This trail loops around an area of slickrock where there are numerous potholes. These basins in the sandstone retain water after storms. The trail offers great views of The Needles in the distance. The trailhead is located along the Big Spring Overlook road in the Needles District of Canyonlands National Park, Utah, near the end of the road. The trail informs visitors about the little shrimp that thrive in the potholes of the slickrock when they are full of water.

We know that all the planets of the Solar System revolve around the Sun following an elliptical orbit. These orbits are, more or less, in the same plane. Therefore, sometimes it can happen that the planets are aligned from the point of view of the Earth. This arrangement of planets, which is visible from the sky after sunset, creates an optical illusion of proximity between them. Therefore, from our perspective, they appear very close in the sky and we say that they are in conjunction. For example, between Jupiter and Saturn the conjunction occurs more or less every 20 years.

Sabemos que todos los planetas del Sistema Solar giran en alrededor del Sol siguiendo una órbita elíptica. Estas órbitas están, más o menos, en un mismo plano. Por tanto, en ocasiones puede ocurrir que los planetas se alineen desde el punto de vista de la Tierra. Esta disposición de planetas, que es visible desde el cielo después de la puesta de Sol, crea una ilusión óptica de proximidad entre ellos. Por tanto, desde nuestra perspectiva, aparecen muy próximos en el cielo y decimos que están en conjunción. Por ejemplo, entre Júpiter y Saturno la conjunción ocurre más o menos cada 20 años.
