The very first frame from the Belair!
Rabbit Ings
The weather was weird today. The wind was was going. One minute it was snowing sideways and dark. The next it was, bright with warm sunshine. It was utterly freezing for the coldest day so far this winter.
The perfect time to test a new camera!
The Lomography Belair X 6-12. This a newly designed and newly manufactured medium format, panoramic (multiformat actually: 6x6 and 6x9 as well) film camera. Plastic it may be, but Lomo need to be applauded for this effort!

The iconic Hasselblad offered interchangeable film backs right back to its beginnings, including a 6x4.5 option after the 1950s.
What is unexpected is that they are still supporting the "Superslide" format in 1980—an image size more associated with 127 film and 4x4 twin-lens reflexes.
The film photos I took on World Pinhole Photography Day 2020 (26th April) finally came back a couple of days ago.
This one was taken on some old Lomography Lady Grey film that had been sitting at the bottom of the fridge for a couple of years... the printing and texture of the backing paper seems to have transfered to the negatives which is weird... never seen that before even on film much more out of date than this! But in a funny kind of way I quite like the effect!

One of the fun things about using the Panasonic Lumix GH4 camera for stills photography is its multiformat sensor. I much prefer 3:4 or 4:3 for portrait photographs and architectural photographs.
Go to the menu, choose the format you want, and the raw AND JPEG files are created in that format. No fudging it as with some cameras that give you a cropped JPEG but an uncropped raw file.
Photograph made with Panasonic GH4 and Olympus 12-40mm f/2.8 lens, processed with DxO OpticsPro and DxO FilmPack.

Natural Software for New Devices: A Human Way for the Learning Process
The Office of Learning Technology at the Universitat Oberta de Catalunya (UOC) is developing a new concept of software for devices aimed at using human movement and expressions as the basis of the relationship between the student and the learning process. We call it Natural Software.
A new generation of software based on simplicity of use (which studies gestures and the habits of people in transit). No need to read, just listen. Do not click, just tap in your pocket. Do not write, use voice commands. Your best tool, your hands; your best communication protocol, your senses.
The new IT tools remove barriers and offer us the challenge of designing new interfaces to interact while living simply naturally.
