Our city is under a mask mandate in enclose public areas. I have not seen any people breaking the mandate so it is nice to see everyone cooperating but those videos of people losing their minds over wearing a mask give me a good laugh.

Snow after Filomena storm and polar temperatures in Madrid in January 2021...ah, people are wearing facemasks...new (a) normal

¿seguirá el show?

Row of Docked Hire Bikes in London. Alternative transport with social-distance measures

On a train to London 26th August 2020. I really needed a day out after the long seclusion of Covid 19 Lockdown. The train was mostly empty and central London was very quiet without the hordes of foreign tourists or British tourists. Face Masks have to be worn on public transport in the UK at the moment and it makes sense to be safe and keep others safe.

Tham Kra Sae Bridge was built by war prisoners of WWII. It received the name Death Railway due to the large amount of prisoners that died during the construction of the bridge. Now many people visit the bridge to learn about the history as well as view the incredible structure which is built into the side of a cliff, right next to the powerful Kwai Noi River.

Thanks for the comments yesterday a normal look but with a backstory (don’t they all?)

The #newnormal of bank lineups during the #COVID19 pandemic. Though I don't have any sort of information to support this assumption, anecdotally speaking private security companies appear to be in the midst of a heyday with managing lines and screening. This is downtown Windsor, ON Canada

One of the objectives of our roadtrip was to visit the migrant schools in the town of Mae Sot on the border with Myanmar. My daughter had gathered together a heap of donated clothes, toys and bric a brac as well as raising money from within our own school community to help the Burmese teachers who work at the schools teaching migrant workers' children. The teachers and families live in often desperate conditions and their lives are incredibly difficult.

Despite all the trials these people have to endure we felt nothing but happiness and smiles while we were with them. A very humbling experience

Today's set of pictures are all from Wat Rong Khun, also known as the White Temple. It is a Buddhist temple with a difference. Built on the site of an old dilapidated temple, eclectic Thai artist Chalermchai Kositpipat footed the bill to design and construct a contemporary and unusual temple which doubles as an art exhibition. The juxtaposition of both traditional Buddhist themes and modern influences, including murals of Mickey Mouse, Superman, Kung Fu Panda and Michael Jackson, all add to the intrigue and surprise of this famous tourist attraction. Visitors will also get to see a Wolverine hand, aliens, peace signs, guns, and various cheeky and quirky innuendos.

Most temples in Thailand are gold but Wat Rong Khun is white, the artist felt that gold “was suitable to people who lust for evil deeds”. Wander around and see the Bridge of the Cycle of Rebirth which leads to the Gates of Heaven. You’ll see two guardians and outstretched hands represent temptations and worldly desires like greed, lust, alcohol.

Elephant POOPOOPAPER Park is an eco-friendly, naturally built, outdoor museum park that introduces and explains the unique steps involved in making our much talked about paper products from elephant poop fibres!

The interpretive walking tour through our lush gardens brings visitors through eight different pavilions explaining each stage of our fascinating process from poo collection to rinsing to final product assembly. Visitors are encouraged to pull up a stool, roll up their sleeves and join together with our talented artisans and guides and participate in our head-turning process!

While we were in Chiang Rai we decided to go to a Thai Cooking School for something different and fun to do. While we were there we made Tom Yum Soup, Papaya Salad, Green Curry and Mango and Sticky Rice

There are more than 30 murals like this along a street near the Historic Park in Sukhothai. Some depict historical scenes, others religious while some just show scenes of everyday life

HTT........at this time on a monday, the third lunch would be out playing. our schools are closed for the 2019-2020 year, summer camps may not open this summer, the HS sailing team's boats sit idle at the lake, kids are graduating via zoom, and parents and kids are doing school visitations, virtually, hoping they can start college in the fall.

Having a little chillout gossip - so much better than a Zoom chat or wearing masks ;)

Still can't toss a coin and share my indecision in both colour and bw versions...

This lady had a lot of gear with which to take her selfie. I did offer to take one for her but I think she wanted to make sure that she used her gear after all the effort of getting it here

Not sure what this crop is - sugar cane perhaps? Makes for a comfy seat

I am trying to find new make up options and to be honest especially with a more natural look but my options have left things either to unnatural or too thin and not covering as I would like. This one was ok in light but dark shadows seems to show more and more. Currently getting use to Il makiage so fingers crossed

We popped into the folk museum in the city of Phitsanulok and one corner was dedicated to how to get rid of agricultural pests. This snake guillotine particularly caught my eye - apparently it does work but I have my doubts

La Rambla de Catalunya is a rambling street full of tourists, locals and the rest.

I try to find persons of interest to me that exude a unique style in dress, and behavior, just to name a few attributes.

But what I'm finding is that just about everyone is strange and that strange is the new normal ... and that is boring to me.

And, that the old normal is now the new strange ... and that I like.

For example, I see many women with redefined noses, breasts, and perfect WHITE teeth ... and that's okay by me ... but boring.

I seem to gravitate to the person who speaks with a whimsical lisp, crooked teeth, hair mussed, wears glasses, dresses casually and just down right earthy.

I feel the person in the photo is one of those people and I choose her!

Well, what ever they call you, make sure they are social about it and do it from a distance.

Play your part and be apart - we're all in this together, maybe the world will unite more now?

The new normal of shopping at Home Depot... order online, wait for the confirmation email (2 days later), drive over, queue up, park in a designated spot, and have the order placed in the trunk of the car, all contactless.

Hand sanitiser, sanitiser spray and masks. We haven't had to wear masks yet as neither of us have been anywhere but we have them ready just in case.

Portrait of the Cinco de Mayo celebration in Old Town San Diego (5/1/2021). Kudos to the dancers who performed with face shields, just one of the realities in the time of covid.
