It was an unforgettable musical evening with a star-studded cast: Kate Lindsey, mezzo-soprano, Rolando Villazón, tenor, Hamburger Camerata, Guerassim Voronkov, conductor. The day before yesterday I was very surprised to receive the offer to join and enjoy it from the front row.

The Bremen Town Musicians, a bronze statue created by Gerhard Marcks in 1953 stands in the heart of Bremen as a
tribute to the popular fairytale by the Brothers Grimm. According to the story, a donkey, a dog, a cat and a rooster set off on a journey to Bremen in search of a better life.
So many great street performers in the New Orleans' French Quarter. This group was playing great jazz in Jackson Square.
It's always a treat to listen to these talented musicians play while waiting for a train. Yes, I did put some money in his violin case.
I apologize to contacts for being AWOL. With Flickr's changes I can no longer look at images in between sessions (takes too long to load). I'll catch up on the weekend when I can spend long enough time waiting....waiting...waiting....
New York City is two places. One is the weekday version were a couple million commuters flood the city and everyone is walking around stressed and pissed off and the weekend version where most of the people are off from their nine to five drudgery except for mostly young millennials who make the overwhelming bulk of those working retail and in the restaurants, essential service workers and some IT people working on salary abuse. Needless to say on the weekend the city is a much more chilled place and especially on the weekends a lot of musicians are out probably free from their weekday day jobs and set themselves up to rack some spare tax free spare cash. This guy had a least a decent singing voice, knew how to play the guitar and knew how to work the crowd making observations and jokes between songs and as I tossed in a few bucks in as one of the unwritten rules of respect is that you tip street musicians or performers if take pictures or video them.
