Námaskarð is a very active geothermal area on Namafjall mountain which is connected to the Krafla volcano syatem, close to Lake Mývatn area in northeast Iceland. The air in this area smells sulphurous and at times can be quite pungent.

Weekend 2 in New Zealand, at the mud pools and such

O yes, it really smelled like sulphur over there.

a mud pool bubbling all day long; it is like a chocolate fountain. Chocolate for anyone?

Early in the morning, just before sunrise, the geysers and mudpools were steaming but the light was flat with heavy highlights on the mountains behind.

South of the Krafla area, but not actually within the caldera is Námafjall, a mountain, beneath which is Hverir, a geothermal area with boiling mudpools and steaming fumaroles
