Didn't think he'd make it to his birthday. The polyps in the nose are still inflamed. I have to wipe his nose a lot. Still on prednisone and an antibiotic every few weeks. He doesn't eat much, but he still seems to enjoy life. Still following me like a dog and still playing now and then.

Now the commonest and most widespread UK bird of prey. The buzzard is quite large with broad, rounded wings, and a short neck and tail. When gliding and soaring it will often hold its wings in a shallow 'V' and the tail is fanned. Buzzards are variable in colour from all dark brown to much paler variations, all have dark wingtips and a finely barred tail. Their plaintive mewing call could be mistaken for a cat.

What they eat: Buzzards tend to eat small mammals, birds and carrion. Even earthworms and large insects when other prey is in short supply.

Now the first series with the male figure is complete, but maybe I will continue to work on it.

We passed this guy who climbed to the top of this rock formation at the start of our hike. When we passed by on the way back, about an hour later, he was still there. Maybe he was waiting for someone, taking in the view, resting or...?

Evidently rock climbing is permitted in this area because there was a climber on each rock face near the parking area. Some were experienced; some seemed like they were stuck, like the guy in the next picture.

I've looked at love from both sides now

Now I have 4 chipmunks running to me begging for sunflower seeds. And I don't know which one is Perry! I do know which ones are girls and boys so lets just say there is a Perry 1 and a Perry 2:)

Our main reason for visiting Croatia was to see Plitvice Lakes, which spill one into another across natural dams. Usually there are crowds of tourists on the trails, and on the boardwalks along the dams. Due to heavy snow this winter, and rain all the last month, the trails are being closed, one by one, from the top down. Situation changing day by day. This is the last boardwalk that wasn’t entirely submerged during our timed entry, when heavy rain resumed. Never occurred to me that these planks might not have been here when we got back, until now.
