Eighteen 4-H youth ages 8 and older practiced beginning sewing skills while constructing pajama pants or shorts at the "4-H Jammie Jamboree" sewing workshop on March 3, 2018. Youth brought their sewing machine, sewing supplies, choice of fabric and pajama bottom pattern.
4-H'ers learned how to cut and measure fabric, use a pattern, use an iron to neatly press open seams, and thread and sew. Each sewer also had the opportunity to use a serger machine to finish seam edges.
Fair Clothing Superintendents hosted the workshop. Adult volunteers and parents were on hand for one-on-one guidance.
