The Church of the Nativity of the Mother of God is an Orthodox church located in the Iosefin district of Timișoara.
The church was built between 1931 and 1936 according to the plans of the architect Victor Vlad in the neo-Byzantine style, which is inspired by the model of the Hagia Sophia in Istanbul, including the buttresses, the shape of the dome and the separate bell tower.
The mural, executed in the "fresco bono" style, belongs to the painters Catul Bogdan (altar apse) and Ioachim Miloia (dome) and was restored in 1958 by Professor Anastasie Demian, who added 18 additional biblical scenes.
In 1983-1985 Professor Victor Jurca added 70 additional scenes.
The iconostasis, the chandelier and the tomb of the Lord, in the style of the Curtea de Argeș Baptistery, were carved in linden wood by Ștefan Gajo.
The thrones, chairs and benches were carved in oak wood by Traian Novac.
The floor is made of a combination of white Rușchița marble and pink marble.
In the cemetery, laid out like a small park, there are the busts of the five founders of the church: Iacob Marian, Eng. Victor Vlad, Rev. Ioan Imbroane, Ave. Emanuil Ungurianu and Ioachim Miloia, executed by the sculptor Aurel Gheorghe Ardeleanu.

The Dubrovnik Cathedral is dedicated to the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary into heaven (Velika Gospa). It is the seat of the Dubrovnik Diocese. It was built on the site of a Byzantine and Romanesque cathedral, destroyed in the great earthquake of 1667. The current Baroque cathedral was built from 1671 to 1713. According to legend, the Romanesque cathedral from the 12th century was built with the money of the English king Richard I the Lionheart, who survived a shipwreck near Lokrum, after returning from the Third Crusade in 1192. As a sign of gratitude, he gave 100,000 ducats, which was a very large sum of money at the time. It was the first Romanesque basilica in the eastern Adriatic and influenced church architecture in the entire region. It was unusually tall. It can be seen in pictures of Dubrovnik before the earthquake of 1667. In that earthquake, the cathedral was completely destroyed. The baptistery nearby survived, but was no longer used. The role of the cathedral was temporarily taken over by the Church of St. Blaise.
Vlaha.

Laughter with those that understand us is music for the soul.
– Mimi Novac
Image 3 & triptic
There is an Italian saying ‘at the dinner table none gets old’ wjhe you are listening music it is a banquet for the ears and a meal for the heart and soul.
This image is of Osmel Fernandez playing Clave and sing a smile in the key of joyious laughter.
This is my latest workshop to Cuba.. I shot this image withe new Nikon Zf a very fun camera to shoot and the 50mm f1.2 lens. An exquisitely beautify piece of glass to work with. The Zf is the camera I grab when I have no idea what I am walking into and the Plena is just a visual pleasure to look through whilst I shoot.
I am so looking forward to going back to Cuba March 07-14 2024 for my Photography and Music workshop.

IN CONTROVERSIIS CAVSARVM CORPORALES INIMICICIAE ORIVNTVR FIT AMISSIO EXPENSARVM LABOR ANIMI EXERCETVR CORVPS COTIDIE FATICATVR MVLTA ET INHONESTA CRIMINA INDE CONSEQVVNTVR ET QVI SEPE CREDVNT OBTINERE FREQVENTER SVCVMBVNT ET SI OBTINENT COMPVTATIS LABORIVBS ET EXPENSIS NICHIL ACQVIRVNT MODVS PD MDXLV. U prijevodu...
Godine 1842. započela je raditi i privatna ženska osnovna škola, dok nije nadzor i materijalno uzdržavanje preuzela općinska uprava trideset godina kasnije. 1873. godine mjesto je imalo općinskoga liječnika i primalju.

NOTE:
There is no one to know that the blouse is a Romanian one and that the theme developped from making Matisse's models wera one of the many such embroidered blouses he received as a present from his Romaian painter friend Theodore Pallady.
Pallady and Matisse were colleagues at the Ecole des Beaux Arts in Paris and frequented the same atelier.
besides, Pallady's maternal aunt was a famous Parisian model, Marie Princess Cantacuzene who married Puvis de Chavannes.

Raquel - born in Novac just outside of New Vegas Raquel volunteered for a stint in the NCR. Serving in first recon she was able to hone her skills as a sharpshooter.
Jake - Falls into that lovely category of scavengers scoundrels and prospectors. Raiding everything from abandoned school houses to old vaults, there's not a place he can't get into.
Jim the spooky skeleton - The unwilling half of the "wastelands greatest band." Not excited about being part of this. Just wants to sleep and be at peace for once. Extremely skilled with the guitar, more skilled with not moving.
Frank - Strip enforcer for the Omertas. Will bury you in the sand even fast than Benny
Enclave Soldier - The Enclave was defeated by the NCR many years ago. What the NCR didn't know was that emergency bunkers were built from Navarone to the Appalachians.
Jam the ghoul- The better looking half of Jim Jam, the wastelands best band. Loves his job, occasionally likes to bite people.

(1905-06) Portrait of Pierre Loti by Henri Rousseau le Douanier, Oil on canvas, 24 3/8 x 19 5/8" (62 x 50 cm), Kunsthaus Zurich
------------
the French writer Pierre Loti (1850-1923). figured among the wide circle of admirers of Carmen Sylva, Queen of Romania, a Humanist, patron of the arts, writer, translator. musician, painter and royal consort of Carol I of Romania.
In 1881 Loti was elected to the French Academy..Two years later, in 1883, he achieved the widest celebrity, for not only did he publish Mon frere Yves ("My Brother Yves"), but Loti had exposed in Figaro a series of atrocities that occurred during the capture of Hue (1883), and was threatened with suspension from the French Naval service.
His novel described the life of a French naval officer, and a Breton sailor, Yves Kermadec, in all parts of the world. The Encyclopædia Britannica, Eleventh Edition (1911) described this as "one of his most characteristic productions". While taking part as a naval officer in the Tonkin War,.
The Queen of Romania translated into German Loti's books "Mon Frere Yves" and "Le pecheur d'Islande",
Loti came to the royal palace in the Carpathians as a guest of the Queen, but did not find favour with the austere king Carol I.
The French writer visited Carmen Sylva in her temporary exile in Venice in 1891 following her romantic but ill-conceived attempt to engage Crown Prince Ferdinand to one of her ladies-in-waiting.
Inspired by his royal patron's sad experience, Pierre Loti wrote a soulful book, "L’Exilée", based on Carmen Sylva's experiences, The book caused no small sensation and was banned by King Carol.

All images are raw processed using Nike Studio NX, Post processed in Photoshop CC and the NiK collection by DxO.

Female Neolithic clay figurine, c. 3000 BC. excavated @ Vidra, Bucharest, Romania. Collection of the National Antiquities Museum, Bucharest. Height 42.5 cm. in the form of a jar, incised and with traces of paint, clay, c. 3000 BC.
www[dot]blouseroumaine[dot]com/orderthebook_p1[dot]html
The Goddess of Vidra is an anthropomorphic clay pot belonging to the Neolithic Culture of Gumelnita (Wallachia). Its incisions are ornamented with decorative patterns, typical of Celtic culture.
This artefact is a "Goddess of Fertility", as suggested by the large thighs, an attribute of reproduction... in such instance head was absent altogether.
Note the sgrafitti with geometric patterns, suggestive of Celtic motifs - irrefutable archaeological proof that the Celts of Western Europe came from the Lower Danube.
The Neolithic figurines of this kind are discussed in the introductory chapter of the Anthology:
