Wouldn't the skies be prettier if clouds weren't always white or grey during the day?
For Smile on Saturday "over processed clouds"
I was intrigued by the multiple branches that emanated from this single tree as it seemed to move across the frame. Some more arboreal wonder from Little Wittenham Wood, South Oxfordshire.
Brightly coloured beach huts at Portland bill Dorset. An unusual setting for huts on the cliff top but they look so quaint with their bright colours and different styles, almost oldie worldy! In the distance is The Old Lower Lighthouse a disused 19th-century lighthouse, now a grade11 listed building. There are in fact three lighthouses on this peninsular, the other The Old Higher lighthouse constructed in 1716 now also a grade 11 listed building is privately owned used for holiday rentals....Nice spot indeed.
For some reason or other I like taking pics of the back views of people .... and there are often accommodating men/boys at the various platforms that are along the edge of the lake, indulging in their angling hobby. I don't recall ever seeing any lady anglers there, but I suppose they must exist?
Anyway - they don't seem to mind if I indulge in my hobby too ....
This was a very friendly fella after he sized me up and determined I was ok. Incredible combination of colors on this one, grazing after a rain in the Zion National Park area.
This pendant in a shop window caught my eye as the light was being refracted. I moved around it to obtain the most pleasing colours.
Refraction: A ray of light of one wavelength, or colour (different wavelengths appear as different colours to the human eye), in passing from air to glass is refracted, or bent, by an amount that depends on its speed in air and glass, the two speeds depending on the wavelength. A ray of sunlight is composed of many wavelengths that in combination appear to be colourless. Upon entering a glass prism, the different refractions of the various wavelengths spread them apart as in a rainbow.

A picnic table, the Lakeview Shelter (originally Lakefront Refectory), some trees, Lake Superior, and the first snow at Gooseberry Falls State Park.
The park is located in Castle Danger, north of Two Harbors, Minnesota.
Thanks for all your faves and comments everyone!
I really appreciate them!

We spotted this elegant bloom while walking around the ferry dock area at Port Angeles, Washington..
This vintage automobile was evidently painted many colors in it's lifetime, although rust is becoming the predominant hue. It is one of the vehicles owned by David Webb of the Lost Highway Museum.
Happy Slider Sunday!

Vermilion Cliffs National Monument is composed of resistant red sandstone beds, formed from deposited silt and desert dunes and cemented by infiltrated carbonates. The rocks are intensely colored by red iron oxide and other minerals, particularly bluish manganese.
This creates incredibly beautiful structures and hues. The most famous formation is The Wave in Coyote Buttes North. However, there are countless lesser-known spots with enough hoodos, arches, slot canyons, and brain rock formations to keep a photographer busy for a lifetime.
Paired with extremely dark skies, the area is a landscape astrophotography paradise, and since my first visit, in 2016, I have been waiting for my chance to return. In MayI plannec to spend one week in the area. Unfortunately, the weather didn't cooperate, but at least I got one partially clear night.
This image, showing amazing layers of reddish rocks in front of some white brainrock formations beneath a perfect Milky Way, is one of my favorite compositions from that night.
