Las redes sociales son un pilar básico para cualquier estrategia de Inbound Marketing. Son el medio que permite pasar de un modelo de Outbound Marketing enfocado alrededor de medios de comunicación tradicionales (prensa, radio, televisión), con estrategias intrusivas, a un modelo de Inbound Marketing cuyo punto de partida es la atracción del consumidor. El papel que juegan las redes sociales se puede sintetizar en cuatro pilares:
Las redes sociales permiten crear la conversación que el Inbound Marketing necesita para conseguir esa atracción. En lugar de aburrir al consumidor con propuestas de venta directa de un producto, se crea un contenido de calidad que atrae al usuario cuando lo descubre.
Las redes sociales ayudan a dar más visibilidad a ese contenido, permiten difundirlo fácil y masivamente sin limitación. Sin las redes sociales, sería mucho más complicado conseguir que un contenido creado en una campaña de Inbound Marketing llegara al consumidor final.
Las redes sociales son un nuevo canal de atención al cliente que no se puede olvidar. En el momento en que una empresa comienza a participar en una red social ha de entender que se trata de un canal bidireccional. Esto implica que recibirá comentarios, preguntas, quejas de clientes o posibles clientes que debe tener la capacidad de responder en un tiempo y una forma adecuados. Supone a su vez que las redes sociales son un canal de realimentación de nuevos contenidos, surgidos de la participación de los usuarios en su conversación con la empresa.

Las redes sociales son estructuras compuestas por personas, organizaciones o entidades que están conectadas por uno o varios tipos de relaciones como amistad, parentesco, intereses comunes, creencias, intercambios económicos etc.
Existen desde el principio del mundo, desde que las personas se relacionaban en las plazas. Con la llegada de internet, se han multiplicado y se han vuelto virtuales. Proporcionan multitud de beneficios a las empresas, entre los que podemos destacar los siguientes:Visibilidad
Facilidad de generación de empatía con el público objetivo, a través de la conversación
Facilidad para la detección de necesidades que permiten mejorar el producto
Fidelización de clientes
Posicionamiento y refuerzo de imagen de marca a bajo coste
Campo de testeo para el lanzamiento de nuevos productos o servicios
Atención al cliente personalizada
Análisis de tendencias en el sector, gracias a la monitorización de la competencia y el mercado
Facilidad en la gestión de las crisis
¿Cómo clasificar las redes sociales?
En función del público al que se dirigen:
Redes sociales B2C: son la gran mayoría de las redes, se utilizan para gestionar la relación entre empresa y consumidor final.
Redes sociales B2B: su intención es facilitar la relación entre empresas, por eso la mayoría, excepto Linkedin, son redes privadas o internas, donde solo es posible acceder con invitación o métodos similares. Un ejemplo puede ser Yammer o Zyncro.
En función del eje de interés:
Horizontales: no tienen una temática o eje de interés específico, se dirigen al usuario en general.
Verticales: se crean en torno a una temática que interesa a todos los usuarios que participan en ella. Por ejemplo, Minube para viajeros.
En función del formato en el que se encuentra el contenido:
Basadas en vídeo: Youtube, Vimeo
Basadas en presentaciones: Slideshare
Basadas en fotografía: Flickr, Instagram
Multiformato: el resto, admiten cualquier tipo de formato
¿Por qué una red social desaparece?
A pesar de que las primeras redes sociales son aún muy recientes, ya hemos podido asistir a la desaparición de algunas de ellas, que nacieron con fuerza y fueron capaces de reunir a millones de usuarios (por ejemplo Fotolog o Hi5).
Esto sucede habitualmente porque aparece una nueva red social que cubre las necesidades mejor que la anterior y se produce una migración de público. En el momento en que el círculo de personas de un usuario deja de utilizar la red social donde este usuario se relaciona con ellas, esa red social dejan de ser interesante. El usuario investigará en qué nueva red social se encuentran sus contactos y migrará hacia ella.Redes sociales más conocidas:
Facebook: la plaza del pueblo. Es la red social por excelencia. Posee más de 1000 millones de usuarios, con una media de edad de 31 años y crece cada día. Un 78% de las personas que utilizan Facebook tienen contacto con alguna empresa y alguna marca.
Twitter: la red de microblogging. Posee 600 millones de usuarios y sigue creciendo. El 56% se ha puesto en contacto con alguna empresa o marca y el 42% de españoles la utiliza.
Tuenti: la red social juvenil. Curiosamente tiene mucha más implantación en el sur de España, lo que es importante para decidir si se debe contemplar como canal dentro de la estrategia de Social Media Marketing.
Google+: Ha conseguido llegar a 400 mill de usuarios y sigue aumentando. El perfil de usuarios más activos, un 25%, son profesionales del marketing y comunicación. Se trata de un público de jóvenes adultos (entre 25 y 55 años).
Foursquare: red de geolocalización con 20 millones de usuarios. Resulta muy útil para negocios locales, aunque es poco explotada a nivel español.
Pinterest: red social femenina con 10 millones de usuarios. Combina muy bien con las ventas online sobre todo en sectores muy visuales (moda, viajes, gastronomía, belleza). Aporta mucho tráfico y conversión en ventas.
Instagram: red de fotografías. 100 millones de usuarios. Tiene mucho potencial a nivel de imagen, para sectores muy visuales.
Linkedin: reúne ya 200 millones de usuarios y con un crecimiento muy rápido, en decadencia de Xing. Su target es profesional, con el objetivo de generar networking y encontrar empleo.
Youtube: la red de videos, que tiene ya 900 millones de usuarios. Es muy fácil vincularla y difundir su contenido en otras redes sociales.
Slideshare: el poder del powerpoint. Al igual que Linkedin, su target es profesional y permite aportar mucho valor y contenido de calidad.
Flickr: 70 millones de usuarios, 2 millones solo en España. Se dirige a un público muy aficionado o profesionales de la fotografía.

