordinates and let the General know that we have been engaged!"

"On it Sir!"

"CT-44-5913! CT-45-2601! Get the Plex and Z6 up here now! We need to block him in, target the opposite entrance and bring it down! Tracker! Take your team and flank left! CT-05-4329 take yours and flank right! We need to overwhelm him, once you start shooting don't let up! Alright Vornskr, let's kill this chakaar!"

Vornskr sprung into action, executing Galaar's orders quickly and with precision, for a moment it looked hopeful, the droids were cut down instantly, and the Dark Jedi appeared to struggle to deflect the overwhelming base of fire. It was when CT-44-5913 fired a rocket at the opposing doorway from his PLX-1 that the plan fell apart. The rocket stopped midflight as if some thing had grabbed it and Galaar watched in horror as it changed direction and slammed into Tracker's team, obliterating the three troopers. Then an invisible force slammed into Galaar knocking him from his feet as the Dark Jedi used the force to send both clone and droid alike hurtling across the courtyard.

Grunting, Galaar dragged himself to his feet, his head was ringing and he could taste blood in his mouth, something was broken. Looking Galaar saw the cloaked figure disappear back into the temple. Galaar knew this was it, he couldn't let him get away, grabbing his blasters Galaar stumbled forward, blasting two droids as they moved to block his path.

Activating his comms, Galaar notified command of his situation...

"This is Lieutenant Galaar, my squad is down, I am in pursuit of the rouge Jedi"

... and with that he disappeared into the temple.

During my first trip to Montana it was easy to see why this state has earned the nickname Big Sky. Amazingly grand and plenty of open unspoiled spaces, I can’t wait until I can go back!

This image was taken at the end of day just out side of Ronan Montana.

A nickname. Small canvas bag from a friend!

For Macro Mondays...Cloth/textile.

Beyond its nickname, Amsterdam has more than one hundred kilometers of canals, about 90 islands and 1,500 bridges. Above all, Amsterdam, is the capital of the Netherlands, the country's largest city and its financial, cultural, and creative centre. Its name derives from the city’s origin as the “Dam” of the river “Amstel”. In the past, the name was "Amstelredamme" which later changed as “Amsterdam”.

The BSA Gold Star has a few nicknames, the most popular of which is "The Star". Additionally, due to its racing success at Daytona, particularly with the Daytona model, it's sometimes referred to as the "Daytona Star". These nicknames reflect the motorcycle's iconic status and its association with speed and racing heritage. It cherished by the "Cafe Bike" culture in England and the U.S, modified for Production road racing. It was further popularized in the U.S. by WERA (Western Eastern Roadracers' Association) in the 70s.

Jaisalmer, nicknamed "The Golden city", is a town in the Indian state of Rajasthan. It is located 575 kilometres west of the state capital Jaipur. It was once known as Jaisalmer state.

Jaisalmer is named after its founder Maharawal Jaisal Singh, a Rajput king in 1156 AD. "Jaisalmer" means "the Hill Fort of Jaisal". Jaisalmer is sometimes called the "Golden City of India" because the yellow sand and the yellow sandstone used in every architecture of the city gives a yellowish-golden tinge to the city and its surrounding area.

The town stands on a ridge of yellowish sandstone, crowned by a fort, which contains the palace and several ornate Jain temples. Many of the houses and temples are finely sculptured. It lies in the heart of the Thar Desert (great Indian desert) and has a population of about 78,000. It is the administrative headquarters of Jaisalmer District.

Nicknamed by it's model number, SRL RPST, the "Serial Rapist" was built to be compact, but imposing as to better control prison riots and unruly crowds. Very few were ordered by departments since they were intended to be a last resort. However, as goverment power increased, more of the VT's were bought and used more extensively. Now, Rapists and other variants including Stalkers and Killers patrol the streets.

The standard Rapist is armed with a sensor array that allows the pilot to hear and see (by means of an advance radar) everything withing a mile radius of the suit. The other mount carries a powerfull 20mm automatic rifle, originally mounted on small military vehicles.

For the average citizen, a Serial Rapist is a symbol of goverment control.

Duxbury Pier lighthouse also called Duxbury Light (nicknamed the "Bug Light") is a lighthouse located in Plymouth Harbor, Massachusetts. Duxbury Pier Light was built in 1871 on the north side of the main channel in Plymouth Harbor to mark the dangerous shoal off Saquish Head. The unusual coffeepot-shaped lighthouse is locally known as "Bug Light" or simply "The Bug." It was the first so-called sparkplug lighthouse in the United States. Application was made to list the lighthouse on the National Register of Historic Places in 2014.

