Brand "Suppenkasper" ("Soup clown"), a soup made of chicken/tuna with fine pieces of meat. Timmy does not like the meat pieces, so I have to pour the soup through a sieve :-)))

I like the brand "Suppenkasper", it really is a genius name !

Thank you very much for 1000 Followers!

I’ve been in SL for 83 Days. Things happen which I didn’t expect and plan at first. Second Life is such an amazing “dream comes true” world!

These 2 and a half months:

♡ I’ve opened my own gallery displaying my photos and even sold some of them!

♡ I’ve met great people in SL, broadening my horizon! And my dear photographer friends invite me to join their art project! Such an honor!

♡ Starting this SL Flickr account let me meet some great photographer friends! Lots of wonderful photos taken by all of you inspire me and motivate me to catch up!

I’ve never attained more than 1000 followers in any social media before. I haven’t thought of I can go this far! I’m very happy and grateful for all your support! Really means a lot to me!

Exploring sims and taking photos in SL is my self-healing or self-meditation process from RL. I’m not a cheerful girl but I would like and always try hard chasing light. So you may find warmth and hope in my photos. This is what I would like to express in my photography.

I really love the two life quotes wall decals sold in my gallery which speak my mind:

★ I’ve learned to stop rushing things that need time to grow.

★ Stronger than Yesterday

I would like to walk at my own comfortable pace in both RL and SL. Just do what I like in SL, not to rush for glory but to feel the sunshine or starlight every day. And I believe things will grow their beautiful way unexpectedly.

Last but not least, be tough and strong no matter how dark the road is. I know I can lift me up to the height I want.

Cuba, "Ever onward to victory"

The roads in Cuba are sown by large posters to the glory of Castroism. Accompanied by revolutionary slogans, that want to motivate Cubans to follow the right path. Fidel Castro has not created a cult of personality that would place him in sacred character. Heroes of Cuban independence are highlighted in detail by propaganda. And -myth in the myth- Che Guevara his fierce eyes and romantic beard, like a holy image.

We've had a very grey winter so far, but we have days like this every now and then when i get really motivated to just go out and shoot :) Lots of mist on Vattudalen, Jämtland, Sweden.

"Autumn is a second spring when every leaf is a flower."

Last weekend I wasn’t motivated to go outside taking pictures due to the overcast weather. However, seeing all those beautiful trees with their colorful foliage made me grab my camera and go for a walk. Apart from the bad light there was also quite some wind, but I managed to get a few acceptably sharp pictures like this one, which bokeh and colors I really like. I hope you like it too!

A little experimentation here. Mostly processed with Silver Efex Pro, but then played with split toning in Lightroom, along with adding some grain to hide blemishes and processing artifacts. (The play with split toning was motivated by the marvelous work of Julius Tjintjelaar.) I also wore out the healing brush on this one---my sensor filter is looking as if it's been sneezed on repeatedly. I ordered a whole host of cleaning supplies, and I'm hoping they do the trick.

Filters: polarizer, 1-stop hard-edge GND, 10-stop ND

Brrr... it has been cold during the last few days. Way below -20°C degrees. This is a different winter, one of those good old ones. The sea covered by a layer of thick ice. Definitely, favorable weather to photograph Bearded Reedlings (Panurus biarmicus) I thought ... and as it had been 3 years since I photographed them for the last time, I was eager, motivated, and all dressed for it... well... got lucky. Happy Days!

KCS 4671 takes the lead of CP 577 as it rides over the Crow River in Rockford, MN. This train had to make a big pickup of hoppers at Humboldt which killed enough time for the sun to come out of the clouds.

Passed my road test at Willmar last Friday. I can finally drive myself to railfan. When I heard about this train coming I got motivated to drive out further than what I have been able to bike to and thus was the result.

Ironically this was the day KCS said yes to accepting CP. We shall see what happens in the future...

Italy, Venice, Burano, …not every corner is a fiesta of colours & light, but most of the island is as colourful as a painter's colour-palette.

The island at the northern end of the Venetian Lagoon is situated 7 kilometres from Venice, known for its lacework & for its small, brightly-painted houses. To reach the island with a population of around four thousand, takes about a 60 minutes trip by Venetian motorboats, "Vaporetti".

The warm myriad of Mediterranean colours that characterises the houses on the island, follow a detailed system initiated at the golden era of its development; if someone wishes to paint their home, one must send a request to the island government, who will respond by making notice of certain colours permitted for that lot.

📌 …Burano, before the island became a tourist fascination, originally the painting of the houses in strong bright colours had a very practical, safety & path-breaking reason.

When the fishermen with their boats & their catch of the day returned to the island of Burano, they could focus & locate on foggy days the island better because of the colourful houses.

