This is what I spend my work days in front of. All five external monitors are driven by the macbook above, in a 5x1+1 portrait configuration.
Five because three was no longer enough at some point.
Portrait for more efficiency : less head turning, takes fewer desk space, better suited for web browsing, coding and documents.

Broke out the wife's Chinese furniture and an Oriental rug mousepad acquired on eBay as a 1/6 scale prop. It looks pretty good, although I need to figure out how to clean it. If you notice red marks on the figure's legs in the subsequent shots, that's bleed-off from the mousepad (which also disappeared on their own after a day, so it's not like I'm all that worked up about it).
She is free-standing, despite the strong tilt in her posture. And the title of the series of photos is after a song from the musical "Flower Drum Song," free-associating off the flower print. I can't think of a better title that's not annoying or stupid.

Simon sent the mousepad to me in 2007 and I used it accordingly. :D
The backstory is Simon took a photo I posted on Fotki (my cat laying on top of the monitor while a photo of her laying on the monitor was displayed on the monitor) and he had it made into a mousepad.
Simon: I STILL use the mousepad. It's the only one I use. I'm using it right now!

Hi there! I made this ATC card for a friend and thought I'd share it here, too.
The colors in these pictures (front and back) are a bit off, but as close as I could get. The colors are a bit softer and more muted in real life.

I started out with the one on the left because my optical mouse was not tracking properly on the wood-grain table top.
Then as I just started using this as a backdrop [move keyboard, photgraph something], I bought more colors from Amazon [the brand is AOTHIA].
Ignore any curved portions, I just took the others out of the box. They lay flat when relaxed.
They call it a PU leather desk pad. There are more colors & sizes, this size is 23.6 x 17.5 [inches, I am an American after all] ;)
Texture is good for mousing-around.
The far right is what all of them look like on the back, very minor fuzzy texture.
I have no idea if you can get all colors in all sizes, I do know that not all color options were available in SMALL when I picked up the other 4.
These have proven to be more durable than construction paper, which is what I used to use for small stills. And I get to swap mouse pad colors to boot.
Thoughts ? What do you use for small objects ?
