My haircutter's dog Nova is a sweet Chihuahua, and is growing up to be a very fine canine model. She's still getting used to the flash, but naturally looks at the camera.
I was at a dealership looking to buy a car when I looked up and saw this spectacular opportunity for a simplistic photo. I particularly loved how the sun was aligned with one of the lightbulbs and how the sunlight radiated outwards in a circle.
Naturally formed, this little snow sculpture, looking like a tiny snowman, perches on the edge of Prince Arthur's Cairn above Balmoral in the Scottish Highlands.
This is the wall of Devil's Canyon where the ancient lava flows have created layer upon layer of abstract patterns of columnar basalt.
This cactus type plant seemed to curl by itself without any help from curling irons.

This year I experimented with natural dying. I tried many different dyes at different times ( a few minutes to a whole day) and I was so happy with the results. :o) I think my favorite part was not knowing what color would come out of the jar the next day. Who knew hibiscus would be black or that red cabbage would be blue?
Oh, and happy Easter!
Carbo is naturally gorgeous all the time - even when rolling in dead (hopefully only hibernating) plants. :-) Oh excuse me, she says she was helping me garden! :-D

Natural Bridge
Natural Bridge State Park
Kentucky
On this beautiful winter morning following an overnight snowstorm we spent quite a bit of time shooting from Lookout Point at Kentucky's Natural Bridge State Park we finally turned our attention at the reason we had made the hike, to photograph Natural Bridge. We made the ridge top hike and crossed over the bridge taking in the soaring view then headed down below. The natural arch is impressive, at 78 ft across and 65 feet high. Although it is very cool, the area beneath the bridge is very "state park", as there is a wood fence that surrounds the base only that only allows a visitor just pass under and around it. Nonetheless we found a cool perspective to shoot the bridge from below and I don't think we could have picked a better time to pay this place a visit although I'm itching to shoot the bridge in October.
I've been dabbling in portrait photography quite a bit of late. This is from a recent photo session with my friend and her son. I got the idea from this great photo by mhaight.
Along the Lake Michigan Shoreline of Doctor's Point in Fox Point, a wood stump is buried in the sand as water rushes towards it.
