Talking with the media persons here today Grewal questioned the logic behind the suggestions that Army should have been involved in the operation at Dinanagar, Punjab. He said that he surprised over so much fuss in certain quarters for not involving the Army in the operation when the Punjab Police were perfectly competent to do the job which they did so well with great confidence and courage and sacrificed precious lives in the process. Grewal said that the way the Punjab Police personnel, commandos and SWAT carried out the operation, they had not only boosted the moral of the police across the Punjab State, but also reaffirmed people’s faith and confidence in their capacity and competence. Grewal said that there are five commando battalions in our Punjab Police besides the specially-trained SWAT personnel.

National Bharatiya Janata Party Leader from Punjab and BJP Kisan Morcha National Secretary Advocate Sukhminderpal Singh Grewal write a letter to Sr. Sukhbir Singh Badal President, Shiromani Akali Dal ( SAD ) and Deputy Chief Minister and Power Minister Government of Punjab regarding PSPCL for providing good services to the Consumers of Punjab. According from our sources Grewal stated to Sr. Badal that our SAD-BJP Punjab Government has made several efforts to boost the industrial sector in Punjab state. Due to these efforts of SAD-BJP Government as result several business houses are keen to invest in our Punjab. Our Punjab Government had undertaken many power reforms to further facilitate Industrial Houses such as unbundling Punjab State Electricity Board into Punjab State Power Corporation Limited (PSPCL). The intent was to increase the efficiency but unfortunately the Punjab State Power Corporation Limited (PSPCL) is providing poor services to the Consumers in Punjab. These services and absolute non-adherence of Standards of Performance mandated by Punjab State Electricity Regulatory Commission (PSERC) appointed by Government of Punjab. Punjab State Electricity Regulatory Commission (PSERC) has specified critical distribution parameters to provide efficient, reliable and safe system of Electricity through its regulations provided in its Supply Code. These Minimum Standards of Performance provides strict timelines to resolve various Consumer grievances viz. Normal Fuse Off, Overhead Line Breakdowns, Underground Cable Breakdowns, Distribution Transformer Failure, Power Transformer Failure, Street Light Faults, Period of Scheduled Outage, Voltage Fluctuations, Meter Complaints, Release of New Connection, Transfer of Title or Conversion of Services, Shifting of Meter/Service Connection and other Services, Complaints about Consumer’s Bills and restoration of Supply. Grewal stated that Punjab State Electricity Regulatory Commission (PSERC) mandates a compensation to the Consumer in case of non-fulfillment of these Minimum Standards of Performance. Compensation varies from Rs 50/- to Rs 5000/- for each default for each Consumer. It is well known that Punjab State Power Corporation Limited neither fulfils these Minimum Standard of performance (MSOP) nor compensates any Consumer towards any such lapse whereas Punjab State Electricity Regulatory Commission (PSERC) mandates payment of such compensation by the way of adjustment in Electricity Bills. For instance, Punjab State Electricity Regulatory Commission (PSERC) mandates a normal fuse off complaint shall be addressed within 4 hours in cities, towns and urban areas and in case Punjab State Power Corporation Limited (PSPCL) fails to resolve the complaint within 4 hours, it shall remit Rs 50/- as compensation by the way of adjustment in the next bill of the Consumer. Punjab State Electricity Regulatory Commission (PSERC) mandates registration of each and every complaint filed by the Consumer verbally, telephonically or in writing as per a duly approved Consumer Complaint Handling Procedure whereas there is hardly any such effective system in place to register and address consumer complaints. According to the Annual Revenue Requirement (ARR) filed by the Punjab State Power Corporation Limited (PSPCL) with the Punjab State Electricity Regulatory Commission (PSERC), it received only 2462 complaints in a year from over 65 Lac Consumers across Punjab

BJP Kisan Morcha took up the matter of promotion of Chandigarh police inspectors with MHA and sent a letter to Union minister of home affairs Rajnath Singh and Union minister of state for home affairs Kiren Rijiju on Monday. National secretary of BJP Kisan Morcha Sukhminderpal Singh Grewal has sought immediate intervention of both central ministers urging them to save Chandigarh police inspectors, who are not being given their rights of promotion, and being ignored by Chandigarh administration.
The detailed letter highlighted more than a dozen points narrating eligibility of Chandigarh police inspectors and reportedly biased attitude of Chandigarh administration towards them. At present, four inspectors including Dilsher Singh Chandel, Udaypal Singh, Jaswinder Singh and Amrao Singh are awaiting their promotion to the rank of DSP.
On June 2, Central Administrative Tribunal (CAT) had refused to vacate the stay orders against its earlier order stopping local administration to fill vacant posts of DSPs with officers of other cadres on Thursday. The CAT also instructed local administration to dispose of representation of four police inspectors, who are struggling to get their rights of promotion on the rank of DSP, within next three months.
In his letter to MHA, Grewal stated that about six posts of DSPs are vacant with Chandigarh police and more than 10 police inspectors of Chandigarh police are eligible for getting the promotion. However, instead of promoting these eligible inspectors, senior police officers, who are included AGMUT and Punjab cadre IPS officers, are preferring to bring DSPs from other states including Punjab, Haryana and DANIPS cadre from Delhi.
The preference of DSPs from other states is has already causing resentment among eligible police inspectors of Chandigarh police, who decided to challenge this process in CAT. Sources in police headquarters said, "A recently-transferred IPS officer had submitted a draft plan of hiring DSPs on deputation from other states with Chandigarh administration. In the plan, the officer recommended 11 DSPs from DANIPS in Delhi, three from Punjab, two from Haryana and made recommendation of promoting seven inspectors of Chandigarh police on the rank of DSPs." On January 4, four inspectors were promoted to the post of DSPs by Chandigarh administration. The inspectors who have been promoted to the rank of DSP include Ram Gopal, Devinder Sharma, SPS Sondi and Kewal Krishan.

