So I spot this unit and I'm getting a photo of this, in Barr Lake area there's no over night parking..
I assume this Monarch Butterfly was taking a drink from the dew on this yellow rose. A misty morning in the Rose Garden at the Huntington Library had gven way to sunshine !!
This is an old house in Vancouver near the Academy smokestack. I know nothing about it except that it's cool and I'm going to go back and take pics of it when I'm not parked in a towing zone and it's not raining.
Addendum: I found out that it is called the Laundry House and is part of the Providence Academy complex, which was, at one time, an orphanage.
I should have ironed this before i took the photos but it was a work in progress at the time as i had shortened the bodice a little and that in turn raised the skirt.
This was a practice run about would it look alright. It does so i am happy.
Yesterday was just a real life day what with a little gardening not much makeup and a spot of sewing.
Thanks to the fantastic Rick Webb for letting us stay at his place in NY, and to Mo Mo Mo for collaborating on this. I do not own 19 ipads. Now featured on the very app page that I used to make this app.net/bigwords
This needs the theme from Jaws. Grove / Brown-lipped Snail (Cepaea nemoralis) - the shell is about 25mm across. In American, I think that's about the size of a basketball. Admit it, if you watched until the end, you were hoping that it would fall off the branch.
Sort of Escargot on the hoof. . .
If you click on the double arrows in the upper right, you can view almost full screen. Do this at dinner the next time your kids won't put down their phones.

Trying to get shots of the eyes from a child who usually avoids eye contact - Love the suprised look here!
Goodness, the next back yard off the long lost Francis Street stub shows it really needs upkeep. This is as lost as Jerrod and Ivanca and is the next view on my stroll. You can barely see the next house through the yard that seldom sees a mower and requires a blanket for a picnic. HA! Yes, this shot is IN town... and it is fenced but there is no space in the shed. Maybe some realtor is trying to get this lot sold.
Hang on, I just got a robo call from India I need to blister. I am looking up Nixon's SSN right now on Google even if he is already dead. It should work. I found an SSN for Trump once.
My investigation into the lost-in-time Francis Street stub by the railroad tracks got interesting after I walked a very few feet. I may have to make another clean up pass here in the future. This town scene is a bit archaic by a century if not several decades. Boy. this area in town still looks awfully rural. There are other old back yards here.
When I found the dirt stub of Francis Street south of Spruce Avenue on Google Maps, I decided to scope it out. I shot the Pied Piper sidewalk and crossed Spruce to find the dirt street stub of Francis and foliage fence. This lost dirt street ended up being a worthwhile stroll with my camera so I spent time poking. Even Google maps fouled up some street names here. This spot is surrounded by city but certainly does not look like it. I guess that I better follow the dirt road time has squashed to its dregs. People actually live down this (street). I found a local history book title to track down for filling in some early history that is still missing but I will need to travel to find it.
The skies looked like they were going to be blank for the day without backgrounds I can use for photography. Preferably, that should happen on a load of temperate days in the near future.
needs some minor updates, seen this vehicle in a megabloks set but im making a halo moc so i thought this would be a nice addition!
Tai-Le is available for adoption at Woods Humane Society in San Luis Obispo. He's really affectionate, outgoing, and stunningly handsome. However, he needs daily treatment which includes tooth brushing. If you are up to the task, check him out at Woods. He's a real catch!

It needs some improvement. To become a photo piece. A background and some small additional light. Just t present quit sober trains.
From making it, I learned. As expected and needed. Working in a small scale requires more eye on the general impression, the atmospheric concept. Details? well this comes a the border of the human eyes
This photo is meant atmospheric. just a try. About a could be scene, somewhere in the mid sixties. That is where the train lay out is abut
It is about that time on a common single line, a main line. Lets say in rural West-Germany . adds? holiday trains to come with some international coaches from France, Italy, Switzerland , the Netherlands. Lots of goods traffic. Cargo was an unknown word then.
And not too many trains running. A lot of preparation is now in progress.
The running machine Is a Fleischmann model of some years ago. the V100 1186. .A V100.1 , Later 211 baureihe. The first series of the program. With a bit less motorpower, and some slightly changes at the dashboard, like 1 gear less. For model train makers still a hard model. There is not much space beside the motor. A digital decoder is possible. But not recommended to add later, unless you are expert in adding decoders.. Sound is also a problem. The latest model version is from minitrix. It has no sound. That is understandable.
As I don't drive digital, this is beyond my scope. For digital drivers, this model is a challenge or a bully when sound has t be included.
Lots of digital tracks works with complete trains. A suggestion can be to add somehow a sound module in a (closed) car or a coach. But best option maybe is accept no sound. As f.e. a V60 handles the same problem; with as add lighting is also difficult.
All V100 trains in N has roots in the seventies. Fleischmann and Minitrix has models that define N as modeltrain. Lead away from the toy train imago. Arnold stepped in too and used the model to intoduce the simplex coppling. Meaning uncopple rails could be past. As these all have a bit unrealistic appeal. V1000's defining a weird gap late 70s : no toy model. Lima entered it in 1979. It did not look that bad. Just ran as crap. Given the prices, a second hand Minitrix, Arnold or Fleischmann is worth money. on Arnold be aware Arnold use a slithy different rail width. Usage on non Arnold tracks could lead to derailing. My personal choice is this one.
This one really needs you to hit "L" and "F11" to get the full effect.
I didn't put this up at the time but it did appear in the January 2015 Rail Express so I suppose I need to add it so it can go in my published images album.
The published image was cropped down such that the ship had lost it's funnel.
The date is Saturday 11th October 2014 and I've called in after a morning shift, a morning that saw black skies with some beautiful patches of glorious light breaking through for short periods. After my arrival I sat for quite some time waiting for the sun to pop it's head out one more time but of course it didn't.
The occasion, of course, is the repatriation of 59003 to this country. Having been unloaded from it's ship it sits in Mineral Quay Sidings, Immingham over the weekend of 11th & 12th October before being towed to Eastleigh on Monday 13th October.
Mineral Quay sidings are predominantly used by GBRf to store their wagon sets over the weekend and they also store the odd loco here, generally one will sit here a seen in this shot then upon arrival of another empty coal set the engine from the later arriving coal set will couple up to the loco seen here and the pair will run light to Doncaster Roberts Road.
59003 & 66703.
