Suddenly Junkyard comes to an abrupt halt and circles the same spot barking and pawing at the ground.

Mutt: What is it boy?

The Fairbanks coal turn crosses the frozen Tanana River, in Nenana, AK, on a frigid negative 20 morning. After crossing the river the railroad will make a 180 degree turn to the right as they descend to ground level. The roadbed can be seen through the trees behind the building located in the shot. The frozen Tanana River is that white expanse at the upper left of the shot. While Nenana was once a bustling railroad town it has been reduced to the occasional load. The empty hopper first out on this train means they have work to do on the Suntrana Branch out of Healy. Usually they will work the branch first and then load their hoppers at Usibelli.

Today was the first sunny weekend day since I got back to town in mid-September that I haven't been busy, so I finally got to go for a stroll through the park to see all my old friends (and photograph a few of them).

"The unsympathetic indifference of previously amiable females, the contempt of muscular males, the acceptance of fragments of bread, the simulated ignorance of casual acquaintances, the latration of illegitimate unlicensed vagabond dogs, the infantile discharge of decomposed vegetable missiles, worth little or nothing, nothing or less than nothing."

'Ulysses', Chapter 17: 'Ithaca', P.678 (the 1922 Text), James Joyce.

Seven: Your work has the air of liberation, the coming together of skills, intent and humour - very Joycean in fact. My last full acquaintance with Ulysses was a whirlwind of emotions, switchbacks, puns, jokes and insights of great acuity. It sits partly opened in my memory as one of those gateways to an expanded universe along with a couple of hundred others, which I have just managed to resist embarking upon..

Ruin: Then there's 'Finnegans Wake', he lets go from the get go, from the starting point. He beautifully allowed that spirochete to speak as it blinded him, utterly astonishing.

Teegle's new "Mutt" :D

So cute!

Seen outside a local pet supply store in Hampton, New Hampshire. I just couldn't resist taking a picture of it!

OK, this is the last I'll post (at least for a while) of the barns around Bristol. Below are the 2 shown up close.

This is my grandson’s dog. He was homeless after a hurricane hit the Philippines two years ago and hundreds of homeless dogs were shipped to the US. He is a mutt and was a puppy when my grandson got him.

The dog lives in the Fraternity House at the University of Virginia with fourteen other boys. His official name is ‘Aries’ and (being part pit bull) he certainly has ramming capability. If you face him and call him he will run into you at full speed and ram you. My grandson rough houses with him like that. I barely kept my feet the first time. And now back to the story.

Almost every fraternity brother has a different name for him, so he answers to ‘Little Boy’, ‘Bongo’, ‘Binky’ ‘Big Bully,’ and several others. He stayed on with my daughter after my grandson left the other day.

I gave him a ride in the Kawasaki Mule the other day to see how he would like it. I created a Mule Monster. Whenever my daughter lets him out, if I am outside, he goes and sits in the Mule. “Come on, lets go for a walk!” just illicits one of those ‘cocked head’ stares. He has already figured out it is better to ride than to run beside the Mule. He won’t get out unless I get out, or he is afraid he will miss a ride. He just sits up on the seat as big as you please.

The Sorority House next door to the Frat house was broken into over Easter Break. My grandson and one other Frat brother and Aries were upstairs in bed. All of a sudden Aries let out some loud barks and barreled down the stairs. Sure enough a window was broken and two guys had gotten in. They made a quick retreat when they saw and heard the dog coming down the steps. So, he does earn his keep.

I will miss him when he leaves later today.

Just hanging out with my girl.

*not their real names. Go Raps!

Jones and Gerrard

Bellita on the left, is an adult Chihuahua/terrier mix. Penny, on the right, is a 5 month old yorkiepoo puppy. I'm watching these two plus their brother, Bailey, a shih tzu, for 2 weeks.

Penny and Bellita loved me from the get go. They are so adorable and very loving. Bailey on the other hand was scared to death in the beginning. It took me four days to break his fear but now he's as happy as the other two when I walk in the door. In fact, they start barking as soon as I pull in the driveway. They've learned the sound of my car even though I try to sneak up on them by pulling in quietly.

I caught this pic early on before Bailey would pose. I'm hoping to get all three in a shot over the next few days. We'll see...

My first Vietnam moc! The MUTT was the main jeep at that time, and is succeeded (and was based off of) the Willy's. Likewise, I made this by modifying one of my Willy's MBs. Obviously, I need to get an M60, but those are really hard to come by. I will have at least one more vehicle, maybe a tank if I feel like it.

Gibt's schon. Aber taugt's was? (SAMYANG)»

Ich lade dich herzlich ein, dir eine eigene Meinung zu bilden, und sie uns mitzuteilen.

A nice-looking bike but sadly looking a little the worse for wear these days, this 125cc Mutt machine has been parked up for some time at the yacht basin, Walton on the Naze. It reminds me of my first motorbike, a 250 that I had for a couple of years in my younger days!

Weird looking GP11 near Clewiston, FL

Hervey Bay in Queensland is town were it's almost 'de rigueur' to own a small dog. Most of the residents are elderly retired folk, so managing big energetic pooches would be too much for them to handle.

Ownership of one or two small mutts at the most seems to be the norm, however the rider of this scooter goes all out with his number of 'fur babies'.

Chewing his bone.
