……This may need a little explanation - there are new houses being constructed on the site of the Creamery where I worked for 33 years. When I started in 1980 the new drier block had just been built - that’s the tall buildings in the middle, I was eventually production manager of that department. After several years and moving around the departments there I ended up in the finance department in the Admin block by the the left hand new house - the two NEW houses you see are now on the site of that Admin block. There are to be some 130 houses in total covering the whole site - at least this was a Brown Field development!
If you’ve ever spread Country Life butter or Clover Spread on your toast then this is where it would have been made. The site was also home to an innovative R&D department where a plethora of new development dairy products began their life and are still in common use still today…..
The two images were ’slid’ into place especially for Sliders Sunday as an ‘in camera’ double exposure of two images on my Mac - one originally from my Phone the other day & the other was a shot from across the fields on my last day before retirement in July 2012 (see 1st comment box). Happy Sliders Sunday to all, Alan:-) HFF…..

This newly constructed 5-plex in Pond Inlet stands as a vibrant symbol of community investment and support, made possible by the taxpayers of Canada.
With its bright orange exterior and modern design, the building provides essential housing in one of the country’s most remote Arctic communities. Set against the dramatic backdrop of snow-covered mountains, it reflects a commitment to improving infrastructure and quality of life in Nunavut’s northern settlements.

I've been in this area for about 40 years and until about 2 years ago this area had always been farmland.. SW 209th was the dividing line for the Urban Boundry and it was strange to see total development on the east side and farms on the west side... I really like what I'm seeing so far and I like to drive the new streets instead of the highway... Happy Fence Friday, Everybody!!!
This is what I see from my new home in Ankara..quite often with flocks of birds foraging around for food on the fields opposite me.
And I'll soon be 'in the direction'' of Istanbul as we have a long religious holiday. Before leaving,I'll try to catch up as much as possible, albeit slowly..sorry if I cannot catch up with everybody. But sooner or later,I will..you know that:)
Wish you a wonderful week:)

This is the latest new development in Chesham. After demolishing the old house on this large plot, four new apartments and four new houses are being built. The picture gives an artist's impression of the development. like all modern homes, they look well built. The apartments ar vin front and the houses behind.
Chesham as a town hasn't increased in size since the 1960s, all recent developments have been on 'brown field' sites in the town, without encroaching on the surrounding countryside.
Cambridge is full of construction at the moment. The hospital site in particular has been a site of serious change.
This was taken at sunrise. It was quite a scene. The construction was underway. Beeps and buzzes. Clashes and clangs. The access road was rammed with inbound traffic and the train line (which you may or may not be able to see as a streak of light in the foreground) was ferrying passengers to London for a day of work.
After living here for 32 years, I can firmly state that sleepy(ish) Cambridge is changing at a rapid rate.
