This sensor board dubbed "allinone" sports a nice selection of sensors for a very good price:

HMC5883 Triple Axis Magnetometer

BMA180 Triple Axis Accelerometer

BMP085 Barometric Pressure Sensor

ITG3200 Triple-Axis Digital-Output Gyro

I will use this board together with the Seeduino Mega controller I purchased a while ago already. The firmware will likely be MultiWii, as it already supports this IMU. This will replace my current setup (ArduIMU+ v2 flat with a home-grown firmware).

I wanted to test the final version 2.0 of the MultiWii firmware this weekend, so I flashed the firmware and headed to the field. Unfortunately the wind was too strong and carried the copter away very quickly. At some point I could not tell which direction it was heading anymore, so I rather grounded it before risking losing it even further away. Fortunately just one arm of the frame seems to have been damaged!

In order to reduce the clutter and to test some new sensors, I recently got myself this ATmega32u4-based 10DOF MicroWii controller board from Flyduino. This is the top view of the PCB.

#Drone #FPV #Racing #Blackout

Recently Naze32 Flight Controller is increasingly popular with enthusiasts all over the world. Featured by MultiWii called base-flight, the flight controller with on-going port of the MultiWii code-base to the STM32 CPU made a great progress. Very different from all-in-one DJI flight controller,...