National Secretary BJP Kisan Morcha and Prabhari Himachal Pradesh Advocate, Sukhminderpal Singh Grewal today expressing deep condolence over the death of Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh pracharak and Vishav Hindu Parishad (VHP) Senior Leader Shri Ashok Singhal. Talking with the media persons here today Grewal termed it as a national loss of the Country. He said that 89-year-old Shri Ashok Singhal was admitted to the Medanta Hospital in Gurgaon after his health deteriorated, his condition was critical and he was on ventilator support in the ICU and Shri Ashok Singhal died at 2.24 PM at Medanta Medicity hospital in Gurgaon. Grewal said that a bachelor and an Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) pracharak all his life Shri Ashok Singhal adopted an aggressive style in the " KAR SEWAK" Ram Janam Bhoomi Andolan campaign in the build up to the demolition of the Babri Masjid in December, 1992. Grewal said that Shri Ashok Singhal was a metallurgy engineering graduate from Banaras Hindu University and he pitchforked the organisation in the Ayodhya Ram temple movement and sought to internationalise it by recruiting supporters and organising branches world wide. The overseas supporters contributed immensely to the VHP campaign.

The Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) made tall claims about maintaining peace and harmony during their Sadbhavna rally, a SAD worker fired gunshots and injured the of ally Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader. In this firing District President was injured as a shot was fired at him at Bhagta Bhaika, Bathinda. On Thursday night the incident took place around 9.50 as Gurwinder Singh Brar was sitting at accused Darbara Singh’s brother house which is BJP Mandal president. The bullet hit Gurwinder Singh Brar in the stomach, and he was admitted to Max Hospital Bathinda. The Police officer DSP Gurjeet Singh Romana said an attempt-to-murder case had been registered against Darbara. He said that Darbara also fired three shots from a .32 pistol at Gurwinder Singh's car.

استقبل معالي ناريندرا مودي رئيس وزراء جمهورية الهند في العاصمة نيودلهي سمو الشيخ عبدالله بن زايد آل نهيان وزير الخارجية والتعاون الدولي والوفد المرافق وذلك في إطار الزيارة الرسمية التي يقوم بها سموه إلى الهند.
ونقل سموه في بداية اللقاء تحيات صاحب السمو الشيخ خليفة بن زايد آل نهيان رئيس الدولة "حفظه الله" وصاحب السمو الشيخ محمد بن راشد آل مكتوم نائب رئيس الدولة رئيس مجلس الوزراء حاكم دبي "رعاه الله" وصاحب السمو الشيخ محمد بن زايد آل نهيان ولي عهد أبوظبي نائب القائد الأعلى للقوات المسلحة إلى رئيس الوزراء الهندي الذي حمل سموه تحياته إلى سموهم وتمنياته لدولة الإمارات المزيد من التقدم والازدهار.
وبحث الجانبان خلال اللقاء مجالات التعاون بين البلدين وسبل دعمها وتطويرها في مختلف القطاعات بما يضمن تحقيق تطلعات كلا البلدين، كما تم خلال اللقاء استعراض التطورات على الساحتين الإقليمية والدولية وتبادل وجهات النظر تجاه عدد من القضايا ذات الاهتمام المشترك.
وأكد سمو الشيخ عبدالله بن زايد آل نهيان أن العلاقات الاستراتيجية بين البلدين الصديقين شهدت نقلة نوعية كبيرة في المجالات كافة خلال السنوات الماضية وهناك حرص مستمر على تعزيزها في شتى المجالات لما فيه خير للبلدين والشعبين الصديقين.
من جانبه رحب رئيس وزراء جمهورية الهند بزيارة سمو الشيخ عبدالله بن زايد آل نهيان إلى نيودلهي معرباً عن تمنياته بأن تسهم هذه الزيارة في دعم علاقات التعاون والصداقة بين البلدين الصديقين، كما أكد رئيس وزراء جمهورية الهند حرص بلاده على تعزيز علاقات الصداقة والتعاون مع دولة الإمارات بما يعزز الشراكات الثنائية التي تخدم عملية التنمية والتقدم والازدهار لمصلحة البلدين والشعبين الصديقين.
حضر اللقاء سعادة الدكتور أحمد عبدالرحمن البنا سفير دولة الإمارات لدى جمهورية الهند.
وكانت دول الإمارات قد أجرت محادثات مع جمهورية الهند خلال الاجتماع الثاني عشر للجنة المشتركة في أبوظبي ديسمبر من العام الماضي حول حزمة من فرص المشاريع التنموية الدولية المشتركة الموجّهة لصالح البلدان الأقل نمواً، خاصة في قارة أفريقيا وللمُضي قدماً في إرساء التعاون المشترك في جميع المجالات ودعم رؤية القارة الأفريقية الطموحة من أجل النهوض بها لتحقق الاحتياجات الفعلية للشعوب الأفريقية ودعم التعاون مابين دول الجنوب ودفع سبل تعزيز التعاون الإنمائي الثلاثي في مجالات متنوعة تهدف لتبادل الخبرات وبناء القدرات وذلك في إطار التعاون والصداقة ما بين دولة الإمارات وجمهورية الهند والشعوب الأخرى وضمن المسؤولية المتزايدة بشأن دعم السلام العالمي وتنمية وازدهار الدول الأقل نمواً.
