The first Multiplication Master in Ms. DeSports' third grade class, Jasiya Green explains the perks for becoming a multiplication master. Students receive an ice cream treat at lunch, a crown, a certificate their name and in the school newsletter and their photo added to a bulletin board in Ms. DeSports' class.
Mr. Wilson's fourth grade class does counting calisthenics. They are counting squats by multiples of 11.
Day 29 black
Getting down to the last few days now and the search for interesting black things goes on. In a drawer I found this, it's a calculator which as far as I can see doesn't cut down the time of multiplication or division by a lot. It looks so complicated.
This is my multiplication. It resembles an atom bomb bieng targeted and dropped onto the colorful city. ( Please give advice on anything to improve with this piece.)
Kea's rather enjoying memorizing her multiplication table - we've done variations of skip counting with bean bags and I think we'll do jump-rope soon to help her memorize. Here she's figuring out about factors of numbers, and problem-solving to figure out what the highest common factors are for different numbers. Once she understood what they were asking, it was kind of fun to problem solve - I wish for her a joy in math problems, rather than the thought that math is hard, such as I grew up with!
