EXPLORE # 3
A partial solar eclipse as seen today in Manila, Philippines. A total solar eclipse was seen in India, China. Photographed at 9:14 am. I used a lighted candle blackened glass pane to filter the sun's brightness.

The Big Telecoms are all spying on each of us on the unconstitutional behalf of our government, which Obama will never do anything about, & they are giving huge sums of payola to our congressional representatives & senators, many of whom lie criminally in bed with them, where, yes, whores & Johns that they are, They feel each other up.
You might want to address an email to the Great American Brothel - that is, Washington, DC - or you might prefer to feel helpless & hopeless, & await the certain & unpleasant fate that these entwined vipers will soon enough bring to you in forms much worse than the ones already slapping your face.

SAVE THE INTERNET
What is this about?
What is Net Neutrality?
Who wants to get rid of Net Neutrality?
Is Net Neutrality a new regulation?
Isn't the threat to Net Neutrality just hypothetical?
Isn't this just a battle between giant corporations?
What else are the phone and cable companies not telling the truth about?
What's at stake if we lose Net Neutrality?
What's happening in Congress?
Who's part of the SavetheInternet.com Coalition?
Who else supports Net Neutrality?
What can I do to help?
WHAT I wrote to my congressman, Rep. Rick Larsen (D) WA, because he sneakily sent a letter to the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) opposing net neutrality:
FCC: Stand Firm for Net Neutrality
Dear Rep. Rick Larsen:
Net neutrality is to the internet what freedom to express, print & distribute information & opinion is to the press. Opposition to net neutrality in order to obtain campaign funds or other perks from corporations & their lobbyists is not really any legislator's assertion of opinion, as some legislators pretend, but is a crime against the republic.
Make net neutrality permanent. Support net neutrality or lose my support & the support of everyone I know. A nation in which corporations dictate the formation of public policy & legislation of that policy into law by corrupting its politicians is ... well, how would you finish this sentence, Mr. Larsen?
Sincerely ...

Lights and colours. Time Square, Broadway, The Theater District. This town lights up and becomes even more alive than in the day time, if that is possible. People are out in the streets all night long, like a big party.
My friend Eli and I were driving through this spectacle with me sticking my head out the skylight window, even though it was raining, and snapping away with my camera in all directions. There wasn't a bad angle to be found. All were exciting and all were wonderfully colourful and bright.
I have always wondered what is it about this city that makes people feel this way about it. It is legendary and glamorous. Hyped by the media, and especially made popular through film over the years. So many in the visual arts, theater, cinema and music have considered it to be the ultimate place to “make it”.

Even the cars love Sin City.
Sometimes, at 2 in the morning,
I've seen cars playing the slot machines.
They usually sit right next to Elvis.
In my mind I conjure up images from post holocaust documentary films of the death camps taken by the allied forces. Bodies piled up one on top of the other, as the bulldozers would shovel them into the massive graves. Trees symbolize life. Cut down gives me an ominous feeling that foreshadows an end of humanity.
These photographs were taken in Canada where the lumber industry is well regulated to maintain the forests. As the grown trees are cut down there are young ones planted to keep replenishing the tree population. Nevertheless the feeling of sadness and doom is ever present.

Sometimes just a streetlight and a smoke stack protruding out from the street’s asphalt surface, are sufficient icons to identify the unmistakable characteristics of a city like New York.
This was shot on Kodachrome film. One of very few not shot digitally in my stream.

Her intense look was intimidating. So much so that it was hard to stay focused on the task at hand. Just a simple portrait of a classic beauty.
Great photography requires dedication, time and effort.
But above all there are costs involved as well.

I need inspiration. You think just because you are crawling about, half naked, with your undone brazier, practically falling off, almost revealing your breasts, you think that would be inspiring to me? You think just because I am a man, that is all I would need for inspiration? Just because you have all the moves and because everyone of those moves is saying "come here and take me, because I desire you", you’d think I would be moved. Moved to create. No way! I would rather just be sitting here looking at you. Watching you squirm and wriggle. Giving me those looks with your eyes and your whole body. And anyway, I don't believe you. You make a passionate plea. Almost convincing and yet you do not persuade. We have history, you and I. History that will not be forgotten any time soon. "Live in the moment!" you say. And I want to. I want to so desperately, but I fear the disappointment. I fear being let down as I have been let down so many times before. So keep your sensual wriggles. Your sexual displays that you do, oh, so well. I need to ignore them. To observe but not participate. I need to be a camera not a photographer. All be it a passionate camera, but a camera just the same.
And now I have your soul.

This photo was taken by the very talented Rejetto. He was kind enough to allow me to do what you see above with his existing peerless image. Saul Bass was always a personal favorite and this is personal homage to him as well as my two best fishes. I hope you will thank him for his generosity by following the link and see (and favorite) his other fine works.
Neither Bree nor I needed to consult the books in this amazing collection. We found inspiration in each other. A calm trusting environment lends for creativity that transcends inspiration, even design. If the foundation is there, creativity is all one needs for art to emerge.
