The Church of the Multiplication of the Loaves and Fishes at Tabgha stands on the site of a 4th-century church, displaying Byzantine mosaic decorations that are among the most elegantly executed in the Holy Land.

The whole floor depicts flora and fauna of the area in vibrant colours — peacocks, cranes, cormorants, herons, doves, geese, ducks, a flamingo and a swan, as well as snakes, lotus flowers and oleanders.

But the best-known mosaic, on the floor near the altar, refers to the miracle the church commemorates. It shows a basket of loaves flanked by two Galilee mullet.

Beneath the altar is the rock on which it is believed Jesus placed the loaves and fish when he blessed them.

The traditional site of the multiplication of loaves and fishes. An ancient mosaic marks the spot, just in front of the altar.

Near the northern end of the Sea of Galilee is Tabgha, where Jesus multiplied the food to feed the large crowd who had come to see Him. Today, the Church of the Heptapegon (or Seven Springs), also called the Church of the Multiplication of the Loaves and Fish, shows us where this took place. It's a reconstruction, built in 1980-82, of the Byzantine church that was excavated here in 1932.

In the middle of the church is found the stone, upon which is where Jesus Christ was said to have performed the miracle of feeding the five thousand people with the loaves of bread and fish. In front of the rock is the mosaic representation of the bread and fish.

Within Church of the Multiplication of the Loaves and Fishes in the village of Tabgha.

It has been said that Jesus spoke to a throng of people and is reported to have turned 2 fish and 5 loaves of bread into enough food for 5,000 believers.

I had some fun with multiple exposures while taking phtos of these bare trees at sunset.

This is from a dedication service held by Piedmont Baptist Association Sunday, May 31, 2015, at the building of Albertson Road Baptist Church (actually at 1341 Blandwood Drive) in High Point. The church had declined to a handful of older members; they gave the building and land to the association to use in launching new ministries: a new Anglo congregation, Hispanic congregation, Burmese congregation, African American congregation and a ministry to homeless people. The service included honoring the long-time members plus multi-language messages and music, followed by a cookout.

Here, Ngai Lamcing translates into Burmese.
