In the older industrial section of Nashville, Tennessee, a former Santa Fe B23-7 shoves cars up to the CSXT interchange on the Nashville & Western Railroad. These guys are hard to get, so you can imagine my surprise when I rolled past the swing bridge outside of town and saw it being positioned for rail movement.

The track on the right serves WestRock, and is filled with NWR-owned former Union Pacific 50' high cub boxcars.

During fall migration, I was happy to see multiple Nashville warblers. I have only seen this species a few other times and usually only one bird. They were happily visiting my feeders and playing in the bird bath and lawn sprinklers in my yard.

Nashville & Eastern plays host to a number of BNSF castoffs, namely these consecutively numbered former Santa Fe Superfleet B40-8W's. On this date, trains were converging on NERR's small ex-Tennessee Central yard in downtown Nashville from three directions to get a sip of diesel from a tanker truck supplied by Key Oil Company. NERR 574 is currently hooked up and 573 will be next.
