It was a great evening and a great treat for Mumbaikar's to witness the spectacular laser show and fireworks on the eve of inauguration of the much awaited Bandra-Worli sea link.

The bridge, seemed like a sparkling jewel during the show.

It was an orchestrated display of multi-coloured lasers and fireworks of aerial shells and other spectacular illuminating display.

The show was visible from the sea fronts in Shivaji Park, Dadar, Bandra, Worli and Mahim in the evening of 29th June 2009.

So here it is the entire 2 minutes 51 seconds of firworks footage of Bandra-Worli Sea Link, (Fireworks) capsuled into 1.24 seconds.

I am from Jharkhand .. i have only studied till 10th as there was some financial problem in my family so i stopped studying and started doing odd jobs to support my family …

My father used to be a teacher .. we had a private school in our place in Jharkhand but that got closed some 5 years back and then there was no job for my father as he was a teacher and principal in that school .. so he just do tuitions and all and then i had to take responsibilities ..

I became a salesman and started selling cloths home to home and used to get 50 rupees per day but it was not enough for me so i planned to come to Mumbai in the year of 2003 ..

Struggling started and i started searching for jobs … first job i got for 1500 rupees and it keep increasing yearly .. after completing 3 yrs over there i reached the pay scale of 3000 rupees per month salary.

But 3000 rupees is nothing for a person to live in Mumbai .. search started yet again for job to get more money ..

I got a job in an ice-cream parlour for 3500 rupees .. i had no option but to take it up ..

In between i was working out as well .. its a very difficult to do work out and maintain ones physique with less money but i was and am very dedicated about working out and whatever i do i do with my heart and hard work …i completed the gym training course from K11 Fitness Academy and joined as a trainer in a very big gymnasium in south Mumbai .. so i started working in two places because still i have financial problems .. i have to see my family also .. its very hectic to work as a gym trainer in the gym and then go to restaurant and work there till late night .. and again in morning go to gym … but i have no option and i have made my mind to work hard …

Now as i have a good physique and a nice face someone suggested that i should model as well so in the days to come i will shoot my folio and distribute my pictures and look for modelling work .. hopefully i should get success as a model .. even after doing two jobs money is not enough as i have a very big family of 4 sisters 3 brothers and mom dad ..

i have a younger brother who is staying with me in Mumbai having health issues and who doesn’t keep well so i take care of him and pay for him as well .. life is tough but dreams are dreams and have to be realised so its my dream to become a model and to do something for my family and this i say from my heart because in my family some of the people say that can’t do anything … i don’t have capabilities .. just wanted to show them that by struggling in Mumbai for 10 years .. i will achieve something and my heart says with hard work .. good blessings and luck i will definitely succeed in future.

Firoze,

What's the real story behind the trouble today in Mumbai?

I don't trust our news reports.

There's so much turmoil in the world.

Looks like 2009 will be an interesting and dangerous year in my country.

Peace,

More madness firoze.

I'm glad to see you are some distance from it, and my hope is that you and

yours will stay unharmed by this lunacy.

I think that the deranged ones are targetting tourism, but as seen in

Egypt and elsewhere it won't stop people visiting places of beauty. I will

be discussing the prospect of having a sojourn in Goa sometime next year

with John over the weekend. My own health isn't at best at the moment. It

seems as if winter just beats me up as she comes in these days.

I don't know if your TV is working, but from what I can see on the BBC

your government seem to be getting on top of the situation. Just the same

keep your head down. I know you believe as I do that darkness and terror

will ultimately be overcome by light and love.

Once the resolve of the world's masses is tempered enough through these cowardly acts, there will be no place for this evil to run and hide. Terrorism will end if the world wills it.

Sir Pherozeshah Mehta, KCIE (August 4, 1845 - November 5, 1915) was an Parsi Indian political leader, activist, and a leading lawyer of Bombay (now Mumbai), India, who was knighted by the British Government in India for his service to the law. His political ideology was, as was the case with most of the Indian leaders of his time, moderate. Hence, he was not directly opposed to the British Crown's sovereignty, but only demanded more autonomy for Indians to self-rule.

