I saw the movie several years ago, but I thought it was fictional. Turns out, it is a true story. Here is the first hand account of a young woman who was thrust into a mental hospital at age 18.

I read this when I was very young (maybe when I was a teen) and just reread it. I think this particular copy belonged to a high school student who may have been reading it along with his classmates. There is a lot of underlining.
