There should be a trust-process that includes several parties. That is, in the words of James Madison, while they may distrust each others’ ambitions, they may trust a process designed where “ambition counteracts ambitions” (Ammori & Poellet, 2010).

Comcast plans to watch emails from specific users to monitor ‘behaviour patterns’, the redirection to ‘questionable sites’ will result in users being automatically sent a Comcast search page with sponsored results, and users trying to access sites using free software or operating systems will see their connection speed dramatically reduced.

Facebook...Twitter... What almost every teenager and college student uses the internet for the majority of the time.

Net neutrality proponents are ultimately pushing for a uniform system of old-style regulation on a currently vibrant medium. That is, by trying to make broadband network providers treat everyone in the same manner, neutrality proponents call for a regime that Precursor analyst Scott Cleland labels "sameness." ISPs favor a capitalistic approach which does not support net neutrality.
