This series was shot when I was writing for a magazine called Profile. I was doing a piece on BB and accompanied them on the road one day to a gig at an out of town High School. Can't remember the exact town.

I saw the Romantics and Loverboy tonight. It was to cold to wait for any other shows to pop up on the sign. It was 3 when we got out and no idea what the wind chill was. I did not see the B52's.

There'll be days

When i'll stray

I may appear to be

Constantly out of reach

I give in to sin

Because i like to practise what i preach

I'm not trying to say

I'll have it all my way

I'm always willing to learn

When you've got something to teach

And i'll make it all worthwhile

I'll make your heart smile

This is my completed New Wave quilt top made using my precious Neptune by Tula Pink fabrics as well as some of her Prince Charming line. There are 19 different prints in total. Apologies for the less than stellar photo -- taking a picture of a quilt this size indoors in a small house is close to impossible.

The New Wave pattern is by Elizabeth Hartman of Oh, Fransson!. It uses a template to cut the wedge shapes. To make that step faster and easier I purchased an acyrlic version of the template from TabSlot and it was worth every penny. I managed to cut and piece the top in one day (a long day of nothing but sewing, of course.)

I made some small changes to the queen-size version of the pattern. It has you cut 12 wedges from each fabric but then has you use only 11 of them. I didn't want to waste any fabric and I wanted a symmetric quilt so I used all 12 wedges. The pattern also has you square up the top and bottom print rows but I didn't want to have to trim away precious Neptune fabric so I added a row of white wedges to the top and bottom and then squared those up instead. Both of these things had the added benefit of making the quilt larger. The quilt is a large queen size -- 99" x 102".

This is the first quilt I have ever made for my own bed. Since I have also used some of my most precious fabric I have decided, for the first time ever, to send this quilt to a long armer to be quilted. I'm pretty excited to see what she creates.
