The đàn nguyệt (Vietnamese pronunciation: [ɗǎn ŋwiə̂ˀt] "moon lute") also called nguyệt cầm, đàn kìm, is a two-stringed Vietnamese traditional musical instrument.[1] It is used in both folk and classical music, and remains popular throughout Vietnam (although during the 20th century many Vietnamese musicians increasingly gravitated toward the acoustic and electric guitar).
The đàn nguyệt's strings, formerly made of twisted silk, are today generally made of nylon or fishing line. They are kept at a fairly low tension in comparison to the guitar and other European plucked instruments. This, and the instrument's raised frets, allow for the bending tones which are so important to the proper interpretation of Vietnamese traditional music. Such bending tones are produced by pressing the string toward the neck rather than bending to the side. The strings are generally plucked with a small plectrum; often a plastic guitar pick is used.
The instrument's standard Vietnamese name, đàn nguyệt, literally means "moon string instrument" (đàn is the generic term for "string instrument" and nguyệt means "moon"). Its alternate name, nguyệt cầm, also means "moon string instrument" (cầm meaning "string instrument" in Sino-Vietnamese, coming from the Chinese word qín, 琴).

the Australian government and all its agencies have formally accept didjeridu as the correct spelling, however, since didgeridoo is the more popular way of spelling, didjeridu and didgeridoo are used interchangeably.
Whilst some people believe the Aboriginal people of Australia have been using the didgeridoo for 40,000 years or more, archaeological research suggests that the didgeridoo is only about 2000 years old. The evidence of this research comes in the form of rock art studies in the Northern Territory which show images of humans playing the didgeridoo painted on cave walls starting from about 2000 years ago. Before this time, there are no images of didgeridoos or humans playing didgeridoos.
Regardless of how old the didgeridoo is, Western society has only recently - relatively speaking - become acquainted with the didgeridoo.
It is an Australian Aboriginal musical instrument endemic to the northern parts of Australia and unusual in that a special technique called 'circular breathing' is used to play the instrument. In 'circular breathing' air is breathed in through the nose at the same time as air is being blown out of the mouth. This technique allows a skilled didjeridoo player to maintain a continuous sound on the instrument for as long as the player wants.
It is suggested that the special breathing technique needed to play the didjeridu as well as the distinct acoustics of the instrument both have positive effects on inducing the alpha brain wave patterns that are associated with deep meditation.
Either way, it is a resonant haunting instrument.

Para el grup Click&Go, esta vez el reto es: "Ropa colgada"... Como en casa somos bastante musicales tenía pendiente hacer esta foto de retrato de familia, así que he aprovechado la oportunidad! estos retos van de maravilla para ponerse las pilas con tareas pendientes!
El hombre de la casa es de The Who, Martí lleva los Rollings y Guillem a los Beatles, aunque me parece que nos equivocamos y el rebelde de casa va a ser el pequeñajo que de momento tiene poco de "niño bueno", eso si, simpático como el solo! ;-))... y la última camiseta es la mía, para mi la más especial de todas... tiene estampado un diubjo hecho por mi cantante preferido y adorado, al que nunca pensé tener la oportunidad de ver en directo y finalmente pude cumplir mi sueño y nada más y nada menos que cerquita, en Barcelona. Señoras y señores, con todos ustedes... Mr Tom Waits!
Para o ultimo dia do ano, não consegui tirar fotos com dolls, estou meio triste esses dias por vários motivos que mesmo que eu os exponha não terão solução. Mas espero que em 2013 tudo melhore.

A personagem central do musical "Cabaret" - Sally - se tornou conhecida pela interpretação magistral de Liza Minelli no cinema,
A produção geral do espetáculo brasileiro, conta com um elenco de 21 atores e uma orquestra de 14 músicos, regida em cena pela maestrina Beatriz de Luca. O responsável pela versão brasileira das músicas e do texto é Miguel Falabella.
“Tinha certeza de que seria o Miguel. Nós temos um amor comum por este musical e dentre todas as adaptações maravilhosas dele, esta é a melhor”, garante Claudia Raia. Segundo ela, a produção teve liberdade para mexer em tudo, inclusive no humor. "Não é inspirado em nenhuma versão, é o nosso 'Cabaret'", diz.

July 30 2017 - I'm not sure how this works but I think each bike when peddling generates sound from a different musical instrument. The purple sign in the back seems to give a description. I saw this last weekend at night and all 5 bikes were being peddled and a small crowd watching although I can't say I recall hearing any music but there was a lot going on everywhere, it may have just been lost in the overall street noise.
No Aeroporto Tom Jobim, o casal George Simmas (Gustavo Gasparani) e Alma Duran (Susana Ribeiro) esperam um vôo para Nova York. Ele é o diretor de musicais do momento, egocêntrico, carismático, mulherengo e plagiador. Ela é uma atriz dramática com ares de diva. Ela está indo para Nova York no intuito de salvar o casamento. Ele, para assistir alguns musicais, se inspirar e roubar ideias. Ela quer discutir a dor e o amor da relação. Ele quer esquecer os problemas. Aos poucos, a trama toma um rumo inesperado, ameaçada por um golpe do absurdo. O aeroporto é fechado por causa de uma epidemia desconhecida. Todos, naquele terminal, devem ficar trancafiados, sob observação. Aos poucos, o vírus vai tomando conta dos passageiros e exibindo os seus sintomas: é “o vírus do musical”.
