Recently I visited the campus of The University of Arizona, here in Tucson. I got inspired by some of the cool looking architecture. I take my camera phone with me everywhere I go. I created this image using a bunch of tricky editing techniques.. I use GIMP image editing software because it's FREE... Photoshop is way too expensive..
This is a re-edit of a shot taken last year with the original in colour. This black and white style seems to suit the historic Multimedia Exchange building in Middlesbrough. It looks gothic and almost out of an old ghost story

In December 2004, a neutron star flared up so brightly, it temporarily blinded all the x-ray satellites in space, and lit up the Earth's upper atmosphere. This tremendous blast of energy was from a giant flare created by the neutron star's twisting magnetic field. Objects like this are called magnetars, and they produce magnetic fields trillions of time more powerful than those here on Earth. These fields are so strong they can actually buckle the surface of the neutron star causing these powerful star quakes
In this photo, the James Webb Space Telescope is driven to Guiana Space Centre from the port. It was shipped from California, through the Panama Canal, to French Guiana, where it will launch. The launch vehicle and launch site are part of the European Space Agency's contribution to the mission.

A 5-percent scale model, including solid rocket motors, of NASA's Space Launch System (SLS) is ignited to test how low- and high-frequency sound waves will affect the rocket on the launch pad. The data collected from the tests will be used to help direct and verify the design of the rocket's sound suppression system.