Bug Light survived the Hurricane of 1944 when 30-foot (9.1 m) waves battered the isolated station. Heavy seas on the east side destroyed the fog bell mechanism, the lightkeepers’ boat, and its outhouse. In 1983 Duxbury Pier Light was slated by the Coast Guard to be replaced by a fiberglass tower much like the one that had replaced Boston Harbor's old Deer Island Lighthouse. The Coast Guard had estimated that a renovation of the current structure would have cost $250,000. A group of concerned local residents formed Project Bug Light. A five-year lease was granted to the preservation committee. The Coast Guard sandblasted and painted the structure and did some repair work in 1983; the work was completed in 1985. The Coast Guard spent $100,000 to refurbish the lower half of the lighthouse. Project Bug Light raised $20,000 from local businesses, as well as sales of T-shirts and bumper stickers, a fashion show, baseball games, and raffling a painting. They used this money to restore the upper parts and the interior, including the rebuilding of the roof and the catwalk. At the same time solar power replaced the older battery system. The fog signal was also converted to solar power. In the late 1980s, vandals broke into the lantern room, leaving it susceptible to leaks. The weather deteriorated the wood interior so much that all the wood had to be removed, leaving bare iron walls. After a few years Project Bug Light virtually dissolved as an organization, and the five-year lease expired. In 1993, the Coast Guard again talked of replacing the lighthouse with a fiberglass pole, or at least removing the lantern room. This time, Dr. Don Muirhead of Duxbury, an avid sailor, spearheaded a new preservation effort. The Coast Guard again refurbished the lighthouse in 1996. The volunteers of Project Bug Light continue to do maintenance at the light and have raised more than $80,000 toward the continued preservation of "The Bug." To quote volunteer Edwin Heap, "It's an ugly old historical thing, but we're glad it's been saved."

The black egret nicknamed the UMBRELLA heron! medium sized (66cm) crest on its head, favours shallow waters where prey get trapped in subsiding pools, the egret brings its wings forward, and tucks its head in, to form a complete canopy over its prey, its amazing to see, could watch them for hours, am low at its level to capture this.

Thanking you for your visit, all comments are very appreciated,.Tomx.

Sisi was the nickname of Empress Elisabeth of Austria (1837-1898). The spelling "Sisi" is historical, whereas the spelling "Sissi" refers to a notorious 1950s kitsch film trilogy starring Romy Schneider.

In 1958 Romy Schneider fled to France in order to escape the reputation-damaging Sissi image and to start a serious career. She was very successful there.

In Austria and Germany most people turn their noses up at these Sissi films, but in China they're very popular, especially with girls and young women, and lots of them choose Elisabeth's nickname as hers. When I worked in a Chinese university from 2007 till 2009, about a third of my female students called themselves "Sissi". This is also a very popular name for Chinese female wiener dogs;-)

----------------------------------------

"The attack on Shelter Base had been repelled, but at a heavy cost, our forces lost the bulk of our armor to the Nimbus Commandos and the Jedi General in charge of the entire campaign was confirmed to be dead along with an Alpha-Class ARC trooper. Legion casualties were high as well, my squad was down to quarter strength and comms chatter across the regiment reflected similar losses. Shelter Base wasn't a victory to celebrate, our forces had been crippled and if it weren't for a short break in the atmospheric storm the battle may have ended there. Reinforcements had finally arrived, gunships set down amidst the carnage and began to offload fresh troops, much needed supplies and even a few Jedi. The replacements were a welcome sight, but we had our doubts, there was a distinct lack of heavy armor and weapons, just troopers. It was as if command had decided that the best way to conquer Jabiim was to throw bodies at the rebels until they drowned in a sea of white plastoid. It wasn't long before command had us resume operations, conducting patrols towards the Razor Coast, the alleged Separatist staging ground. The patrols were tedious, trudging through the mud, hunting snipers, defusing mines and destroying Jabiimi hold outs. A Jedi even accompanied us on a few, his presence seemed to ease the boys nerves, he led from the front using the force the detect danger, acting as a sort of early warning system, alerting us to hidden snipers before they could fire and hidden traps moments before they were sprung. He saved my squad multiple times that day and earned my respect. With his help we were even able to raid a Jabiimi outpost nestled amidst some ruins, we took the majority of the Jabiimi rebels alive and through a mix of Jedi mind tricks and Mandalorian teachings we extracted the whereabouts of Alto Stratus. He was at the Razor Coast licking his wounds after his failed raid on Shelter Base. His death would mean the capitulation of Jabiimi Separatist movement, the only problem would be getting through the thousands of battle droids amassed there. A feat which the Jedi deemed nearly impossible, but we're the 253rd, overcoming impossible odds is our specialty..."

While there is a 4.4 out on the 253rd's discord, I'm afraid this will likely be my last build for some time. Also it took me like 4 hours to get a photo I liked. I blame the winter, it's making my lighting is just funky.

Thanks for stopping by and have a good one!

These are photos taken on my trip to Europe and the UK with a girl friend in October to November 2012. My camera I had then wasn't good with low light so some of these shots are not great but I have put them as my memories of the trip.

We woke to a better day after yesterdays cold wet day. Lining up waiting to go up the Eiffel Tower.

The Eiffel Tower is a wrought-iron lattice tower on the Champ de Mars in Paris, France. It is named after the engineer Gustave Eiffel, whose company designed and built the tower.

Locally nicknamed "La dame de fer" (French for "Iron Lady"), it was constructed from 1887 to 1889 as the centrepiece of the 1889 World's Fair and was initially criticised by some of France's leading artists and intellectuals for its design, but it has become a global cultural icon of France and one of the most recognisable structures in the world. The Eiffel Tower is the most visited monument with an entrance fee in the world; 6.91 million people ascended it in 2015. The Tower was made a Monument historique in 1964 and named part of UNESCO World Heritage Site ("Paris, Banks of the Seins") in 1991.
