Zuvor hatte das Eichhörnchen die Rinde vom Zweig etwas weiter oben angeknabbert, mit dem Wissen das es nicht lange dauert bis der leckere Zellsaft aus der Wunde läuft.
Auch dem Foto ist gut zu sehen wie er es genüsslich aufleckt. Eine seltenen Gelegenheit die kleine Zunge vom Eichhörnchen auf einem Foto festzuhalten.
Bei Birken wurde ein Druck von 300 Bar gemessen mit dem der Zellsaft durch die Leitbündel unter der Rinder nach oben gedrückt wird um bald die Blätter zu entfalten.
