MOC: Motocross 4x4. A modern interpretation of the classic set 6677, Motocross Racing from 1986.
The original set had an opening bonnet (hood) - albeit with no engine beneath it. My version has a proper engine... well, as proper as it can get when restricted to 3x4 studs.
I also think the sticker across the bonnet fits very well - and it has the added, unintentional bonus of camouflaging the necessary gap between the two 2x2 curved slopes and strengthening the whole build.

Part of my "Updated Classics" series - an ever-growing number of sets I've re-interpreted in order to make them fit better with modern LEGO City vehicles and buildings.
I was nine in 1986, and got the original that year or the year after. It was a favourite, I really liked the chunky SUV and the blue motorcycle. So revisiting this set is something I had wanted to do for a long time -
but I couldn't, because the new LEGO cross bike didn't exist in blue... until the Jurassic World sets came out two years ago and the T-Rex Tracker had one. So I built this for Brickworld in Chicago, picked the stickers I wanted to put on it, brought it with me to the US, bought the T-Rex Tracker in the LEGO store at Woodfield Mall in Schaumburg, ripped the box open, stickered the bike and put it on display... and I finally managed to snap some pictures it now!
I have to say I think the whole thing turned out very nice. There are several things I like about the car - the engine compartment and the opening hatch in particular - and the trailer is pretty smooth, if I may say so myself.
All stickers are original LEGO stickers, from various sets. Some have been cut to fit.

I'm very happy with the trailer, which ended up quite sleek, with those wheels and mudguards. It almost doesn't look like LEGO!
The bike mount and straps work quite well, too, and I incorporated some clips to hold a crowbar and shovel. Finally, I added two traffic cones - I figured they would be handy for practice.
Spent the evening at the local racetrack watching family members race.
I used the 45 f/1.8 and the 75 f/1.8.
