The game of Vertigo on Nexus in the final weeks the realm was around. The board slowly opens up as pieces fall, and if you're unlucky or step the wrong way, you fall too! Last person standing (usually) wins :-)

"WELL DO YOU HAVE ANY EXPERIENCE IN BATTLE?". THE WAR HORSE REPLIED NO. THE EMPEROR THEN SAID, "WHAT USE WILL I HAVE OF YOU? YOU DON'T KNOW THE LANDS OF OUR COUNTRY AND YOU HAVE NO EXPERIENCE IN BATTLE. HOW CAN I TRUST YOU WITH MY LIFE?". THE HORSE REPLIED, "I AM STRONG AND I CAN RUN FAST!". SO THE EMPEROR TESTED THE HORSE AND HAD HIM RUN ACCROSS A VAST FIELD. ON HIS WAY BACK, THE HORSE GREW TIRED AND THE EMPEROR LEFT BEFORE THE HORSE COULD EVEN REACH HIM.
IF THE HORSE WAS WILLING T WORK WITH A FARMER, HE WOULD HAVE BUILT UP ENOUGH STRENGTH TO RUN ACCROSS A VAST FIELD. IF THE HORSE WAS WILLING TO DELIVER GOODS FOR A MERCHANT, HE WOULD HAVE KNOWN THE LANDS OF THE COUNTRY. AND IF THE HORSE WAS LESS PRIDEFUL, AND WENT WITH A LOW RANK SOLDIER, HE WOULD HAVE EXPERIENCE IN BATTLE.
ROMAN PHILOSOPHER SENECA ONCE SAID, "LUCK IS WHEN OPPORTUNITY MEETS PREPARATION". IN THIS CASE THE WAR HORSE HAD AN OPPORTUNITY BUT WASN'T PREPARED. SO WHATEVER OPPORTUNITIES YOU HAVE NOW, EVEN THOUGH THEY MAY NOT SEEM LIKE THEY ARE ALIGNED WITH YOUR ULTIMATE GOAL, THERE IS ALWAYS SOMETHING YOU CAN LEARN THAT MAY BE OF USE IN THE FUTURE. SO DON'T LET YOUR PRIDE GET IN THE WAY OF EXPERIENCE AND KNOWLEDGE. The Nexus Scepter is one of many vessels built by the Assembly to serve in the fight against the Maelstrom, and is well equipped both in weapons and propulsion. Twin Penrose Engines powered by the central Imagination Core, provide the main thrust. The top-mounted Crux Cannon provides heavy firepower, with point defense cannons mounted on the sides for additional coverage and hangar shielding.
SHIPtember 2025, complete just in time! Originally I had grand plans for a twin-hull ship this year, but I just didn't have the time. Maybe that version will come in the future. I'm much happier with how this turned out compared to last year's ship. Something about run-down hodgepodges of color just doesn't work well for me in the end.

Nexus werd geïnspireerd op een persoonlijke ervaring van de Hongaarse kunstenaar Viktor Vicsek. Als een vreemde in Amsterdam vroeg hij zich af hoe de stad eruit zag onder de oppervlakte. Wat zijn de normen en waarden van de Nederlanders en hoe manifesteren deze zich buiten toeristische clichés? Hij vatte de antwoorden op zijn vragen in één zin samen: ‘Laat de kleuren vloeien’.
Amsterdam is een van de meest multiculturele steden van de wereld. De hoofdstad heeft meer dan 180 verschillende nationaliteiten. ‘Nexus’ betekent connectie; de connectie die geleidelijk ontstaat tussen bestaande bewoners en nieuwkomers. Nexus is – letterlijk en figuurlijk – een grote complexe structuur waar losse onderdelen samen een groter geheel vormen. Gebogen lichtpijpen creëren een vloeiende beweging die in het water van de Amstel begint en naar de lucht erboven toereikt.
