* MARBLES Electricians (MR305) folding knife/tool with Orange handles.
The knife is 3 3/4" closed. It has Orange G-10 handles with Nickel Silver bolsters. The blade and tools are stainless steel. Besides the main blade it has a second blade with a flathead screwdriver with a linerlock. It has stainless pins, liners and lanyard bail.
A knife I gave my Pa for b-day/Christmas back in 2013, I think. I took it out of his gadget drawer with a number of others knives and multitools, to give them all a good cleaning, since many had a lot of tape residue on the blades, built up dust and pocket lint in the nooks and crannies, and were in need of a bit of lubrication. I've been giving some of them a little pocket time, to make sure they're functioning acceptably, before I put them back in storage. ;)
I attached the knife to one of my spool knit Type I/95 paracord lanyards. The orange G10 scales are bright enough, but the neon green is extra insurance that helps make sure I don't set the knife down and forget it or misplace it, lol...
I got this from an in-law for Christmas a couple of years ago. It's not as good as a Leatherman, but its OK.
Gerber Legendary Blades is a maker of consumer knives and multitools headquartered in Portland, Oregon. Currently Gerber is a sub-division of Fiskars Brands Inc, owned by the Fiskars company of Finland. Gerber was established in 1939, and has a reputation for making quality knives of innovative design, designed by famous knifemakers.
Designers who have designed knives for Gerber include: Bob Loveless, Paul Poehlmann, Blackie Collins, William Harsey Jr., Fred Carter, Rick Hinderer, and Ernest Emerson. Former Gerber employees who started their own successful knife companies include Al Mar and Pete Kershaw. Gerber also sells a family of folding knives based on designs of Rex Applegate, and authorized by Applegate.
Examples of innovative designs by Gerber are the "bolt action" locking system designed by Blackie Collins, the unique front opening action of the Gerber multitools, and the push button locking Paul knives by Paul Poehlmann. Also unusual are Gerber's niche market products, such as the Clip-it diving knives.
Gerber has also led the market in using new technologies, and materials normally found in custom made or premium brand knives, such light but tough injection molded Hytrel handles, Kraton rubber on handles for enhanced grip, ATS 34 and AUS 8 high carbon stainless steels (widely considered far better than the standard 440 series more commonly used), and titanium nitride coatings. Additional products in the Gerber line include tools, lights, accessories, packs, and hydration products.

So, my Leatherman Juice Xe6 multi-tool has disappeared. I have NO idea where it is. I was helping my mom to bend some wire to help route some cabling one evening, and that's the last I saw of it. We've looked everywhere. Under the furniture? Behind books and shelving? In the garbage can? Nothing.
I missed my knife and pliers. :( So, I hopped over to eBay and found a new Leatherman Freestyle CX for an amazing price. Locking blade, 154CM steel (better, harder, sharper than the blade on the Xe6), and carbon fiber in the body (who doesn't love some carbon fiber?!). I'll try to hang on to this one for a while (granted, the Xe6 had lasted me since 2005).

Some tools i became from a fellow tool collector. the top one is foldable and the bottom one is pressed sheet metal and is a multitool. the bicycle it belonged to was a Phoenix they where made in Leeuwarden Netherlands founded in 1904 and started production in 1917 they where taken over in 1970 by Batavus.

CO2 cartridges (16 gram threaded)
Inflator (for use with threaded CO2 cartridges)
Glueless patches.
Adjustable wrench / spanner for wheel removal

Tire levers x 2
Chainring wrench
Topeak Alien multitool
The Alien is usually overkill, but I have had opportunity to use the knife and even the chain breaker. Allen wrenches is usually all I need.
I own the chainring tool because I've actually needed it on the road, believe it or not. I don't need it anymore, though.
My leatherman Wave is coming up for 12 years old. It was the first thing I purchased when I moved to Holland. It built my IKEA bed, wardrobe and fixed my bikes more times than I can remember. But over 12 years the leather case has become old and stretched, a hole appeared in the bottom.
It's not an elegant hack, but stuffing black Sugru into the pouch has sealed the hole and pushed the leatherman up about 5mm which makes it fit tighter and rattle less. Maybe I'll get another 12 years out of it.

Then I corrected the somewhat compressed centre board trunk by detaching the distorted bulkhead from the trunk and garboard using a multitool and after straightening reattaching it while the space in the trunk was corrected by pressing 28 mm spacers inside the trunk again while softening the glue bonds along the centre line with a heat gun.
For a Father's Day gift (tomorrow), I untied Pa's edc lanyard and made a new, clean, fresh one for him.

