Volume five features the return journey to London and forms a continuation from Volume 4. This time however the return journey is completed via Tilbury. From the cab we witness junctions and stations along the route. Private sidings and disused facilities are also mentioned. Fenchurch Street is reached in good time.

Network Rail Balfour Beaty Tamper DR73938 passing Redhil en route from Three Bridges to Romford Engineers' sidings
(5/7) Had a little fun today. This is one of our comms cabs at work. I don't usually work summer holidays but we're doing a complete network rebuild so I'm working till we're done. That's my boss in there by the way, hehe - he thinks I'm nuts!
Network Rail Class 73/1 Electro-diesel 73138 leads 1Q84, a Derby RTC to Woking test train, through Earley station. The train had passed this way just a few minutes earlier on its way to Reading. Class 31/4 31465 is on the rear.
The clip is not very steady which I apologise for but seeing the test train in motion gives it a little more interest. I was not expecting to see this as I was on my way to Stevenage. You have to grab your chances when you can.