Olympic National Park, Washington. I drove the switchbacks up to here in the dark, the mountainsides impossibly steep on each side of the road. I trudged up Hurricane Hill until I saw the little promontory I had spied the previous evening, then puffed my way up to the top of the cliff as the sky began to smudge. The remains of a tree marked the edge of the void, where I crouched, hands in armpits to stay warm, watching my breath. This is an older image, when I was more motivated for sunrise. I wonder why I was...was it the promise, the anticipation, the hope that a good sunrise implies? But hope is a stupid thing, a sure disappointment, a dream waiting to be be ruined by waking. We are only human, we can't help wanting things to be...but it's better not to expect, not to cherish that desire. Better to be taken by surprise. Some mornings are glorious, some go bust. Sometimes I'll be there and let it happen, one way or the other.

In a world filled with ups and downs, a simple smile has the power to heal and uplift. When we smile, it's as if a ray of sunshine breaks through the clouds, warming our hearts and souls. It spreads contagious joy, connecting us with others and reminding us of the beauty that exists in every moment. So, let your smile radiate, for it is a powerful force that can heal not only yourself but also those around you, bringing light and positivity into the world

Seriously glad I saw this challenge group cause it has motivated me to get out of the house, and shoot. Or stay in the house, and shoot. Bottom line, I am remembering the delight in a scene both in person, and the resulting image.

ansh: something seen on a walk

The BNSF Forsyth Sub east of Billings has to be one of the most boring, mundane pieces of railroad around. Miles and miles of tangent track, modern boring signals, brown grain fields and orange diesels, it's not really something that motivates one to document it. However, about 30 miles east of Billings the railroad takes a sharp turn and starts to follow the Yellowstone River more directly, leading to more interesting shots. I had this one on my list for a few years now, but with a narrow season for good light and a decent drive just to shoot Gevos, I had never gotten around to it. Splitting the Yellowstone River in the background and the Rough Coulee in the foreground, even generic orange looks pretty good here.

India, Kerala or Kēraḷam, Backwaters.

Shore operated lift fishing nets are a type of stationary lift nets, commonly known in India as "Chinese fishing nets", each installation is operated by a team of 4 to 6 fishermen.

In India they are mostly found in Kerala’s Backwaters & coastal areas around the cities of Kollam & Kochi, where they became besides for fishing also a tourist attraction & a beloved photo motive.

This for India unusual fishing method is almost unique to the area of Kerala,

This fishing method was introduced by Chinese explorers who landed there in the 14th century. One assumption of the city name Kochi is “co-chin”, the interpretation is meaning “like China”

The scenery of the Kerala Backwaters with the orange glimmering light of the sunset at dusk,

a vivacious day descends to the shadow & the calm of the night, punctuated at times by the screeching of birds.

📌….unique backwaters are a network of interconnected five large lakes linked by canals, both manmade, fed by 38 rivers & brackish lagoons extending nearly half the length of Kerala state. A labyrinthine system formed by almost 1.000 km of waterways lying parallel to the Arabian Sea coast, known as the “Malabar Coast”.

The backwaters have an exceptional ecosystem; freshwater from the rivers meets the seawater from the Arabian Sea, formed by the action of waves & shore currents creating low barrier islands across the mouths of the many rivers flowing down from the Western Ghats range.

A Thannermukkom Salt Water Barrier, preventing salt water from the sea is entering the deep inside, keeping the fresh water intact. Such fresh water is extensively used for irrigation purposes.

Numerous unique aquatic species including mudskippers, crabs, frogs, water birds such as kingfishers, darters, terns, darters & cormorants, animals like otters & turtles live in the backwaters area. Palm trees, pandanus bushes & other leafy plants grow alongside the backwaters, providing a green shade to the surrounding landscape.

Of course she was motivating me to stay home and give her cheese instead of going for a bike ride… but still motivating me.

52/52

Yay finished like 3 months late. Most people would usually write about what happened on their "journey" through their 52 week project, but i can safely say that i wont be doing anything like this again. Mainly cause where i live i have no privacy to take self portraits, and the scenery here in Lincoln is shit. So dont ever come here :).

This was taken a while ago cause i thought i was going to be finishing alot earlier but that didnt happen cause i've been too busy lately. Sorry its not as good as most peoples final photo but tbh i cant seem to motivate myself to do anything amazing when i havent got the scenery or privacy to help me.

Thanks for all the views, favourites and explores. Its meant alot.

359/365

This is one of the (evil) thoughts that has been running through my mind lately as the end of my 365 approaches. After my project I am afraid that I will be floating directionless in an abyss of procrastination (sounds bleak, I know). I actually shot this before my trip to Iceland when I was feeling exactly like this; I was depressed but hopeful that something about Iceland would pull me out of this funk. This is a funk that I think will always be with me in some way or another and I can either lie down and let it take over or let it motivate me to keep creating.
