A Vöröskereszt / Crveni Krst tábort 1944 tavaszán a jugoszláv partizánok felszabadították. 1967. február 12-én, a fogolykitörés (1942. február 12, amikor 174 fogoly próbált szökni a táborból, közülük 105-en élték túl) 25.

Today, a museum commemorates the history of the camp, which operated between 1941-1944, on the site of the former Red Cross of Crveni Krst concentration camp in the Serbian city of Niš.

At the beginning of April 1941, the German invasion of Yugoslavia began, and Serbia was not left out. In April of this year, the two key cities, Belgrade and Niš, were occupied, and around September, the German Gestapo established its concentration camp in the area of the military warehouse next to the cenral hospital in Niš, which was named after the nearby hospital the „Red Cross / Crveni Krst”. There were 4 categories of prisoners. The first category consisted of hostages, those military personnel who were sent to fight on the Eastern Front, and sincet he Germans could not bring reinforcements, they declared for this rebellion that for every German soldier they would execute a hundred Serbs and for every wounded German soldier fifty. By October 1941, this policy had caused the death of 25,000 Serbs. The second category was represented by Jews and Roma, and the third and fourth categories were those arrested for belonging to or collaborating with the communist National Liberation Movement and one of the military units led by Josip Broz Tito.

The first mass executions took place on the nearby Bubanj Hill in February 1942. In the spring of this year, the detained women and children were transported to the Sajmište concentration camp on the outskirts of Belgrade, where they were murdered in gas vans. Leater, other prisoners were transferred to Mauthausen, Ravensbrück and Auschwitz concentration camps.

The Red Cross / Crveni Krst camp was liberated by Yugoslav partisans in the spring of 1944. On February 12, 1967, the 25th anniversary of the prisoner breakout (February 12, 1942, when 174 prisoners tried to escape from the camp, 105 of them survived), the former camp was opened as a museum. On the nearby Bubanj Hill, where the executions took place, a memorial park was erected in 1963 with a monument created by the sculptor Ivan Sabolić.

The National Cybersecurity Center of Excellence (NCCoE) and the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) hosted a Fall Open House at the Institute for Bioscience and Biotechnology Research (IBBR) in Rockville, Maryland. The event focused on education and workforce development to cultivate the next generation of leaders in the cybersecurity industry.

Students from cybersecurity programs at UMBC, UMUC and the University of Maryland, College Park presented research projects and demonstrations which were developed during an internship program offered by NCCoE. Each group submitted a proposal earlier this summer for a new project that combats a tangible cybersecurity problem, and were employed during the summer as guest researchers.

Sunrise at the south pond on the NIST campus in Gaithersburg MD. The last couple of days there has been the most incredible colorful sunrises. So, today I brought my camera to work. My co-worker Liz and I stood in the dark and waited for yet another spectacular start to the day. We were not disapointed.

This is a motorcycle I saw on Soi 15. I took it because motorcycles are a very fast, common, convenient way to travel in Thailand. But they are very dangerous.
