Another neigh picture. At the time of taking this I tried to follow up with a picture of Mouse on Summer (the new arrival), but this one had jammed slightly in the camera and didn't come out cleanly. This must have prised the rollers open a bit as the next one came out far too easily and didn't actually develop. But, hey, at least after over a year of having ponies I finally got two pictures of one of them.
Neigh! I've passed this strange 'equine' chimney pot many times before (I've photographed it before) but today the bright winter sun demanded that I take another shot!
Where in the heck did this guy come from? He/she was about 3 feet tall! Stood out among the pidgeons and wrens that usually hang out here...

Rider: Aaron Geminai(Riku.Darkthorn... alt of Princess.Nebula)
Location: maps.secondlife.com/secondlife/Ferguson/44/184/56
It started as a bright, uneventful day. Aaron was spending some time with his newly acquired Mare, Austin. He had planned to adjust her Western Gear and get some pleasure riding in, however, the more he attempted to get her situated... the more clear it became that she had no interest in doing any of that today.
Aaron could only shake his head and chuckle. "Alright girl I get it. Let's try something else then." He put away the normal tack and came back with a pile of something a little more... special. He had been saving her new diamond encrusted bridle for a gift but had no idea when the proper time would be suited for it. Perhaps today was that day, as the Campion's eyes became fixed on the shiny rocks and bridle he held.
"Oh, you like that huh?" He teased as he reached to give her a proper scritch scratch behind the ears as she knocked at him excitedly with her nose.
"Okay, okay!" She had nearly taken him off his feet in her apparent joy, and he got her geared up and adjusted. Along with the bridle he had brought out a silken black blanket with embroidered butterflies... a gift from his sister to celebrate his new horse. Along with padding to ride atop it, he draped both over the horse before hoisting himself up to take her for a ride.
There had been some chatter about trail rides, and Aaron happened to have heard that one was already starting in a nearby town, so he hurried Austin along to meet the group. They were a little late, but managed to catch up with them in the Sansara Regions. Hoping that Austin would enjoy a group ride, he settled in line with her, riding alongside many others as they mozied on down the main road to no incoming traffic.
Austin took well to riding along with the others, listening and staying calm, keeping to her lane, and taking gentle influencing commands from Aaron as they continued down the path. Occasionally they would be met by people on the street. They would stop and wave, say hello to the oncoming riders. Aaron found this relaxing and exciting, hoping that Austin would feel the same. As the group began to encounter a downtown area though, it was the Mare who took control of the ride.
Bright colors of shop displays and buildings along the street lit up the path, but the brightest and most tempting reason of all to stray from the group happened to be a lovely little produce stand left out in the open. This caught Austin's attention quickly, and she steered herself and Aaron out of the group and directly to the side street where she would ignore all of her Rider's input! The only thing that stopped her was the sweet smell of fruits and veggies which called to her, and as the rest of the group had continued, Aaron found himself stuck looking down on a smorgasbord of tasty treats that his new partner had clearly chosen for them.
No matter what coaxing he attempted, Aaron clearly was not getting through to Austin. He didn't show anger though. He didn't want that as part of their new relationship... and even moreso because he found the humor in all of this. He knew he shouldn't encourage this behavior at all, but he couldn't help but begin to laugh as he dug out his wallet to purchase a nice shiny, juicy apple... all to the girl's delight. With a satisfying munch of her reward, she was finally ready to continue with their original agenda... if they could catch up now to the rest of the group...

Kilchii and I have come so far since I adopted him. I can't believe how lucky I was to not only find a gorgeous mustang, but one with the best personality ever. He's literally like a dog. From sleeping in my lap, to licking my hands, to chasing me around and neighing to me when I call him. We've bonded so quickly and have become best friends.
I still remember how spooked and frightened he was the first day I got him and I just so badly wanted to gain his trust. The first time I ever worked with him I just sat in the round pen and walked around a bit so he could figure out what I was. Once he started getting curious I began getting closer to him. I was probably in the round pen for a couple hours before I could finally get a lead rope on him. From the moment we touched, I knew he would quickly become my friend. After the first week, every time I came to work with him, he would always come to the gate and wait to greet me.
He was still incredibly hard to train since he was scared and spooked at anything new I showed him. Desensitizing him to saddle blankets was at the top of my list. With plenty of patience and hours of working with him step-by-step he eventually started getting better. His mind set even changed. He now thinks before moving his feet, which was such a big and amazing improvement! He has surprised me so much with how hard he has tried to please me and I am so proud of how he's turned out, especially knowing I'm the only human that has ever worked with him. He knows all the ground work skills and even some riding skills. He's a pro at lunging and tracks up amazingly, he knows flexing of the neck, leg aids, driving and more.
I just love this horse so much and could never give him up. I still can't thank the Extreme Mustang Makeover and BLM enough for the opportunity to train and later adopt such an amazing horse! I'm one proud mustang owner and can't stop bragging about how lucky I am. Mustangs are one of the most fascinating & all-round great breeds I know. I've seen what they can do and I'm just blown away, especially by my Kilchii. - Lydia Smith, BLM wild horse adopter
What a wonderful testament to the connection between one of America's mustangs and a horse loving teenager! It is something we never tire of hearing about; the unique bond adopters form with their mustang when they get past the hurdle of the first touch and continue down the training trail as a team.
This poor girl. The horse was neighing and whinnying in her face at top volume and she just stood there and took it.
"My treasures do not clink together or glitter; They gleam in the sun and neigh in the night."
