Ranunculus are cool season perennials with exquisite, multilayered flowers that come in stunning hues of red, orange, pink and yellow, to name just a few!
Blooming in my son's garden.
as the weather was rainy and stormy, we couldn't hike down to the colorado river and enjoyed instead this great view from desert view watchtower.
we were stoked about this fantastic landscape, the multi-layered sandstone formation full of contrasts and details, the color palette, and having some kind of a look into the history of earth.

The Kai winery and the "wine cafe" are preserved traditional structures. The windows of the cafe are very typical Japanese windows, multilayered and painted white. Must be pretty heavy too.
甲斐ワイナリーとそのワインカフェは保存された伝統的な建物。窓も特徴的に太くて白い。すごく重いんだろう。
small stones (about 8 mm wide) of a multicoloured and multilayered necklace; it looks like they might be made of glass

Macro Mondays - theme: Multicolor
I was dithering so much today (I took lots of different images); that's why I am rather late ; ))
Happy Macro Monday ! : ))
Storm clouds over the Lleyn peninsula and Castell Criccieth reflected in the waterlogged foreshore sands, waiting for sunset
Многослойный как наша жизнь, в которой слои настоящего и прошлого, постоянно сменяют друг друга, не исчезая, пропитываясь суетой, счастьем, болью, надеждами и разочарованиями. Вкусный как сама жизнь. 😉
Wandering around the city for some Christmas BW street photography, isn't it great when when you turn a corner and your mouth drops open, I just found the best spot of the night!!!
General Post Office, Melbourne is a former Post office situated on the corner of Elizabeth and Bourke Streets in Melbourne's Central Business District.[1] Originally serving as the General Post Office for Victoria, the building was redeveloped into a Shopping centre in 2004 and is considered a grand example of adaptive reuse.
Melbourne's GPO, as it was renamed, is listed on both the Commonwealth Heritage Register and the Victorian Heritage Register, where it is noted for its historical functional significance and multilayered architecture. The location of the post office is still used as a point of reference for the measure of distances from the centre of Melbourne
The Hawa Mahal is a palace in the city of Jaipur, India. It is built from red and pink sandstone.
The structure was built in 1799 by the Maharaja Sawai Pratap Singh. Designed by Lal Chand Ustad Its five-floor exterior is akin to a honeycomb with its 953 small windows called Jharokhas decorated with intricate latticework. The original intent of the lattice design was to allow royal ladies to observe everyday life and festivals celebrated in the street below without being seen. This architectural feature also allowed cool air from the Venturi effect to pass through, thus making the whole area more pleasant during the high temperatures in summer.
That's what makes photography so special for me ...

Sunlight illuminates a group of standing rocks in Monument Basin (aka Standing Rocks Basin) in Canyonlands National Park. The multilayered red rock of the pillars consists of Organ Rock Shale, formed by deposits from streams and tidal flats 250 million years ago. The white caprock is White Rim Sandstone, derived from sand dunes. Once the harder caprock is lost the pillars erode into shorter needles, as seen on the formation to the right of the pillars.
No theories, no concepts. A purely visual image for the pleasure of dreaming. Metaphors? ... Yes. You decide .... :-)

Music Link: "New Space Music", Brian Eno - from his re-mixed, re-mastered album, "Neroli". This previously unreleased track, just over an hour long, is another gorgeous ambient piece that was added as an extra CD in the re-release. Sumptuously warm and comforting, perfect for meditation or preparing for sleep.

Image dedicated to the memory of Monster, my cat of 11 years, who shone so brightly with love it was scarcely to be believed. He passed away on April 6, 2017. "Good night sweet prince. May flights of angels sing thee to thy rest. To sleep, perchance to dream". - "Hamlet".