Not much has changed with my edc since my last 'pocket dump' photo back in April.
I made a quick run to Papa John's for a carryout order, using my 'points' for a free medium two-topping pizza, before the points were set to expire tomorrow.
Ma likes ham and pineapple on her pizza, so that's what I got for her, and I bought another with pepperoni and mushrooms for Pa and I.
We live much closer to this particular pizza shop since we moved last month, and it only took five minutes to drive there, but traffic stinks in this area, so it took a good twenty minutes to drive back home, even with it just being a warm 91° Saturday afternoon...

The celebrated Alox scales have reached a near cult status, thanks to their unique surface which is pleasing to both hand and eye. The appeal of Alox is in its merging of aesthetics with functionality – its attractive embossed surface make the knife both lightweight and easy to grip, and the hardened oxide layer helps to protect against damage and corrosion.
After being punched from aluminum and embossed, Alox scales go through a process called Eloxal which uses anodic oxidation to create a protective layer. It is this final layer which allows for the coloring of the scales.
Alox has a strong significance in the history of Victorinox. First introduced for the Pioneer knife in 1957, Alox was a key feature of the Soldier’s Knife which was redesigned in 1961 and used until 2008. Today, we issue a Classic pocketknife with Alox scales in a different color every year. These limited edition knives are highly sought-after by design afficionados and collectors, showing the true timeless appeal of this iconic material.

From Google Bard…
Victorinox makes Alox knives using a process called **deep drawing**. Deep drawing is a metal forming process that uses a punch and die to create a three-dimensional shape from a flat sheet of metal.
The first step in making an Alox knife is to cut a sheet of aluminum to the desired size. The sheet is then placed in a deep drawing die, which has the shape of the knife's handle. The punch is then pressed into the sheet, forcing it to conform to the shape of the die.
Once the handle is formed, the blade is inserted into the handle. The blade is held in place by a rivet, which is pressed into the handle. The rivet is then peened, which is a process of hammering it to expand it and lock it in place.
The final step is to anodize the knife. Anodizing is a process that creates a protective layer on the surface of the metal. This layer helps to protect the knife from corrosion and wear.
Here are the steps in more detail:
1. **Cutting the sheet metal:** The first step is to cut a sheet of aluminum to the desired size. The sheet is typically 0.8mm thick.
2. **Deep drawing the handle:** The next step is to deep draw the handle. This is done by placing the sheet metal in a deep drawing die and then pressing it into the shape of the die with a punch.
3. **Inserting the blade:** Once the handle is formed, the blade is inserted into the handle. The blade is held in place by a rivet, which is pressed into the handle.
4. **Peening the rivet:** The rivet is then peened, which is a process of hammering it to expand it and lock it in place.
5. **Anodizing the knife:** The final step is to anodize the knife. Anodizing is a process that creates a protective layer on the surface of the metal. This layer helps to protect the knife from corrosion and wear.
The Alox knife is a popular choice for EDC knives because it is durable, lightweight, and corrosion-resistant. The deep drawing process used to make Alox knives ensures that they are strong and reliable. The anodizing process also helps to protect the knives from the elements.
This is where I work. I couldn’t easily find a desk that would hold all my stuff, so I am using a dining room table :) The monitors are both connected to my Mac Pro, there’s a Drobo on top of the Mac, and one of the monitors is switchable between the Mac Pro and my MacBook Pro.
Where the port and starboard chain plates (mast cables attach to them) protrude through the deck, failed caulking allowed rain water to rot out surrounding balsa deck core. Apparently the previous owner had not stayed up with routine maintenance.
I did the consulting while Chris did the work of using a multitool to cut through the overhead fiberglass skin and remove the rotted wood. Via patterns, we made up 12mm marine plywood patches and used thickened epoxy to glue them against the deck skin. Next, Chris covered the plywood with fiberglass mat to increase the thickness to make the repair flush with the surrounding area. Some fairing compound, sanding and white paint and the repair is complete.
The chain plates have long legs that attach to a bulkhead thus the structural integrity of these fittings was not an issue but progressive rotting of the deck core was. We sealed the chain plates to the deck via butyl tape which I'm now a big fan of. I'm using it on my Bluejacket for deck fittings. Our tape was purchased from Sail Maine Inc. which would like consumers to believe their tape is superior to that which is used in the RV industry.
Chris is a hard worker and a quick study. You will find that after building a boat, you will have the confidence to tackle boat hull repairs and modifications.
The boat has a retractable daggerboard thus boat ramp launching is very easy. Raising this ballasted board used to be a painful 20 minute manual operation with a zillion cranks of a winch handle. Chris recently installed an electric winch thus with the push of a button in less than a minute the daggerboard is raised.
