Photo taken on October 2011, portraying the glacier Soches-Tsanteleina seen from Col Rosset (3.025 meters), Gran Paradiso National Park (Italy), during a night spent on site.

The moon was setting. Given the high altitude still was offering some very nice shadows on the ice, while the stars were beginning to take full possession of the night.

I've never done many night shots so these are a bit of a first. Bought my first tripod the other day so this was its first job. My fingers are still so ccccold that I can barely type.

Nachts sehen Ort anders aus und haben einen besonderen Reiz.

Es ist Wochenende, geht mal abends aus.

At night places look different and they have a special charm.

It's weekend, go out for the evening.

横浜 みなとみらい夜景

Im Benediktinerkloster Hirsau bei einer Lightpainting Session. Blende 8 bei 74s Belichtungszeit - Taschenlampen und Wunderkerzen.

Captured in: Callicoon, NY.

Pictured here is the launch and subsequent explosion of a fireworks rocket & shell during a fireworks show. The image was captured during an annual July 4th event held in upstate NY.

My brother-in-law was part of the pyrotechnics team that was running the show, so we were fortunate to get an up-close and personal view of the launch area.

I found this one while recently looking back through the archives. ;) Not sure why I never got around to posting it, especially as I happened to really like the shot.
