Picked up the 2X converter to try out on some moon captures in the future, some far to reach animals when traveling, and for the convergence of Jupiter and Saturn.

With a clear cold and windy night tried out the converter on my 300mm making it 600mm. The two planets now are on opposite ends of the full frame ... but within two weeks they should be a lot closer ... about 1/5th the moon diameter apparent as seen in the sky.

Tried some various shutter speeds and ISO combinations to see what worked well.

The capture here is a combination of two captures, one centered on Jupiter and the other on Saturn. Then I brought the two together in Photoshop. They should be a lot closer than this come 12/21/20. Hoping for some clear nights as they get closer.

Will practice some other settings and live view focusing as that time approaches to see if even crisper images of the planets can be taken with the 300/2X combination.

If you view large, you can see the rings on Saturn, and also you can see 4 of the larger moons around Jupiter.

Neighbor cat looks like a fashion model

and he knows that

Was saddened to learn of there passing of my neighbor Evelynne ysterday. Reminded me of this iconic image I captured of her and her husband back in 2015. Encountered the couple on their front lawn awaiting the arrival of the Memorial Day parade en route to the local cemetery. Seeing them there with their canes and the old WWII flag in the background, it was so Norman Rockwell. I later presented them with a print of this photo and their obvious delight made me feel wonderful. Evelynne loved sitting in this rocking chair, and it was normally kept on the porch behind her. I would often pass by and see her relaxing there all by herself. I returned to the house this morning and found the empty chair, still sitting on the porch, looking utterly forlorn. I instinctively photographed the chair, just as I found it, much the way instincts led me to photograph the smiling couple on that Memorial Day.

My neighbors got a cute set-up.

Our neighbor's kittens were born just a few days ago, and I got to visit them yesterday. They have two white ones that may end up as Siamese, one gray, and one tortoise shell. For now they're staying in the garage, but I'm sure that when they get older and more mischievous they'll be kicked out. ;)

We have had many storms lately. Everything is warm, soft, green, damp, and all things are growing.

I'm writing my last paper of the year today - my internal excitement meter is about to bubble over!

Random Question of the Day: Do you have a dream photo/photoshoot in your mind that you would really love to capture, but can't because of distance, time, not enough skill, etc.?

My little neighbors are looking through the window to see if I'm awake.

Thanks for looking.

Thought I'd kick off my first photo of a shed using this one that belongs to my neighbour. Sometimes she rents this out for someone to live in and sometimes she uses it for storage. I haven't seen anyone in there so at the moment I think it is unoccupied.

Taken at Maihaugen Open Air Museum north of Oslo, Norway

name of "LOVE" She is usually in Home. I was lucky to see.

This is very much like my Falling in Love but didn't see a tag on it.. It's a little fuller in number of petals...

shutter speed 1,3...no tripod (and no oxygen :))....I did my best..
