Access was limited on the site, but I as able to view the scope of the whole project. I was located on the eastern side of the project which had little equipment to photograph. I saw this bulldozer and discovered a strength behind the coarse metal.

On a cold January morning with the sun against my back, this no trespassing sign gave me chills as this clearly defined the purpose of this project. Earth moving equipment would change the landscape for the purpose of acquiring more tax money.

Newly developed and large-scale housing complexes and the expansion of a developing city have caused issues for the original residents of the neighborhoods, whose family members have lived there for generations. Septic issues, stormwater runoff, overflowing ditches and flooding, shoreline erosion, and water accessibility are just some of the issues worsened by the new developments surrounding this historically African-American neighborhood. Walking away from the equipment and heading uphill toward a better view of the landscape, this noticeable tree trunk stuck out from the mass clearing. Being that I was already muddy, I knelled close to the ground concentrating on the tree's base while the machines looked like ghosts in the background.
