Captured at Lake Almaden, SJ, CA. I found a dragonfly resting on the tip of a leaf. I was able to get real close and took a few shots. But during the shoot, I noticed that it kept leaving and coming back to the same spot. Further observation found that it was leaving to catch food and returning to eat it. This went on for over an hour. Gave me ample time & tries to capture it's landing on returns. I don't know the species. Anyone know? Update, someone gave me a lead on the species. After some more research, Variegated Meadowhawk looks like a good match.

Noticed that most of the Warbler Pictures were Male Warblers.

Need to post more of the Female warblers from this Spring Migration.

I noticed today that I have reached the 10k followers. I was speechless :o I would like to thank you all from the bottom of my heart. This picture is a THANK YOU to each and every one of you. I started blogging 5 years ago through a friend. It was a lot of fun for me and when the friend I owe the start of blogging died unfortunately, blogging got another step for me. I took every picture for her. Today blogging is not just a hobby for me, today it is passion. The reason that calms me down from a stressful working day, the reason for conveying feelings in some pictures. That's why I'm so proud that so many like my work. I appreciate all of you so much! ♥♥♥♥

thank you SO SO SOO much :*

I noticed the amazing colour in the sky so I jumped in my car and grabbed this before it disappeared. Handy spot 2 minutes away from my house.

The colors peaked on my absolute favorite trail last weekend. Needless to say I went back twice that weekend.

I noticed the position of her arms were the same as the model, its like the models future self in 50 yrs : )

We noticed a big streak in the otherwise clear sky. Looking closer there was a fast moving plane at the top. The origin was south - far south. Being the southernmost capital city in Australia this seemed unusual. So a quick check of the flight activity identified that the flight was a Qantas scenic Antarctica flight (you can see the Qantas logo clearly on the tail).

An Oystercatcher coming in for a landing - - we had just had lunch at a brewery in Iceland when I noticed a pair of these landing in a park across the road from us.

I walked over with my camera and was able to get a few quick shots before the rain; and I found their nest pretty much immediately

Eurasian Oystercatcher - Olverk, Iceland

I was still working when I suddenly noticed that we had a nice sunset for a change. So I grabbed the camera and took a few quick photos before the sun disappeared and the colours faded. This was one of the moment when I always wish I could see that sunset in a nicer place, at a lake or even better at the seaside. As this wasn't possible I can only offer the view from study, from the same window where the Dragon sat in the other photo I post today.

Ipomoea pandurata, known as man of the earth,[1] wild potato vine, manroot, wild sweet potato, and wild rhubarb,[2] is a species of herbaceous perennial vine native to North America. It is a twining plant of woodland verges and rough places with heart-shaped leaves and funnel-shaped white flowers with a pinkish throat. The large tuberous roots can be roasted and eaten, or can be used to make a poultice or infusion. When uncooked, the roots have purgative properties.[3]

This lady died in 1911....when I was there today I noticed that 97 years on someone is still leaving fresh flowers.

I noticed that all the Rainbow Lorikeets were in my neighbour's garden yesterday afternoon (well I first heard them as the noise is deafening). They were fighting over a loaf that he had put out for them and I love going over and trying for the elusive "in flight" photos. I saw this one take off from a tree and snapped off three quick shots not knowing if it was in the frame or not and lucky for me it was. I just had to lighten a tad with curves in Photoshop.

An old barn door serves as a frame for a horse that stuck its head out to see what was going on as I stopped to shoot this photo. He soon lost interest in me. Many people spend their whole lives seeking to be noticed only to discover that wasn't what they were really looking for.

It seems like most places across the country have some version or other of a balancing rock. Certainly in Kamloops there is the well-known Coyote Balancing Rock. I recall a very large prominent one on the east cost near Peggy’s Cove and one in northern Ontario as well (I think over near Parry Sound). This is the one most noticed on Haida Gwaii. What I find interesting is that rarely do I see comment about the implications of their age. I assume deposited at the time a glacier retreated, it gives me pause to wonder how many generations of kids and eagles have sat with it.

A beach is not only a sweep of sand, with shells of sea creatures in, but also as the greatest pleasure of the waves to bring the stones to the beach and then only try to get them back into the sea!

One thing that I did not notice as I walked around the edges of the harbour, it was very rockery, with plenty of big chunky rocks and hardly any sand on it.

Many thanks for your cool comments and compliments from you here, my good flickr friends !!!

Did you get your disconnection notice?

Mine came in the mail today

They seem to think I'm disconnected

Don't think I know what to read or write or say

Glossaries injected daily

Words and numbers spell out the price to pay

It simply states "you're disconnected baby"

See how easily it all slips away

Douglas County, Washington

A bit of a cliche picture but I thought the sign was unusual, three buckets, slightly desaturated, at the North Norfolk Railway station in Sheringham. The abbreviation on the sign is short for the Midland and Great Northern Joint Railway.
