I love so much these covers of the "Livre de Poche", the first pocket collection in France that was born in the 50s
Rest In Peace Rik Mayall 1958-2014, in my view the funniest man ever, I loved every thing he done, from the Dangerous Brothers, Kevin Turvey, the Young ones, Filthy Rich and Catflap to the brilliant Bottom, this guy was just amazing along with his partner Ade Edmonson, a brilliant double act.
My book "Improving the competitivenes of Russian banking", Russia, Moscow, publishers "Finances and statistics", 2008
Of course, the Cover Photo is also by me.

I put together a set titled , #Mybooks.
These are books / #magazines that I have read or will read at some point.
The books are mainly non #fiction, #history, #biographies , #autobiographys and #historicalevents I found to be #interesting
Some of you have asked about viewing the book - Since my daughters did it - I have no idea how that works and if it is on a private setting. I'll find out,
I ♥♡♥ books! ~ Moni Mohsin's hilarious book, The Diary of a Social Butterfly; a very, very funny parody of a certain type of Pakistani woman, caught up in a socialist - I mean, her closeted social life! She introduces herself in her own words as 'sophisty, smart, and socialist.' When you read it, you'll know just how 'socialist' she is!
Taken from a series of columns written for The Friday Times, a weekly newspaper published in Lahore by her sister, Jugnu Mohsin and brother-in-law, Najam Sethi.
The diary also runs a concurrent commentary on worldwide events impacting on Pakistan that is quite intriguing, taking us from 9/11 in New York to Benazir Bhutto's assassination in Pakistan. Very easy to read, I highly recommend it for a quick fun read, perhaps lounging by some glorious beach! No, I don't think the Social Butterfly would read this, let alone read anything else, she is simply too busy! ;-)
The tea, you ask? ~ Twinings Simply Tea Everyday, quite nice too

I'm so surprised I was able to take real picture today! I was about to upload another picture from my phone, and it definitely is not very pretty. Check the comments for a sweet capture of me getting my Wings n Things on.
Today was our first full day in San Diego. Of course, it was really windy and rained like hell this morning, but at least it wasn't 30 degrees outside like it is in the Seattle rain. Luckily, it cleared up by the time we were done with lunch, and the rest of the day was so-so weather-wise. lol alliteration
We went to Pacific Beach and did some shopping, and holy crap, I still can't believe how cheap the clothes are there. It's close to the garment district in LA so they have the same reps as stores like Forever 21 and Love Culture and purchase the same things (some items even have those stores' tags on them) and sell it for like half the price. I got a velour jacket for Wendy for 6 dollars, 5 dollar yoga pants, a 3 dollar t-shirt, a 7 dollar sweater, and a peacoat (Forever 21 tags) for 20 dollars. Jesann got pretty much the same one in white. So ridiculous! I'd say it was a pretty successful shopping day. :]
Tomorrow we're hittin the beach, but for now it is movie time! Sorry for the sloppily written description of my day, heh.

This is my HP MediaSmart server setup.
At this point the MSS has 2x500GB + 2x1TB WD Green drives, and the TR4M-B also has 2x1TB WD Green drives. The WD MyBook is not part of the MSS drive pool for now, but has an extra terabyte of storage available "just in case", lol :)

I finally got a copy (well, it costed some) of Koichi Yanagimoto's great catalogue of Dick Bruna's Zwarte Beertjes Cover Designs (Glyph, Tokyo 2004): 446 pages, more than 2000 colour illustrations!
Book design: Suzuka Yanagimoto.
"The Twentieth Wife" by Indu Sundaresan is a historical novel based on facts of the late 16th and early 17th century rule Mughal Empire in India an intriguing and pleasurable read...The Mughal Empire was so vast and so rich that it was inevitable that there would be lots of in-fighting for the throne...The Empire had a harem but only one of his sons could be Emperor....Competition was ugly...Wars were fought...Lives were lost...A sweeping saga that goes through generations...wars...betrayals...politics and most of all enduring love.
The main character, Mehrunnisa was definitely a woman of ahead of her time and one of the most popular women in the History of India...Mehrunnisa who is beautiful... smart...patient and cunning...was real a woman who married the Emperor when she was no longer young and who then ruled the Empire with him.
At age 8...Mehrunnisa finds herself mesmerized by Salim...the future heir to the throne....She immediately thinks he is beautiful and later develops feelings for him and through the years she dreams of becoming one of his wives...Salim was spellbounded by Mehrunnisa's beauty after seeing her few times but Emperor Akbar did not approve this marriage and she got married to a soldier named Ali Quli and had one child with him....Ali Quli did not appreciate her intellect..mind and intelligence....Stuck in a dead end marriage...she felt that this was her fate but things changed...Ali Quli died and Salim who was the Emperor Jahangir now approached her and she became Dowager Empress Nur Jahan...Jahangir and Nur Jahan madly in love....I'm not going to spoil the details for you all....The Twentieth Wife is a rich.. exotic view of the women...their desires and female's position in society in the Mughal Empire of 1600's India...An excellent novel with equally excellent themes about the power behind the veil....True love always prevails...I couldn't stop reading and finished in 4 days...This novel took me to another world...a world I have never been to...I visualized the sound of emerald bangles and anklets...The soft swish of their ghagara's and feet when they walked in red stone forts...Every page I turned with so much enthusiasm and eagerness that what is going to happen next....The story of Mehrunnisa is one of the great love stories of all time Great book...Savor it!
Btw Mehrunnisa was Jahangir's twentieth and last wife :)
I just finished reading its sequel "The Feast of Roses" and immensely enjoyed :)
Finally a fairly decent photo of my desk with iMac, iPad, iPhone 3G, Western Digital My Books, Drobo and Harmon Kardon Soundsticks. Plus a few other things I usually have to hand!
[Breezes pick up suddenly, unmanageably,]
This is a version of Turndust, an artist's book project I am currently working on. This is an early stage 'storyboard' version. I've posted it because I am interested in seing if I can use community on Flickr to add something to the design process. What do you think of it? What could be improved? What's good? What does it make you think about?
I'm planning to develop the book for screenprint in one or two colours with hand colouring in watercolour, so each book will be a little different, although still part of an edition. I plan to include new versions and working-up on Flickr as I go along.
Since this book is intended as a narrative, it's best read from beginning to end. I recommend looking at the set.
Thanks for any comments.
