This is my completed Charming Neptune Wave quilt!

Fabrics: Prints are rom the lines "Neptune" and "Prince Charming", both by Tula Pink. The white fabric is Robert Kaufman Kona Cotton in white.
Backing: Frog Prince in Indigo from the Prince Charming line. Checkout the matching label on the back here.
Binding: Hex Box in Indigo from the Prince Charming Line

I had some 1/2 yard cuts of Neptune in my stash and when Prince Charming came out I knew that I wanted to use the two lines together. The New Wave pattern seemed perfect -- the pieces are large enough that they can show off the prints and each fabric is showcased really well.
I purchased an acrylic template for the pattern from TabSlot. It made cutting the pieces quick and easy -- I pieced the top in a single (long) day.
I made a few small changes to the pattern. I made the quilt 12 columns wide rather than 11 since you can cut 12 wedges from the yardage that's required. Also, I added an extra white row of wedges to the top and bottom before squaring up the quilt to avoid having to trim away any of the precious Neptune. These two thing make the quilt huge -- it is big enough for a king-size bed (and it made it really hard to take pictures of!)
This quilt was so precious that I knew I wanted to send it out to be professionally quilted. I had "met" Krista Withers in a quilting bee we were in together so she came to mind first. I asked her to do whatever she felt was best for the quilt as long as it was spectacular and what she did is incredible. The quilting is perfect.
I can't believe that I now get to sleep under this every night -- it's almost too special to use.

es difícil explicar lo que significa él, y The Cure (con todas sus formaciones) para mí. Fue la banda sonora continua durante mi época escolar, él fue a la única persona que he tratado de imitar estéticamente (uy, recordemos mi peinado jaja) y no sé. El 30 de diciembre parto a Europa, y tengo la suerte que justo cuando ande en Berlín, el 15 de febrero, voy a PODER ESCUCHARLOS Y VERLOS. Ese día podré declarar que ya no tengo casi nada que hacer en este mundo. Sólo me falta Bowie, aunque claro está que eso es casi imposible dado a que ya ni toca.

we took new wave out for a test sail, to look at the shape of the mainsail, back in february -- such a perfect day on the bay, between storms and just enough sun to make it sparkle...
today, in contrast, is sunny and clear and perfectly still -- i was just up on the top deck with sophie, and we saw a little harbor seal cruising around in the marina, the first time i've ever seen one here! sometimes living on a boat is pretty awesome...
