You just won't believe how unbelievably huge WDR is - I mean you might think it's a long walk from the Newsroom to the Control Room in Bush House but that's just chicken feed compared to getting from one end of the Westdeutsche Rundfunk's radio building to the other...
Also I now see where the idea of shops under radio studios may have come from.
Incidentally, I just used Google to translante the WDR web site and it came up with this cracker: "The WDR is not responsible for contents of strange sides, which are reached by means of a left.". So that'll be 'WDR is not responsible for external links on the left-hand navbar' then!

Vintage neon sign, Farmer's Jewelry, 821 Euclid Ave, Lexington KY - April 2010. I had shot the east side of this sign in morning sun elsewhere in my Roadside Nostalgia set, and finally got around to shooting the less-obstructed west side in afternoon light. Note the elaborate steel supports on the roof.
If the Gideons didn't place a bible in your room, you could always cop one from the vacuum dealer next door...
Seen while walking around San Francisco last April. I'll be in SF again this week. Mostly inside the Moscone Center but I may sneak out once in a while.
And here I was really going for the contrast of this lot full of broken down neon signs, in the middle of working class neighborhood. It was odd.
I nearly walked past this exhibit as it was hidden in the corner of the gallery. I tried using fill flash and then no flash but the exposure still wasn't perfect. I had to mess around with the aperture to get this half-decent shot, then I later adjusted the levels, brightness. Also increased some colour levels to bring out the brick work.
I really need to get a notebook to get my facts right, but I am pretty sure this is an exhibit by Jayne Lawless for the Liverpool Art Prize.