He became the Municipal commissioner of Bombay Municipality in 1873 and its President four times - 1884, 1885, 1905 and 1911.

He was chosen the president of the Indian National Congress in 1890.

The Rajabai Tower is a clock tower in South Mumbai, India. It is located in the confines of the Fort campus of the University of Mumbai. The tower stands at a height of 85 m (280 ft). Coordinates: 18°55′46.71″N, 72°49′47.95″E.

The Rajabai tower was designed by Sir George Gilbert Scott, an English architect. It was modelled on Big Ben, the clock tower of the UK houses of Parliament in London.

The foundation stone was laid on March 1, 1869 and construction was completed in November 1878. The total cost of construction came to Rs. 2 lakhs (Rs. 200,000), a princely sum in those days. This entire cost was defrayed by Premchand Roychand, a prosperous broker who founded the Bombay Stock Exchange on the condition that the tower be named after his mother Rajabai.

Premchand Roychand's mother was blind and as a staunch follower of Jain religion she was supposed to consume her dinner before evening. The evening bell of the tower helped her to know the time without anyone's help.

Gokul Ashtami is an Indian feast a feast that celebrates the ethos of Lord Krishna and his love for Humanity and the boys who celebrate this feast are Pucca Mumbaikars 101 % you cant replace them at all, these are Mumbai Che Pore Hoshyar and Ala Re Ale and Shammi Kappor is not dead , he can never die as long as the boys keep on breaking the Dahi Handi..

So with due respect to the Spaniards tasting our India feast hospitality , they will always remain Spaniards and we welcome them with the spirit of Love India.. Proud India.. but mind you all the roads in Thane led to one place and that is Vartak Nagar the home of Govinda Ala Re Ala..

I was invited by Purrvesh and Vihang my Facebook friends and two pillars of Pratap Sarnaik..they invite me every year as I had shot the World Record Handi here a few years back 2008 .

I had come along with the famous Talwadi Mazgaon Mandal of Yeshwant Jadhav and patron Bala Nandgaonkar..I shot it by accident , as the Talwadi boys had taken me along with them to all the places they break the Dahi Handi and Vartak Nagar was the last stop.. Sanskruti Yuva Pratishtan Vartak Nagar Thane .

This year due to work commitment I was at Lokhandwala with my wife so missed out on the Ranade Road Dadar Dahi Handi that I shoot every year , and after I completed my work I dropped my wife home took the Slow Local For Thane..my tryst with destiny..

I walk barefeet and I was fasting too , Pratap Naik is not just a Shiv Sena leader he is man of the masses and for 3 years I am trying to understand his magic with the crowds , they love him as much as he loves them , they are like his children , and this man iconic ever loving never tires, his energy levels are not human at all..

Since morning actors drop by ,. first it was Bollywood Hunk John Abraham than Neha Dupia Udita Goswami and the lover boy dude Rohit Roy and ace fashion designer Vikram Phadnis the list is long.. they all love Pratap Sarnaik.. I love him too..

He is the Showman of Thane no doubt about it and let me remind you he is down to earth , humble but that is all fine you try not to rub him the wrong way he is street savvy and difficult man to have as an opponent this is my observation , I read his body language and he is always smiling , his wife Bhabiji I found has the remote control.. though she pretends she lost it somewhere in the Bazar..

The team Sarnaik has some great personalities all working as family , Papu Bhai made sure there was victuals for breaking my Ramzan fast and I cant get over his words ..Apka Swab Hame Bhi Milta Hai Aisa lagta hai ke hamne bhi roza rakha hai and I am crying as I write this this is Love India .. beyond Hindu Muslim Sikh Isai.,. This is the true spirit of Vande Matram everybody under one Flag Ek Jan Ek Tiranga ..

And in keeping with the mission of peace Pratap Sarnaik saw that all his guests wore the Gandhi cap keeping the Soul of Anna Hazare alive yes whatever party whatever our caste creed we have get rid of Corruption at all cost .. Lau Ya Jau..

My picture are nothing special I shoot poems and I hope you read them without words of course and one last thing we come here because we love the Sarnaiks but we love the Thane crowds the most disciplined , rocking , and loving every minute of this greatest day on Earth..

