Namaqualand colours portfolio was assembled in 2012 by Laurence Savary adding Siegfried Schafer and Steven Smuts pictures to provide a plant collection of all colours and landscapes, for Cape visitors to discover Namaqualand region.
After being exhibited in Cape Baptist from Oct 2012, following Northern Cape Tourism Authority, the portfolio moved to Port Elizabeth Alliance Francaise in Aug 2013, where a series of artist workshops took place (drawing, ceramics, textile design) allowing creative eyes to express the photographs into different media.
Back in Cape Town, the creative impetus continues in tune with Cape Town world design capital activities. Located in Athlone Library, the exhibition is growing from exhibiting all artistic expressions of the portfolio.

Curator Artistic Statement
At Port Elizabeth, Namaqualand Colours has transformed from exhibiting Namaqualand photographs to exhibiting PE creativity of number of artists, amateurs students and children. This is a success for Namaqualand and for the city.
This website groups the projects worksheet received by Jean Luyt NMMU textile Students, the ceramic workgroup of Delphine Niez, the drawings produced by Teresa Hardman Adult drawing groups, and the informal children drawing group I held one afternoon.
Please note names and contacts do not appear on each page, but will be available on an artist contact list referenced per page which I will update as artists indicate their pages details.
Many thanks to Alliance Francaisefor welcoming Namaqualand Colourexhibition and artists workshops.
Enjoy an enhanced visit of the Exhibition.