It has been a while since I earned a living as a magazine and newspaper photographer with a healthy specialisation in editorial portraits.
That was back during the analog film era when I formed my monochrome photography style from a combination of Polaroid Type 55 20 ISO negative/positive film, Tri-X in 120 and 35mm formats, developing film with high-dilution Agfa Rodinal for sharpness and reasonably fine grain, printing on imported silver-rich baryta papers and split-toning using gold, selenium, sepia and sometimes copper and blue toners in conjunction with benzotriazole added to the paper developer to cool the high values.
The cameras I used then have no direct digital equivalents, at least none that I can afford nowadays. They included handheld Crown Graphic and tripod-mounted Zone VI Studios 4"x5" sheet film view cameras, 120 format rangefinder cameras and 120 multiformat magazines, Rolleiflex twin lens reflexes and Leica M-series rangefinders. I almost never used SLR cameras and only then as loaners from employers when freelancing and I needed extra wide or long lenses for a specific assignment.
When I shot in colour for the glossy magazines and newspaper colour supplements, I chose Fujifilm or Kodak colour reversal films for their rich colour renditions but heavily filtered the camera lens and used Rosco gels over my kit of portable Broncolor flash units and light shapers for expression and emotion.
I am about to seriously take up portrait photography again and must find a way to create a new style or styles that will effectively convey emotions but with today's hardware and software. I need to find a way of seeing and creating that is mine. With so little variation between cameras, lenses, sensors and processing software nowadays, it is all too easy for everyone's work to look the same.
There are clues in the ongoing convergence of movies with stills. My Panasonic Lumix GH4 has a fully articulated monitor that can be flipped over and act like a ground glass. A firmware update last year added the ability to export high quality still frames from movie footage shot in 4K Photo mode.
Ultra-fast lenses are available that can radically limit depth of focus when shooting with Micro Four Thirds sensors. Raw processing and photography editing software can shift, swing and tilt not unlike view cameras.
Plug-ins can render the tones and colours of analog films with uncanny accuracy. Fuzzy golf-ball grain is now a thing of the past, unless we wish to dial it in to taste. And we have ISOs beyond our wildest dreams.
I made this portrait to remind myself of where my way of seeing and printing some monochrome photographs comes from. Now I need to find new ways of seeing and post-processing just as expressive as the ways I did it all during the time of analog.

Los obturadores Polaroid MP-4 se montan mediante una bayoneta especial de plástico en la cámara y desmontando esa pieza de la parte trasera es algo distinta a la de un obturador estándar, incluyendo el anillo de retención y un pequeño tornillo para que esa bayoneta de plástico no gire.

Polaroid MP-4 shutters are mounted using a special plastic bayonet on the camera body and removing that part is somewhat different from a standard shutter, including the retaining ring and a small bayonet anti-rotation screw.

Pinhole shots from the first roll of film put through my Ondu Multiformat.
This was approximately a 110 minute exposure at night under artificial light. Exposure was in no way calculated, I just plonked it down on my scanner and opened the shutter, and closed it when I wanted to use the camera for something else. Science!

You get a twofer today. I wanted to show off the results from my fancy new camera.
It seems appropriate that I took the first photograph with my new Ondu 6x12 Multiformat camera at Image City Photography Gallery. The partners here have been my mentors for the past fifteen years or thereabouts.
I stopped at the gallery to see the current Red show. They started doing this one a couple years ago. It is a non-juried show, limited to the first eighty people to submit a photograph of their choice on the theme "Red". My "Fading Autumn" photograph is out of range on the wall to my left.
Gil Maker, who does beautiful work in black and white, sat quietly at the desk for the entire several-minute exposure.
I scanned this first roll at 2400 dpi, my usual for medium format. The native format Gimp xcf from the scan is 174 mb. The final jpg is 30 mb. Big.
I included the bottom film edge to show the cutouts to hold the removable baffles to shoot in 6x9 or 6x6. See the link for more info on the camera.

After a big April snow. Shot with my Ondu 6x12 multiformat, for Worldwide Pinhole Day 2017. Ektar 100, developed with C-41 kit.
Near Nathrop, CO - Ondu multiformat, set to 6x9. I had my iphone meter set to 32ISO so this was really overexposed, but it turned out fine. Ultrafine Extreme 100. Home developed: D76 normal. Scanned on Epson V550.
