I am not sure what drew me to this woman and what draws me to her still but if we are the sum of our life experiences, those stories are worth telling and I had a hunch she had some good stories to tell.

Louisville & Nashville SD40-2 3581 mingles with some GE’s in outside of the shops in Corbin, Kentucky. The unit continues in service today as CSX SD40-3 4075.
Nashville Warbler is not particularly common in my home province of Alberta, Canada, so I was pleased to come upon quite a few in British Columbia, our neighbour to the west, on a trip in Spring, 2023. It certainly is a colourful species. This individual with a yellow throat is probably a male; many of these birds have a rufous crown patch but it is often hidden. The setting was east of the town of Winfield, near the city of Kelowna in the Central Okanagan district.
(Maybe once the changes that are coming [this is written in Dec. 2023] in the common names of birds called after people are done, there will be an effort to more descriptively name some species—such as this one—whose title after a geographic area is not helpful or even accurate. Then the common names of some species which are misleading or vague [hello Ring-necked Duck] could be tackled, though all this could take a while…)
A visitor in the yard from yesterday, part of a large group of warblers that migrated through with a storm system. Glendale, Missouri
Nashville Warbler on its fall travels. This looks like an immature as it was a dusky grey and greenish while the females wil have some yellow hues as well.

Another image from a couple of weeks ago. This late migrating Nashville Warbler was hanging around in the same area as the wayward Black-Throated Gray Warbler.
Image created on Nov 13, 2017 at Britannia Conservation area in west Ottawa, Ontario. Some noise reduction applied due to the high ISO used.

A CSX C40 leads an autorack train south through the National Cemetery in Nashville on November 1, 2013. It was most worthwhile spending a couple of hours in the cemetery before flying home that morning. I spent the time between trains walking through the crosses, reading the names, thinking not only of their sacrifice but what all veterans have sacrificed. At the time I had a close perspective on the sacrifices as my son had recently been discharged from the Marines. It's a shame that we don't all get to see firsthand what these men and women give up and go through to serve their country..
This is a reprocessing of a similar shot posted years ago using more modern tools and possibly higher user skills.
I was wondering how this lens would handle lightstreams and starbursts >f/8.

That's how!
Holy cow!!