Having known south Mumbai in minute details and knowing this area well, having walked around extensively to be at the Gateway to inhale a sense of freedom that the air in this part of country gives, I, a diehard Mumbaikar, am particularly disturbed by the war that these terrorists have waged on my city and my country. I just keep getting the feeling all through these times that I am in deep sleep and this is one of those nightmares I will forget after waking up. I wish. The pain of the victims’ families and the destruction are heartbreaking but what bothers me more is the shallowness expressed by some of our citizen, who are famous for being famous, in this hour of serious contemplation.

I am talking of the Suhel Seth phenomena. He was loud and clear in his criticism not just of the terrorists but also equally of government mechanism and apparatus. The problem I have in this is not just that his criticism of the system in the situation is unfair, but he was jumping the guns too early. He was on air at 11.00pm, Wednesday night, even before the gravity of the situation became clear. Even on day 2, his language was more of abuse than of a critic who is able to come up with alternate ideas.

Suhel Seth is not a Mumbaikar, I am not talking in the parlance of Raj Thackrey here but saying this because I know that all he has done is to bask in the glory of the media all though these hours. Did he help people in distress? Did he talk to the victims’ families? Did he donate blood when the hospitals had acute shortages? Where was he on 7/11 and on the more recent instances of terror?

I am not speaking for the government at this moment, but what I want is the media to stop giving valuable airtime to the people as shallow as him and wasting our time. On a serious lighter note, can we take news channels to consumer court for providing below quality content?

And if that was not enough, did you notice RGV and CM's son "inspecting" Taj like it was a walk in the park?

I was reading the stuff on the recent Orkut search, Shiv Sena , on dogpile, I had time to kill, so I read a few of them,I was shocked and stunned at the aftermath of the cybercafe bashing, one gentleman seems to have been the cause of ruffling the feathers of die hard Shiv Sena, grassroot cyberfire fighting nerds, so they have all ganged up against this NRI blogger, but to hit him hard they broke a few Muslim imaginary skulls unskillfully.

We get upset when somebody alludes to the integrity or character assasinates our leaders, but if we see on introspection, we as individuals, as collective mobocracy have more hate within us than Hate communities.

We are full of venom, waiting with clench fists to hit , smash faces, atleast the guys who use the net as a tool, possibly educated net savvy, have much more hate, more for a particular community hating words. It hurts not just as a Muslim but as a thorough bred born Indian.

I always believe the country of our birth is the country of our destiny.

Religion and the country are two sides of a coin, no religion is worth its salt if it places the country on a lower rung. This is not my field of blogging, but what I have to say can be read without me trying to sound wounded..I am against Hate of all kinds for any ethnicity or humanity. My religion and my country taught me that through what was imparted as upbringing by my parents.

I write about all religion, I was shocked India Blogs does not have a category for people who blog on Interfaith, so I had to write a Professional Blogger which I am not.. I need no votes that I am on search engines people see my pictures read me , is enough for me.

The trouble is most of the times it is Indians who do not like Indians.

Indians love bashing Indians .Dogpile of Hate.

I saw how I scared the other crabs in a bottle at Sulekha Blogs when I posted 600 blogs in six days. They blocked me saying my language was fuck oriented..Lol

I write about Hijdas , without denting or bruising my sexual orientation, but if given a magnanimous choice I would rather be a Hjda than a dogpile of shit hating Man.

The countrys law , order is everyones problem it affects all of us, hate progroms affect all of us, when Maratha leaders are denigrated it affects us all, as we are proud mee Mumbaikars.

But online Orkut is a mighty Google money generating giant, they should see that haters are not promoted, lets have more Gandhigiri on the cybernet...More Love communities.

For me a blogger 20 months old the Internet , I have given more to Google Search free than a pendant to my own wife.

I get scared when web sites ask me to upgrade, fuck we keep your readers entertained , you should be giving us free upgrades not the other way around.. sometimes you got to bend rules...to keep the Internet Junta happy beaming smiling from cheek to cheek.

It was only Buzznet that gave me free extra uploads..Thank You Steve Haldane wherever you are ..Buzznet refugee..Ha Ha
