Got a new band (although I have learned that "watch people" do not use the term "watch band," but prefer "strap" or "bracelet") for this cheap counterfeit knock-off Monster High wristwatch. The band... I mean strap... cost more than the watch. It looks so much more rugged and gender-neutral now, don't you agree? 😝

This is my Seiko 5 Sports Military watch model SNZG09-J1 with the automatic movement 7S36B. Made in Japan.
I use this as my outdoor watch as it is relatively cheap yet sturdy. It is easy to read, has Super Luminova on all three hands and all twelve hour markers. Day and date come in handy when far from home. It is water resistant to 100 m and will simply keep on ticking in all conditions. The strap is a nylon NATO strap with matte details.
Since a couple of years I don't like the new models. The balance of Rolex watches, the wanna-be vintage watches. But,... JLC made a very nice effort with the Deep Sea Chronograph. I really like what Jaeger did with this design. It is very old-skool without a logo on the crown. Also great, it doesn't have a date.
This will probably become one of my favorite watches.
In the mean time this watch indeed has become one of my favorites!! Currently wearing it on the original strap, which just looks great.

Watchbqand straps, made from fabric...If I'm not mistaken, Carl Evans, proprietor of Gas Gas Bones, sources these directly from the same manufacturer the Ministry of Defense (MOD) in Great Britain uses for their G 10 straps

It's the time of year when I switch to my "winter wristwatch," a Seiko SRP777J1 diver-style automatic (self-winding) on a colorful canvas wrist strap.
A seasonal wristwatch? How elitist! Hey, at least I don't change watches depending on the time of day or the company I keep. I don't have a "dinner watch" and an "office watch" and a "yard work watch" -- or at least, not anymore.
Actually, never owned watches specific to certain activities. For a time I owned too many watches, but basically they were watches that I thought looked cool. I got in to wristwatches for a while a few years ago, but it was a hobby or a fad that quickly grew too expensive and too snobby for my low-brow tastes and low-brow pocketbook. Now I have "summer Seiko" and "winter Seiko" diver-style watches that I wear regularly, or seasonally; a basic Casio G-Shock I wear occasionally and use to set the correct time on the less accurate mechanical watches; and maybe three or four inexpensive but interesting watches I kept from my hobbyist period.

"Tritium is a heavy form (isotope) of hydrogen and for this reason behaves chemically exactly like it.