In Hibernation I applied many layers of transparent oil color to create overlapping and merging forms. There are abstract plant and animal shapes that appear to intersect or float above or below one another. Some are sinking into a shadowy background as though already in deep sleep, while other brighter figures seem still awake at the surface. Although hibernating is associated with an escape from winter cold and food scarcity, I chose to use predominantly warm red colors that represent life temporarily suspended in a state of dormancy.
A macro of the back of a multi-layered gold and red hibiscus from our garden shot against the light.
This is a close-up view of the Austin Graffiti Train Bridge. It displays multiple layers of artwork and graffiti painted on its sides over the years. The plate girder-style bridge was constructed in 1936, but it sits on the stone piers of a previous bridge. The graffiti that adorns its sides offers a unique and ever-changing perspective, adding a vibrant touch to the view of Lady Bird Lake and showcasing Austin's ever-evolving skyline.
Closeup of a heavily taped-up box used to ship a 35mm short to me. The shipper reused a box, cutting and bending it to size to contain the film, then mummified the package in packing tape without attempting to smooth the tape, leading to this multilayered, multi-directional collection of creases.
To its credit, the package held up well along its cross-country trip through the postal system.
A lovely multilayered morning in the mountains of Japan near Niigata. The fog was initially very heavy, but as it lifted, it revealed layer upon layer of tree covered hills off into the distance.
When I first got into photography, I never thought much of it. I would just pick up my camera, and just press the shutter button and that was it. If I got something decent, great, if not oh well. As time passed I slowly found myself wanting more. The thirst of knowledge for photography basically took over. Fast forward to 3 years later, my thirst of knowledge has now turned into a deep passion of mine. I eat, breath, and live for my photography. Anyone that knows me well, understands my feelings. Without my camera, you might as well take away my soul. There have been many occasions were I have questioned why I do the things I do for certain images. But when it's all said and done, and I look at the back of my LCD of my camera.........yes, it was worth it.
Over the last 2 1/2 years I've had the opportunity to photograph many different locations in different conditions. My images are mere replications/interpretations of what I have seen. These landscapes are so impressive, at times I feel like my images can't even describe the power or the solitude of a location, yet alone the conditions at the time of the image. With that being said, I have a lot of work that I have not shared. Rather than post images every other day or three times a week here on Flickr or other photo sharing websites, I now have my own website.

Continue to work on some awaken local waterfalls due to recent rain storm.
Here is the one located in Napa area. I stopped at this multi-layer waterfall while my family visited the wineries in the area.
This picture may not be to everyone’s taste but it’s to me… It captures the essence of Paris in a single shot. Also, I like very much the multilayered composition of the image – Av. du Président Kennedy, Paris, France.
Having aborted our initial plans for sunset due to flooded roads, David suggested we hit up a Painted Desert spot he knew dubbed as “Breezyland”. As always, nothing is exactly by the side of the road. During our hike to the Painted Desert hills David, Aaron, and I came across a wash with significant patches of dried and cracked mud. The area had been hammered by thunderstorms the fast few days causing some washes to flood and some washes even continued to flow. Coupled with the scorching sun all day, the wet mud dried rapidly forming cracks and thin sheets curling up as they dried.
This particular cracked mud patch was one of the most spectacular I have seen. It was fresh, clean and multilayered with curled patches on top and deep cracked earth below.

Here for you, awaiting you, everynight are dreams, unique to you.
Your own inner kingdom... and as you awake, the world does too.
Dewdrops in the morning glow, ice-crystals covering plants and lands in dusk-light colouring, the sound of the first birds beginning to sing, an atmospheric symphony veiling the scenes as mist rises from the cool grounds, and light warms it gradually.
Existence, what cosmic sorcery, providing unlimited horizons, imagination, freedom of mind, internal discovery, experience of mystery, all you can see, sense and feel, create, witness and perceive .....
Thunderstorms, a stirring force, accompanied and balanced by wind and gentle rain,
Or think to the autumn colours, changing every single day, the uniqueness of waves in the ocean,
and the fine tiny lines on hands, on leaves, the skin of trees, a profound look into the eyes of another sentient being, a soulful smile...
A moment of stillness in midst of a chaotic world, returning to a warm shelter on a cold day, a cup of tea and a warm blanket, a loving embrace, a heartfelt conversation with a kindered spirit, poetry, a stirring artwork of colours so vibrant, so multilayered, all the colours we can see, black and grey shading dimensions into our vision, our abilities to comprehend, to learn from experience and remember, to move, to understand, the way we can compose with words and create stories and tales. The whole universe in our minds.
Sometimes nothing can seem to help or give us a moment of comfort and safety... in these moments, maybe you can find shelter and warmth by retreating into the ‘‘little things'', which are not actually that little, when you look closely. They are where everything else comes and evolves from, so turning to them, tuning deeply into them, connecting with them, can guide us back to the depth we crave, the shelter and the comfort we seek. They can help to bring us back to the root, the core, the essence, where things begin, they can guide us from being scattered or lost outside to finding ''home'' again within.
Is it instability, that leads to turmoil,
or doubt, that makes you turn, or is it...?

Using the low afternoon Sunlight in London, some subject separation by exposure, some refraction for complexity and layers with some useful architectural cues to help frame this in. Now, how many unique people are actually in the picture:)

I love Gershwin and his Rhapsody in blue and whilst its synonymous with the great city of New York, I pinched the title for this one. Given I will not be allowed to shoot full frontal flash or the more "direct" forms of street photography for a little while, I need to get my kicks with the more graphic and introspective style.
